  • Test of driving the same route in both personal mode and efficient mode to find out what the difference is for the BMW iX1. Also a good update about actual range for the iX1.

    Again, as always another interesting and informative video. What I like about yr videos, apart from whatever aspect of the car you are investigating, is that I can use them to get to know the menu system, as I seldom give myself the time to delve into the system's intricacies.
    As regards the test. Here in Denmark we are blessed with warmer although, unfortunately, more variable weather than in Sweden, making it difficult to conduct an efficiency review of the various modes under the same constant conditions. Therefore a really great help that you made this video. Thanks for that.

    What I like about the efficient mode is that the cruise control is less aggressive in the efficient mode. What I mean by that is that in the efficient mode, the cruise control will accelerate the car up to the required speed in a gentle way, whereas in the personal mode, the cruise control will accelerate the car up to the required speed too quickly and aggressively for my liking.

    interesting to hear about the app. When my iX1 arrives i plan to link my Raspberry Pi running "home assistant" to the car via the connected drive service-the same one the apps use. If I also got a mismatch between car and phone stats, it'll be interesting to see which one the home assistant plug-in will follow. I suspect it'll be consistent with the app

    Thanks Per, another excellent video as always. I have referred to your videos more than the iX1 handbook!
    I see you did the tests in regular 'D' mode: do you think results might have been different in "B" mode, especially in Efficient? All that extra brake regeneration might have made it more worthwhile.

    • @swede-365
      @swede-365  11 месяцев назад

      Thank you 🙏 I have tested both B and the adaptive regeneration and the adaptive is more efficient and also gives you a good flow in the driving. It’s almost like autonomous driving as it adjusts for cars in front of you, curves, crossings etc.

My car will bee to my workshop next week to fix the problem with the lights. Cross my finger that they managed to solve this. I have told them to contact BMW and ask for the solution they did for M bilar in Västerås in this matter.

    • @swede-365

      Before my iX1 Fully Charged I had a Skoda Inyaq with steering wheel paddles to ajust the regeneration. Before that I had a Hyundai Ioniq with paddles. I think this option would also have been nice in BMW. After all, BMW is a drivers car, and the driver should be in control, not leave the regeneration to adaptive control which I think does not work very well. @@swede-365

    Hei. Ser at WLTP rekkevidden er 438 km. Praktisk tur som din gir altså ca 100 km mindre rekkevidde? En WLTP test skal også inneholde variert kjøring. Det har nettopp vært en vintertest i Norge nå (NAF vintertest) hvor det var mye og lange bakker ( start omtrent på havnivå og avsluttet høyt) og de kjørte bilen til den stoppet. Resultatet på din test var omtrent som denne vintertest. Det virket som du hadde relativt flat vei så trodde du skulle kommet noe lengre. Venter på ix1 i april😊

    • @360theosiris
      @360theosiris 5 месяцев назад

      You are talking a about a massive battery. I seriously doubt this could make any difference. What do you think would affect this? Higher CPU load? It would be absolutely negligible. Same as charging your phone while driving. Think of your car as a giant freezer capable of massive energy consumption. Your navigation, phone, … in comparison is the tiny Led on the freezers display, consuming a tiny fraction of all that power. Again, negligible..
      Also, I own an iX1 and frequently alternate betwee Waze/Gmaps through carplay and the built in navigation. Totally within expectations, it makes 0 difference.
