I keep cards and punch a hole in the corner and thread a string through the hole. I started doing that and putting the collection on the doors of the house(inside) after Bob and I got married and his uncle died. It was my first and last memory of Uncle Press Patterson. Now I don’t get more than 5 cards in a year. My first Pen-Pal was William Bernard Poe. We wrote for 3 years and we stopped when I was 11 and he was 13. He became an editor for Council on Foundation in Washington, DC. I memorized poems from Poe, Edgar Allan, that is, in 2nd grade because I loved him. He died a year before I married.
@@CharlotteFairchild that is sad and absolutely precious at the same time. Stringing the notes and letters together is a lovely idea. I hope you are doing well, Charlotte! Have a good week ahead.
@@thetartantopiary We all have loss in life. As a retired chaplain, I am always aware of how without Poe, I would be a child without a childhood friend and poetry! Poe is fun bedtime reading for a murder mystery writer I became! I am older. People who are older lose friends and relatives every year. I think people who lose pregnancies and babies have a harder time with all loss. We have lost part of the future. When I heard the story of you and Daniel, I realized how Bill Poe and his loss was so much bigger than I realized. The what if of imagination is what we need for a chaise lounge or a new floor! I will never have teenage foreign exchange students again!
I am addicted to Homeworthy. I especially enjoy tours by designers who live in the South. So far, the tour hosted by Edith Ann Duncan of Roanoke, Virginia is my favorite. Thank you for your RUclips suggestions. I will definitely check some of them out.
Yes- Homeworthy is a great one. I listed several more channels in the description of this video and Homeworthy was one of them. I enjoy that Allison Kenworthy lets the home owner take control of the home tour!
I bought my first wonderful home decoration magazine when I was about 14, and got told off by my mom for spending my pocket money on something so expensive (and useless). I guess I remained disobedient and a spendthrift, because here I am, fifty years later, surrounded by decoration and gardening magazines and books! Thanks from Namibia for the beautiful books you share with us.
I appreciate you sharing that story. In a way it reminds me of one of my aunts. She was raised during the depression and spending money on magazines with something she viewed as “useless” also. I’m glad you saw the magazine as a form of education through text as well as beautiful photography and also appreciating it as a form of enjoyment. Thank you for your kind message.
“Pen Pals” - We are surely pen pals! Every precious soul within this community , whether they choose to communicate or not, finds extraordinary joy within the pages of these books! I found myself overcome with emotion Mary, when I heard “pen pal”. We all share a beautiful bond! To you all, as always, much love from the MS Gulf Coast!🏝💚
I was surprised that most of your favorite RUclips channels are also my favorites. Rajiv’s topics make me happy as many of his interests are close to mine…of course, his musical talents are on another planet compared to my lack of musical abilities. Dan is amazing on the progress he’s made in such a short amount of time…AMAZING. I look forward to seeing your new book choice each Friday. Thank you.
Mary…those flower arrangements were gorgeous…..it reminded me….when I got married the first time in 1973…NOBODY WOULD MAKE MY BOUQUET…..because I wanted daisies and yellow roses…..back then florists only made solid white bouquets…..I had to drive 50 miles to get a small florist to make them as long as I PROMISED not to tell who made them….life is so funny…..thank you for a lovely video….your voice just calms me down so much…hugs carolyn from Columbus GA
What I love about Kimes work is that a man can be very comfortable living with. So many English and French interiors look like only women live there with a mans comfort not taken into account. Thank you for sharing.
Mary, you're a kindred spirit... Thank you for your channel, and your being you! Kime was a genius, and more. It's as if the rooms and furnishings loved him. Also, there's not a trace of pretense in his interiors... his work is so honest.
Isn't Kime wonderful (!!!). He created exactly the sort of environments in which I have always aspired to live. I'll probably never "get" there, but I have a lot of fun trying. As for my other favorite RUclips channels... I'd recommend "Homeworthy" and "Hunt & Gather." For you southerners, Hunt & Gather is filmed in a wonderful antique shop in Raleigh, NC, and it's well worth a trip inside if you're ever in the area. Cheers, everyone... and thanks to you, Mary, for all of your wonderful efforts.
