@@TotallyElectricdo you think 8.x second is poor acceleration? do you need more acceleration in normal car use? I do prefer more range rather than power and acceleration. This aspect is important for teenagers
@@marianosanchidrian4224 Yes, I think 8 seconds to 100 is very slow. especially for an electric BMW. Weather this is important or not is up to the individual driver.
Apart from acceleration, do you think that in roads with significant inclination (mountain streets) the power of the car is not enough for its weight? Thank you for your review...
With all the speed restriction we're having these days, no need to spend so much money for the bigger engine. Better spend it on options inside of the car. You don't buy such an EV for speed and acceleration I think anyway.
5:30 "This has aerodynamics of a brick". Nope ) it has Cd 0.26 - great even for sedans, that's why it does better than some sedans . And it seems to be one of ix1 benefits (making range more predictable) comparing with ex40 (e.g) which would make around 220 Wh/km in these conditions and showing ~same range with a way bigger battery. By the way Cd of a brick is 0.7 - 1.5 depending on orientation )
Hi Lars, many thanks for the video about the eDrive 20. I’m currently having a struggle in the choice for a new business lease EV, and I’ve narrowed my shortlist back to either the BMW ix1 or the Tesla Y. And i’m finding it impossible to compare both of these cars.. but how do you think they compare to each other? Specially the MY long range and the entry-level ix1 since we have a limited budget.. Regarding my choice a few things are important to find in a new car, reasonable range, enough space for a family with 3 kids and a comfortable ride. Test driving the BMW next week, so I’m curious about that experience!
The Model Y is the bigger of the two cars. If you want to BMW to compare to it, it should be the IX3. In my opinion a big difference will be in the interfaces on the inside of the car. Where the Tesla prioritizes minimalism the BMW is more of a traditional car interface.
I don’t really understand the point you’re trying to make about the Auto AC. BMW always had different levels of ventilation strength to choose from in AUTO AC, that is the horizontal control and it cannot be used to turn AC off because it’s just going down to the lowest AUTO ventilation, while in manual mode you can turn it off.
i have the eDrive 30 M sport version, I can get 16.8 kw/100km in B mode. the only thing i see problem is the parking assist, it is really quite hit and miss.
oh dear the bmw i3 was a purpose built ev this is just a fossil car conversion, NO REX No Thanks i have a bmw i3 rex which is a proper ev with no downside, public charging is not for me , playing hunt the charger that may not not work, perhaps a queue then waiting to charge , i drive a car to suit me not me suit the car so for me the i3 rex is perfect .
Finally a good review about iX1 eDrive20 thanks!
Glad you liked it!

The only thing I dislike on this car is this fake grill. They did a good job on the previous design I don’t know why they changed it for worst
Love these reviews. It's Ronnie Pickering !
One of the best test i have seen. Well done. Thanks
Thanks Daniel
Finally a review of edrive20. Thank you!
Great review... Thanks a lot!
Great review. I own one iX1 30 as a city car and I am very happy with ilikĺt fits my use, the luxury details, the handling and power.
Thanks. I always appreciate feedback from actual owners
Great review. Can u review the 2024 ID4 too please? Tks😊
great video!
Good review...BMW list this WLTP for 475km, you just get around 300km, that show the real range that I should expected.
Es gibt nirgendwo solche Erfahrungen mit edrive 20 Dankeschön dafür🇩🇪
Prefiero oírte en inglés.
Another wonderful video. Keep it up mate.
hi Lars, also loving to listen to you in English. Are you Swedish? Your sense of humour is very appreciated on these videos as well!!!

I test drove this car... Torque steer when accelerating was really bad and the ride was very uncomfortable... very disappointed 😞
Thanks for sharing
Charger flaps like the Renault Zoe from 10 years ago. Why can't others do the same

are you going to do some about Xiaomi? what's your opinion on that?
I'd love to. I hope to get access to the car some time this summer
Does anyone know what’s the ground clearance with the M suspension ?
The bmw 700 luxus had a frunk. Just saying
If you want an X1 buy a petrol one. The EV is absolutelly not there because of range mostly.
BMW i3 has a frunk.
There was a frunk in the i3!
Oh you are absolutely right! I forgot
