    73,000 euros and manual seats. What is that about. Does it have a heated steering wheel. BMW just going mad with their pricing and this is a small car after all. The new 5 series electric will start at 90,000 euros. Mmm. Great review Nobby. Keep up the good work.

    Another great review! I got my X1 30e (Plug-In Hybrid) three months ago and I am super happy with it.
    From what I can see this press car is iX1 is fully equipped with many optional features. I would recommend to be careful with all the boxes you click :)

      Still came in at about 68k before the boxes came out I think!

    Any reasons chosing this over a Tesla Model Y? This looks smaller than Model Y, plus paying extra 20 grand.

      It looks amazing and it's built a lot better than the Tesla. You sit higher too and have more space.

    You didn’t seem overly impressed with the car other than the acceleration, I guess it’s just a good car but nothing exceptional. Seems like the EV novelty factor is nothing special now and we are now starting to look for more than just straight line speed.

      As I mentioned in the vid, interior is nice enough, it drives well enough, it looks good but it’s like a low fat BMW in some respects.

    What kind of tyres does it have have? I had the petrol 2nd gen X1 and the run-flat tyres were indeed noisy but you just change them and the problem is fixed.

    • @NobbyOnCars
      @NobbyOnCars  11 месяцев назад

      Ah yes, spending €1000 plus to make a problem on a new car that’s €70k go away. Bargain.

      @@NobbyOnCars First of all i was simply asking a question.
      Secondly, you might eventually go for 4 season tyres which are not run-flat tyres.
      Thirdly, there are cheaper version ix1 models than this 70k car.
      In my area, all BMW get run-flat tyres. Not sure if it's the case everywhere so i was simply asking a question.
      in the end, you still didn't answer anyway, lol... are the tyres noisy or not?

    That price is mental compared to a Model Y

    • @NobbyOnCars
      @NobbyOnCars  Год назад +3

      It is. Interior in a Tesla isn’t up to BMW standards though (I also agree though not many interiors are worth that extra outlay!)

      It is only on paper. In real world BMW offers huge discounts at least in Germany. Consider as well that if you say 70k that you need to add the FSD to match the functions of the Driving assistance system professional. And then still you have only part of the functions working (no 360° cam due to missing front cam, no cross traffic alert front and rear, no autopark, no USS, no radar system etc etc). For me the IX1 was a lot cheaper than the MY RWD and has a lot more top notch options included which all work as they are supposed to do. No whiper sensor who goes wild at sunny weather, no phantom braking on highways etc. So list prices may mislead here.

    idrive 8 with no swivel wheel is a nightmare, touchscreen also a pain when trying to use on the go. The armrest is unusable, opens wrong way and to fit anything in under the floating shelf, you need to be a contortionist...suffice to say, I'm not a fan. The phone charger is good though and of course the 300bhp!

  • @conorcrowl
    @conorcrowl Год назад +1

    At that money you're in the standard X3 space so don't see the point of the iX1 in that case.
    Can we talk about the armoured vehicle in the background of where you had the car parked though haha!!

    I drive one for 3 months now it has way more better driving experience and joy then a tesla y. Yes its more expensive but its less of a computer on wheels then a tesla.

    • @NobbyOnCars

      There'll always be fans of both brands in my opinion but for now, Tesla can do all the efficiency they like and superior charging speeds/network etc but they can't match BMW in nearly every other way. That said, they are offering pretty decent value for money compared to nearly everyone else.

    BMW again have done it!. Okay, there are short falls...not least the price! 😂. Ouch! But the looks, overall quality...as expected from BMW. Of course it beats anything VW/Audi has to offer, EV wise or indeed any model. It's the price! But it has that sleeper,.Q car quality. Yep a good effort BMW.

    270km based on 100% charge I believe BMW suggests charging to 80%., temp is going to take something, and wheels will probably snag another 10% 270 goes do.8*270 You get to less than 200km pretty easily.

    • @NobbyOnCars
      @NobbyOnCars  Год назад

      Any battery such as the one used should be 20-80% unless you need more. Same as a phone, laptop etc etc

    • @craighermle7727
      @craighermle7727 Год назад

      Understood. All I'm saying is that any car manufacturer doe that. Sure people run them hotter, but let's just say that 80 is 100. The range drops by 20% correct? so 301 becomes 240, don't use aero wheels, and that drops another 20-30 miles and thent there's winter. or colder temps that a lot of people have to engure. So, 301 becomes less than 200 without too much effort. If range isn't any issue and one travles 30 miles a day. It doen't matter all much. While I intend , when I buy a Tesla, to do most of my charging in house, I still want as much rated range as possible, because the estimated range is just that. There's so many variables that can affect mileage/range. It a car has high horsepower electricially or fossil fule produced, I think most of us will tend to be a bit more enthusiastic when driving, so who knows how much "lead feet" will affect range. I know my M440 will actually get close to 30mpg at 70-75 if I' put it into eco-slug more on the highway, but I can also tell you that I can get 30 mpg avg down to 23 in less than a couple of miles

    Why would anyone need that ridiculous power? To gain 2 seconds if you’re the first at traffic lights? Which you will probably loose at the next lights. What a waste of energy, just for …. ?