Yes- especially during Christmas I will watch Hunt & Gather as I listen to the beautiful music. I was there today. I had to pick up an item at Leland Little Auctions and stopped by Hunt & Gather for a quick walk through! It's as good as any therapy session! I hope you are doing well.
Robert Kime had a gift for creating spaces people feel good in. That book is a treasure! The consistent format you created to showcase books is reliably pleasant and informative and the portion you showcase to personal things is my favorite!
Thank you for this great video!! I am an admirer of Robert Kime’s work; his humbleness was a gift and treasure. Thank you for sharing your favorite uTube channels. Surprisingly, I follow all but the cooking channel! ❤❤️
Hi Mary !! Robert Klime did amazing decorating.. what an eye for design !! I had a pen pal too! I miss those days of receiving handwritten letters and cards in the mail, now its junk mail and bills ,haha! The views in your kitchen look so lovely, I think we are kindred spirits !! I enjoy watching you tubes that are in England , going to the Cotswolds is my dream trip! Years ago I took classes floral arrangements it was enjoyable. Have a wonderful weekend ! Hugs Paula
I, too watch, Nicholas. He is very calm and interesting, and so are you. I’m from Michigan, like your first pen pal. I so enjoy your channel. Thank you for your beautiful content.❤❤❤
Hi Mary, I don’t know whether you have seen AmericanViscountess That’s a very nice channel showing historic homes of England and the UK. Another one I like is New England fine living with Linda Smith Davis. That’s also nice channel.
Hi Mary, Your bouquets are delightful. Love your mix of flowers and greens. You definitely have a gift. I have been watching Kevin Lee Jacobs on You Tube and find him so calming and enjoyable. Wishing you both a good week❣️
Thank you for the jewelry info! I also meant to say what a wonderful floral designer you are - the flowers were beautiful. And I love your voice, it’s just so calming and soothing. And I’m a total decorating book-a-holiday!
I love your channel! I grew up around a family ( old California) who relished the finer things in their homes, yet staying humble throughout. My great grandparent’s home is a museum in the Bay Area , a Queen Anne Victorian mansion built in 1850 and holds many of the furnishings to this day. I am drawn to the southern designers you have shared plus my own heritage…..a touch of California pioneers. 😊 Thank you so much again for your wonderful videos. The narration and videos are so calming. ❤
Thank you for the thoughtful comments. The 1850 Queen Anne Victorian home sounds dreamy. The history alone of that house is fascinating I'm sure. Does it have a state (city) or national historical marker?
We pretty much have the same watchlist. I would add Quintessence and The Potted Boxwood. Also The Restoration Nation and All About Annette (she reminds me of you in some ways).
Dear Mary, what a wonderful video. Your flower arrangements are stunning and the book review was incredible. Thank you so much for another Friday evening, though I shall watch this one again tomorrow with my coffee 💕🥰💕🥰💕
Hello Mary! I enjoyed another interesting review! The tulip arrangement is beautiful! I usually poke a small hole in a few of them right underneath the head of the flower to allow better water absorption and sometimes it helps them to stand up a little straighter. However, I loved how you effortlessly and beautifully designed the handheld bouquets! Your daughter is lucky to have such a talented Mother! Have a wonderful day and I will see you in the next one! Hi to Daniel too! Hugs :)
Thank you for another lovely video. I enjoy having afternoon tea with Nicolas Fairfield (channel) as I find his voice to be as soothing as the tea itself.
