I had no idea they made a new season in 2015. Should of really ended back in 2013 and trying to make it go on even more will just loose its charm. As they say all good stories must come to an end. However the original series will always be the best show to come out from cbbc hands down.
I still think that Dick and Dom is a little better, if only due to how that show could never be recreated even today, but Horrible Histories does come damn close
The thing missing from the extension franchise is that the writers are not there, 'the six idiots' left to write Bill, Yonderland and Ghosts
I loved horrible histories as a kid. I love the new show that the six idiots (Simon, Martha, Ben, Laurence, Jim and Matt) have written and stared in. I case you didn't know its called BBC ghosts and is really brilliant.
Horrible Histories is basically "I Am Not Making This Up: The Series".
You forgot to mention the funniest segments are the Masterchef ones 😂

Another great vid, and I look forward to next month's un-intentionally scary kid's show video (that is, if you're still keeping the tradition alive). Never saw any of the books when I was a kid in America, but had I ever got one, you bet I would have devoured it (metaphorically, of course). The live-action series was probably one of the greatest things since boil-in-the-bag ham, and I really wish that the BBC could have sold the series to PBS, but alas RUclips works just as well. Recently I saw the HH cast's foray into sitcoms with Ghosts, and it was an absolute joy. My favorite cast member is by and large Simon Farnaby (or, in Star Wars universe, Farns Monsbee), and I can't wait to see what other projects he has lined up. Cheers!
I think Horrible Histories is one of the shows I loved from the first episode and kept me watching CBBC, BBC and TV in general for a long time before streaming camw along.
Oh I just remembered when I first watcjed it with my brothers, I didn't knkw what to expect and thought it would jusr be bad. The theme tune and montage was a shining light and where I really thought it could be good.
It definitely started at the right time and the sound a like and satirical songs are some of the best comedy I've seen.

You see, the people of the Horrible Histories fandom have so many other figures as well, Like death, Shouty man, and Simon Cowell, except not the last one, that they all want as their president too!
So, what do they do? They elect them all! Yes in 2025 it’s announced that all the main figures in Horrible Histories will become the president of some part of the world, or at the very least, involved in some part of the government!

Yes the horrible histories fandom grew so big that the cast actually infiltrated the government and made it illegal to not watch horrible histories. And that was the end of that. Or so we thought! In the year 2029 some people got fed up of just watching horrible histories on loop for 12 hours a day and started a revolt!

It's defintitely not underrated. Part of it/the 6 idiots is why their new show Ghosts was so successful. Had 4000+ people turn up at comic con for them and the Ghosts companion book has been nominated for a British book award.
I'm a religious wrestling fan but I love Horrible Histories, fun fact my old school nurses once critiqued me because I didn't watch anything educational !ha

I always wanted to be on gory games. I’m so annoyed if ended because I was too young to go on it I think. Also, you didn’t do Yonderland and Bill justice. They are wonderful. I love all their jokes. But I’ve got to say, I think ghosts is better. I love how the 6 idiots’ shows have grown up with their audience without being too adult (well the shows they did together didn’t anyway).

I had this video in my liked video list and I've finally found it again. Everytime I tried to look up things like 'How horrible Histories was made' or 'the history of Horrible Histories' I couldn't find it.
I do seem to be the only one making these sorts of videos about these kinds of shows, it’s the same for my Chucklevision and Farthing Wood videos

I remember the audiobooks! I was actually trying to get the name of the DK CD ROMS and remember getting freaked out by the audio of a skull mug

I actually do like the movie, but I see it more as a Wes Andersen movie, rather than an adaptation of the book, so I see them as two separate things, even if it does follow the book's overall narrative quite well

@@HeadphonesUK Originally Baynton was an idea, but Farnaby was the priority out of the group. After Farnaby, I had Martin Freeman, then Mike Wozniak (he appeared in Horrible Histories Series 8), then RUclipsr and comedian/musician Jay Foreman

I used to do quick reviews of my favourite movies and video games every new year, but nobody watched those, so I turned them into my 'What I did this year' videos
Besides those I usually do a vlog of the most recent doctor who series after they've been released, but that's it
I always loved this show as a kid and still do now!

i really like how the cheep sets looked i feel like it added to the charm, i also think all of the easy jokes made it funny but not the way you would usually laugh at them but in a deadpan intentionally cringe way if you get me. the cast definitely made everything work in a way i dont think a different cast could

I hated how much they pushed SIGNH, I felt like I was the only person who hated it. They even took the video game character show and made their own show with them because it was the only memorable one
I watched the movie in the cinema and I wasted my money. Some bits were funny but it wasn't the best. It was worse then the Shakespeare movie.

I had the rotten Roman’s book as a kid the cartoon version I watched the Greek one and it was meh the normal series has always been my fav
I would say Horrible histories got me into history, but about 75 - 80 percent of what they say is definitive history. some of it is speculative and others, like the Titanic sketch, were straight up out of date (im a titanic buff as well)

as much as we would like to want it, Bill actually was never gonna be a Horrible Histories movie as it's completely fictiona (the one major thing abot Horrible Histories is it was factually correct like 98% of the time) The actual HH movie was a fun watch and would reccomend watching it as you have Nick Frost, Dave lamb, Terry Deary, Lee Mack and tbh the laughs and the fun is there, just not the original cast

Nah but the episodes after series 5 are just a big no for me. Like most the original actors left to go and shoot the series Ghosts.Like it is boring and not as funny now. It is so sad but I just re watch up to series 5.

You're right not to watch the movie! It's a travesty, so embarrassingly bad it made me cringe, in between shouting "Heresy!!" at the screen & wanting to stab my eyes out. It's so depressing that people will watch it, or the rebooted series, & think that's what Horrible Histories is!

@@HeadphonesUK My only problem is that Horrible Histories is becoming "woke", they had a black person play Benjamin Franklin, who despite not owning slaves, existed during a time of slavery. There has also been more of a focus on women, especially with the songs in Series 9. This is a kids' history program, NOT something to throw wokeness into

The show is terrible now. There's too much gross out humour, horrible parodies and cringiness. They even did a Dan TDM parody...
Attraction Swirl Lao because the cast changes after season 5 it lost all of its charm
Series 6 was 7/10 series and I really enjoyed it. I just liked the new skits like History's Craziest Fools or Chatty Death and more. The actors are good and it is a different take on the series. After Series 6 it went horrible and over time the cast changed again and the new actors are terrible (no offence). Flossing and RUclipsr, Love Island, First Dates, Frozen and Adele parodies and many more *boomer humor* and out of touch jokes. Also I though the first series is good in its own way but is now a bit outdated.