Another interesting book, it peaked my interest that the forward was written by king Charles 3rd. My home country even though I've been in America since 1975. It's always good to see that some decorators and designers keep the character of an older home even doing the updates. I also subscribe to Nicholas fairford I enjoy his videos and little dog Sophie and when he visits the historic homes and has afternoon tea at one of the beautiful hotels in Edinburgh. My niece lives in Edinburgh. What a lovely bride, congratulations on your daughter's beautiful wedding. Take care. Look forward to next week
Mary, you educate us about so many designers with grace. How does a person decide on design for their own home? How does one begin? A favorite piece of art or furniture or something that catches the eye? Many of the new home designs are plain and cookie cutter with no history. The bridal bouquets are exquisite. ❤
Thank you. I knew early on what I liked and what I didn't like, but when I needed inspiration, I just began by pulling paged from design magazines. After you have several pages of ideas it's fairly easy to put the puzzle together into forming what your style is.
Thank you, Mary so enjoyable, as usual. I watch many of the channels you mentioned, I especially love 💕 Rajiv’s channel, he can make washing dishes interesting. 😊
Thank you Mary for another enjoyable video! I feel like Robert Kime's soulmate❤ I have always been interested in antiquities! Watching you make those bouquets was mesmerizing! Wow, you are so articulate, they were gorgeous! Seeing the wedding photos was enchanting, how fun to plan a beautiful wedding and celebrate such a joyous occasion ❤ I watch most of the channels you watch, there may be 2 I haven't seen. I will add to the list French Vibes, Covers South of France, French Riviera and Provence, she is delightful with a soothing voice. Kristin and Joerg, 2 Germans in Great Britain, they are a quirky delightful couple who love antiques, visiting Great Britain cottages and decorating! Also a gem of a guy, Christopher Heidemann! He's excellent at decorating and truly loves his home and his Gramma, who he references often❤ See you next week!!
I adored Robert Kime's personality and love of decorating. He was such an influence on me and my personal selections. The channel House & Garden has a nice variety of videos including one on Robert Kime: At home with legendary decorator Robert Kime. The channel has an amazing array of modern English inspired designers in their homes: Carlos Garcia, Nina Campbell, Rita Konig, James Mackie, Ben Pentreath, Emma Burns, and so many more decorators, shop owners, fabric designers, and bon vivants. Cabana Magazine is another channel with good interior design videos including another Kime interview titled Cabana Presents: Portrait of a Home with Robert Kime
Hi Mary ~ Nice book review. Oh yeah, lady of many talents...I didn't know you also did flowers for weddings or other occasions. The arrangements are beautiful and loved both pictures of brides. Was one your daughters wedding? Thank you for the tips of other channels you shared. I always look forward to Friday's with Mary! I received 12 of the most beautiful long stem roses for Valentine's Day in an array of all different colors. They have opened nicely and still so lovely. Who doesn't just love real cut flowers in their world? Next week Mary ~ 🥀🌻💕
P/S I wanted to mention also, I watch some but not all of Homeworthy and my favorite of all time on homes/decor for me was: Christmas Home Tour in Boston with Elizabeth Benedict. So down to earth and just a real home. Oh and one from Mary on the Tartan Topiary, Christmas touring around her splendid home. ;)
Oh Mary! We have been so busy listing our house for sale, so haven't had a minute to sit and watch your wonderful channel. Well, the house is sold, so now we are trying to find our new home by the coast. Your beautiful video is so calming, full of interest and a welcome distraction. I adored Robert Kime. What an amazing man. I have been searching for this wonderful book. Maybe, just maybe,I will find a copy and use it to inspire our new home. The very warmest regards from England
Hi Mary, I'll be searching for a previously loved copy of this book. He was such an interesting person and is greatly missed. Love your arrangements of flowers. I can't wait for spring and all the lovely colors start popping. Until next time and thanks again for your time and always the knowledge that comes from the books, gardens and your life. Have a wonderful weekend.
I don't usually comment on videos...except for yours! I've been with you since the beginning and always look forward to your videos. This was a great book. The ability to make a room seem like it's always been that way eludes me. Beautiful bouquets. Appreciate your channel recommendations and will definitely check them out!
I feel honored by your comments. I really do appreciate them and I feel especially blessed that you were an early supporter! I hope you have a great weekend.
I just found your channel I love it watched on the big screen and it was fantastic. Funny I enjoy your bracelets and beautiful colors on your finger nails lol
Thanks for your wonderful presentation on Robert Kime. Great Interior Designer and antiquary. My note of appreciation may find you as a surprise, for I am writing to you from Lima, Peru.
Dear Dear Mary .. my cousin and I were very close. Then at are 8 she emigrated to America. We wrote for many years and then at 35 reunited as I to ended up moving to America with my wee family. Now we text. Listening to those channels I also love 90 percent of them. Watch and appreciate them all. Mary now my sister is far away but she loves your channel too especially the new ralph lauren book who she always always has adored. Bye for now. You avid listener .. Vivien
What a beautiful video! We've watched both of the French RUclips channels that you mentioned from their beginnings. I also love New England Fine Living with Linda Smith Davis, Hopalong Hollow with Jeri Landers, and lastly, Lone Fox. I'm a Carolina girl too. In the western part of the state.
Just bought this book in London at Kime and now have it back in Australia. Lovely book by a master interior decorator. I had heard that he originally wanted to call the book “Safe Houses” as that was a goal of his decorating as you alluded to…..
He was exceptional in every way! I will tell you- this book is selling for an exorbitant amount on many websites. If you are interested in purchasing one go to www.robertkime.com The shipping & handling cost is steep, but the book is selling at the retail value.
I also love many of the RUclips channels you mentioned especially Nicholas Fair ford and I will check out some of those you mentioned. Linda Vader and Linda Davis (New England Fine Living) are great inspirations for gardening and seasonal perspectives. I find that there is so much good to watch and learn from on RUclips, and I always love your videos when they get uploaded. Enjoy your weekend. It is wet, windy and cold here in Western Oregon🌷
Fantastic book review. Thank you for all your work. I enjoy it ànd takes me away from the daily routine. Inspiration of a many ideas . Congratulations to your daughter wedding. My prayers for a happy journey. AMEN
What a phenomenal book! Thank you so much for sharing! Beside your RUclips channel, I watch Alisa Burke, Joni Young, Angela Anderson, Art Fiber Stitch, Treasure Books,... I like to teach art classes in my community and these are just some of many artists I watch. I get an abundance of inspiration from these channels.
Thank you!! I was just watching and you were talking about pen pals! I loved my pen pals too! I was thinking of you today… I had a thought about you popping into my living room like Elizabeth Montgomery.. so we could have a visit like in Bewitched!! Forgive me if I’m off with names or spelling🙃 You mean a lot to me as I’m doing a lot of sitting with B C treatment. I really appreciate your show as it’s beautifully done in every way! Thank you for promoting hearth and home🏡
Thank you for watching. I wish I could pop in like Samantha! She was my idol. I would come see you for sure, and I would wear fabulous caftans like Endora (Samantha's mom)! 😁
I really enjoy Pretty In The Pines. Sydney and her young family recently moved back to a lovely neighborhood in North Carolina after living in NYC for several years. Her NYC apartment was featured on Homeworthy. I love her decorating style. I also enjoy Sydney Dorman’s channel. She bought Linda Vater’s historic home in Oklahoma City and totally redecorated it in her own style. Sydney is also a master gardener. And of course New England Fine Living with Linda Smith Davis.
Hi Miss Mary - another great book review. You are a very talented floral designer - wow, are so accomplished and nothing stops you - very admirable. Thanks for always providing the best videos. Happy weekend!🌷🌷
Fantastic, Mary. Very nice voice over and what a great subject. Robert Kime was a master and wow how many decorators get a forward by a king? How many people of any trade, for that matter, a real honor.
Just letting you know I look forward to every Friday for your videos. Avid fan. Your videos are always interesting and your voice is very relaxing. Videos that include your husband are also fun. I don’t comment very often, but I do always give you a thumbs up. I agree with you about Rajeev as well. Until next Friday…….😊
I am glad to read your comment and appreciate the thumbs up! Thank you for your encouraging words. I hope you have a great weekend. Tomorrow will be cold and cloudy here, so I'll be catching up on Rajiv and his genius!
Hi Mary,I love your channel. It is one of my favorites. Here are two of my favorite interior design Chanel’s The Potted Boxwood and Homeworthy. Both are wonderful. Also there is a wonderful British design channel called Design Notes I so enjoy your videos. It is like having tea with an old friend
Mary i do so enjoy your channel. It's among my favorites. Additionally I enjoy One called Parisienne Farmgirl. One you might also enjoy is Hopolong Hollow with Jeri Landers. She is a wonderful gardener, and lives in a primitive setting, but her wool punched creatures are something tp behold. She's very calming, and introduces wonderful Teas. lease try Harney and Sobs "Paris" tea. Delicious!!
Hi Mary your channel and Homeworthy is two of my favorites. I thought I was subscribed to your channel and when I checked I wasn’t but I am now! I always watch on the TV screen which is better to me. I love your channel. God bless you. ❤️😘💕
Hi Mary, gosh lady, you are definitely a kindred spirit! I love all of the channels you suggested. I am also obsessed with Chateau de la Ferte, Chateau Love and Escape to the dream. Thank you for your amazing knowledge and home that you share! Hugs from Utah!
Thanks Mary, you have the most beautiful story telling voice. I look forward to Fridays. I’m getting tulips 🌷 to make a version of your beautiful arrangement. 💐
Mary, long time followers but first time commenter. I love your channel and never miss an episode. I also follow the channels you mentioned-we think alike. ❤
Thank you for this book review I truly love learning about these wonderful designers which I never had time to study or read about. This one really spoke to me. My home is totally different in style then the designs in this book but it has a feeling that I can’t describe. I love the concept of having treasures that become the design and feel of a home. Yes I too feel like your channel is like we are all pen pals. I too watch all the you tube channels you mentioned my first channel to follow was Stephanie’s it will always be my first you tube love. I bought a star( in the chapel) in memory of my mother and of my uncle . His name was Joseph . I think you may like How to renovate a chateau ( without killing your partner), and Hill House Vintage, lastly is a lovely , peaceful channel with a Dutch lady living in Burgundy named Marloes her channel is French Country Life. We recently were on a road trip and I saw the sign Wilmington NC I smiled and said to my husband that’s where Mary lives! Your Pen Pal, Mary ( we share the same name)
Mary, your voice is so soothing! Thank you for sharing how to make the bridal bouque. It's so beautiful. Other than Rajiv, the other channels are new to me. I will definitely check them.
Thank you for another mervellous video! I also love Kevin Lee Jacobs channel, relaxing and with delicious recipes, Jeri Landers, a wonderful woman and artist full of passion for gardening, art, antiques… Suburban homestead, for old fasioned gardening and restoration, very informative… I also follow many of your recommendations and I will check otrers from the comments. Tank you for this opportunity to discover new things! 🥰😘
😊 I always watch château, diaries, and escape to rule France:) and (always you ❤) Maybe we were separated at birth 😂. What Dan is doing is amazing my husband never misses it. It’s also amazing to me how talented they all are. Can’t wait to see the artists working in the chapel, if I wasn’t afraid to fly I would go visit the château. The flowers you arranged turned out lovely. See you next week ❤ Loved the book 📖
Yes, Najiv, Nicolas, Quintessence, Homeworthy, Tasting History and Laura @ Garden Answer are excellent. I also enjoy How to Renovate a Chateau, New England Fine Living, Tarnished Treasures, Lynsey's Recycled Bliss and Pretty in the Pines. And, of course, Tartan Topiary! 😊
Mary, you have a wonderful channel! I am frequently interested in purchasing the books you review. An Amazon link would make it convenient and I love the idea of contributing to you. Keep up the great work!
I no longer have an affiliate link with books. I thought it might be a conflict of interest. Thank you for the kind suggestion and your desire to contribute that way. I appreciate it!
Linda Dorough Dixon/Mountain Park, Georgia/ I absolutely love your UTube channel.. Loved seeing your husband in one .. Yes I was watching the Robert Kime today and yes I really have enjoyed Nicholas Fairford so much.. He has great taste even he is in a minimalist mood these days..I know some of the Georgia ladies you have visited and have been to meetings in their homes...I have so much blue and white and rose medallion.. You and I are interested in the same treasures which is the reason I watch your show everyday..Thank you for your talent you share...
Good afternoon Mary, thank you for another wonderful book review. I love that design aesthetic - beautiful and "perfectly imperfect". In the past, I shied away from arranging flowers; you make it look so easy, so I will throw caution to the wind and try it. The worst result I could possibly get is a "lovely perfectly imperfect arrangement", right? 😂😂 One of my other favorites is also Rajiv Surendra. He is a smart, sweet and gentle soul. Like you, Mary, he is the consummate teacher who truly cares about preserving historical artifacts; his manner calming and refreshing. Thank you for being a bright relaxing part of my Friday afternoon. Blessings always.
Your comment is very thoughtful and I thank you! Trust me...if I can arrange florals, you can too. I love your optimistic view. I think I may adopt the phrase "perfectly imperfect" and try to use it daily. Who can argue with that? (other than a RUclips troll) 😁 I hope you have a great weekend!
You are so talented!! The flower arrangements are so beautiful I had a pen pal who lived in Peru. I always waited so patiently for her letters Love your channel and I'm always excited to see ❤❤❤
I would have been jealous, too! My son has a degree in Japanese and wants to live there. Hope you and Daniel and the kitties have a good weekend, too! 😊😻
Absolutely wonderful book. I have purchased many books after listening to your reviews. Unfortunately I am unable to find a copy of this book. If you come across a copy please let me know I will buy it in an instance. Thank you for all the lovely reviews you have provided over the years. I never tire of listening to them.
Laura- this book was purchased from Robert Kime’s shop in England. I think they still have copies. Try the website. Beware of shipping costs, as it can be pricey. www.robertkime.com/Book
Hi I really love your channel. The flowers were beautiful. I had to laugh because i also watch all the channels you mentioned. I guess likeminded people are attracted to ssme things.
I’m also subscribed to Nicholas Fairford and Chateau Diaries. Stephanie makes everyone feel like they’re family. I love seeing all the renovations, especially the chapel and hope she and Phillip christen it with their wedding. She makes every video a joy to watch and she’s a great informative host. Your channel is very valuable to me with your book reviews. So very helpful in deciding whether or not to purchase a book, since many don’t give previews on Amazon. I’m very disappointed that I can’t buy Robert Kime’s book since it’s $400. I didn’t see another option. 😕 Thank you again for all the great decorating book reviews.
Go directly to his website www.robertkime.com They have a few left and are listed at the retail price. It's the shipping that hurts a bit, but no where near $400!
Hi Mary , love your channel. I watch & are subscribed to several of the same channels. Take a gander at Beau Chateau. It’s wonderful, interesting & beautiful soft music. It’s about a granddaughter who inherited this French Chateau. She & her American boyfriend are restoring it with the goal to live there & use it as a wedding venue as well as other type of venues. I think you would enjoy it. I also love Brent Hull for giving me so much history around wood molding & trims. You might enjoy him as well. Thanks again.
Mary, I enjoy your channel. Your jewelry is beautiful. I am especially interested in the gold and brass pieces. Do you have a special place where they are available. Also enjoy Rajiv and Nicholas
I had three penpals, it was wonderful hearing about other cultures. One was a German boy, one a Swedish girl and the third was a Finnish girl. We exchanged stamps and coins and postcards. So sad that this is no longer a thing and I don't mean social media but the expectation of a letter or card or gift was wonderful. We had a lovely postman and he always commented on the stamps and took time to chat.
Many of the channels you mention I already follow too. You might enjoy the channel French Vibes. The channel features a lovely couple and their adorable 5 year old son who live in the south of France in a small medieval village. She shares their life in the south of France. It's a very calming and soothing channel with no pretension. I also enjoy your channel very much. Love the flower arranging. Like to see more of that.

Love them both, they are on my weekly list!❤
I subscribe to both. Another favorite is Pretty In The Pines.
I will check it out. I just recently found Linda Smith Davis and have watched several of her videos.
Linda Vater has an awesome channel, gardening decor.she is located in Oklahoma city
Oh yes!
Thank you so much again for your wonderful videos.
I love Quintessence, it's not on nearly enough!! Susanna Salk
I did add Quintessence to my list in the description for this weeks video, I will check the others you mentioned. Thanks for the suggestions!
Quintessence is lovely! I wish it was just a tad longer though!
He has such a soothing gentile voice❤
Thank you- I also love Sophie. I have 3 cats, but Sophie makes me want a dog, His channel also makes me want to move to Edinburgh! 😁
After you have several pages of ideas it's fairly easy to put the puzzle together into forming what your style is.
i cant afford to buy all those books that i longed to see. Which is why i love your flog!
I'm glad to offer that and thank you for watching!
He's excellent at decorating and truly loves his home and his Gramma, who he references often❤
See you next week!!
Okay- these are great suggestions. I'll be looking this weekend! Thank you for that!
Oh and one from Mary on the Tartan Topiary, Christmas touring around her splendid home. ;)
You are kind! ❤️ I will definitely watch Elizabeth Benedict!
Thanks for taking us thru Robert Kime's book. I must buy it, his rooms are magical to me. Your flowers are beautiful!
Another good channel is Chateau Love. Vivienne is from the US and very, very talented, you’ll love it Mary.
Thank you and I appreciate you spending time with me as you watch the video! Have a great week ahead.
We appreciate you also. What a lovely book on an amazing man.
Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina... Thanks for the channel suggestions!
Hello Mary - Tulips are my favorite and I do have them in my home weekly. Great work on the arrangements.
Thank you, my daughter keeps me on a short leash while at her shop, otherwise I would have weekly tulip arrangements also! 😁
Love Mr.R.Kime story & book great style design! Love all the" beautiful" arrangements!! Thanks for sharing your sub.'s🌷💐🌹🌺🌻🌼🌿
Thanks for watching!
Just bought this book in London at Kime and now have it back in Australia. Lovely book by a master interior decorator. I had heard that he originally wanted to call the book “Safe Houses” as that was a goal of his decorating as you alluded to…..
Kime is a particular hero of mine. Thanks for including this book.1
He was exceptional in every way! I will tell you- this book is selling for an exorbitant amount on many websites. If you are interested in purchasing one go to www.robertkime.com The shipping & handling cost is steep, but the book is selling at the retail value.
So relaxing and lovely !🥰🥰Thank you so much ! 🌼🌺🌸
Well done Mary for an excellent review❤
Lisa Emeterio is a newer channel that you may also enjoy 😊
I also love many of the RUclips channels you mentioned especially Nicholas Fair ford and I will check out some of those you mentioned. Linda Vader and Linda Davis (New England Fine Living) are great inspirations for gardening and seasonal perspectives. I find that there is so much good to watch and learn from on RUclips, and I always love your videos when they get uploaded. Enjoy your weekend. It is wet, windy and cold here in Western Oregon🌷
Fantastic book review. Thank you for all your work. I enjoy it
ànd takes me away from the daily routine. Inspiration of a
many ideas .
Thank you for those suggestions. I will definitely look at them this weekend!
Your perfection is amazing! I love the calmness in your videos.
Thank you so much!
Mary, you are a very talented artist in every little thing you do! Your channel is very enjoyable to watch! Thank you for sharing!!!
I appreciate that. Thank you so much for this thoughtful comment!
Loved this visit I particularly loved the beautiful bouquets.
I am so glad.
I love Mr. Kimes style. Antiques one could live amongst.
Thank you!! I was just watching and you were talking about pen pals! I loved my pen pals too!
I was thinking of you today… I had a thought about you popping into my living room like Elizabeth Montgomery.. so we could have a visit like in Bewitched!! Forgive me if I’m off with names or spelling🙃
You mean a lot to me as I’m doing a lot of sitting with B C treatment.
I really appreciate your show as it’s beautifully done in every way!
Thank you for promoting hearth and home🏡
She brightens my Fridays too❤
Thank you for watching.
Just my style... I love everything on this channel
Thanks for sharing this! It's a very beautiful book! I also watch some of the same channels. 💯❣️
The flowers are beautiful!
Another lovely video! What a nice way to start my Saturday morning. 😊 Thank you Mary!
Hi Miss Mary - another great book review. You are a very talented floral designer - wow, are so accomplished and nothing stops you - very admirable. Thanks for always providing the best videos. Happy weekend!🌷🌷
Each week, I look forward to seeing your channel pop up.
I appreciate that. Thank you for letting me know! 💗
Your videos are so beautiful and leave me with a feeling of peace and gracious calm. Wonderful!!
That is very nice and I appreciate the thoughtful comment!
Fantastic, Mary. Very nice voice over and what a great subject. Robert Kime was a master and wow how many decorators get a forward by a king? How many people of any trade, for that matter, a real honor.
That is quite an endorsement for sure! I would love to have seen their interactions! Thanks for watching.
Stephanie, Rajiv, and of course your channel, are my absolute favorites!
Rajiv amazes me in every way. Thank you for letting me know!
Also there is a wonderful British design channel called Design Notes
I so enjoy your videos. It is like having tea with an old friend
I look forward to seeing your book reviews and your adventures.
I'm so glad. Thank you!
Hugs in return and thank you!
Beautiful episode!❤
Thanks Mary, you have the most beautiful story telling voice. I look forward to Fridays. I’m getting tulips 🌷 to make a version of your beautiful arrangement. 💐
Thank you so much!
I appreciate that! Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment!
Beautiful Bouquets...Nice !!! Thanks for sharing!!!🌷
I follow all of those channels you are mentioning we have the same taste. Love you.
Love this book. I purchased a couple items from his auction. He had a great eye.
I’m jealous. I placed bids on a few of the textile items and random smalls, but never prevailed. The shipping is often my downfall.
😊
I always watch château, diaries, and escape to rule France:) and (always you ❤)
Maybe we were separated at birth 😂.
What Dan is doing is amazing my husband never misses it.
It’s also amazing to me how talented they all are.
Can’t wait to see the artists working in the chapel, if I wasn’t afraid to fly I would go visit the château.
The flowers you arranged turned out lovely.
See you next week ❤
Loved the book 📖
I love the channel Lady Mary Beth. She has an amazing knowledge of glassware, porcelain and visits amazing charity shops.
Thanks- I will look for her.
Bouquets look beautiful!
One of my other favorites is also Rajiv Surendra.
I’m so happy to have found your channel:) These are such beautiful segments!
I’m so happy you found the channel also. Thank you for the kind comment.
You are so talented!! The flower arrangements are so beautiful
I had a pen pal who lived in Peru. I always waited so patiently for her letters
Love your channel and I'm always excited to see ❤❤❤
I remember the waiting. It went a long way in teaching patience! 😄
I would have been jealous, too! My son has a degree in Japanese and wants to live there. Hope you and Daniel and the kitties have a good weekend, too! 😊😻
Mary, another one I recently discovered is a British lady and here is called Elegantly Knackered Style. I am enjoying it, maybe give it a try.
Your flower arrangements are stunning
Absolutely wonderful book. I have purchased many books after listening to your reviews. Unfortunately I am unable to find a copy of this book. If you come across a copy please let me know I will buy it in an instance. Thank you for all the lovely reviews you have provided over the years. I never tire of listening to them.
Laura- this book was purchased from Robert Kime’s shop in England. I think they still have copies. Try the website. Beware of shipping costs, as it can be pricey.
www.robertkime.com/Book
Oh my gosh! We watch exactly the same channels! I KNOW you must watch all the English gardening shows as well.
Hi
I really love your channel.
I enjoyed this video! Thank you Ms.Mary. Maybe you have a book of Bunny Mellon Style?
Do you have
a special place where they are available.
Thanks for letting me know about the channel and I really appreciate the feedback on the flower arranging!
