A budget luxury SUV? BMW X1 2023 review | Better than Audi Q3, Mercedes GLA & Volvo XC40?

  • The 2023 BMW X1 could reach new heights against rivals like the Volvo XC40, Audi Q3 and Mercedes-Benz GLA.
That's because the third generation of the popular German-built premium small SUV is better than ever, and it has lost its compromised Mini Countryman underpinnings this time around, too.
The question that Byron Mathioudakis went into this launch drive with was, "does the BMW X1 finally feel like a BMW to drive?" And you're going to have to watch the video to find out what he thinks, but it's fair to say this larger, more premium, more technology-focused and more value-packed iteration of the small SUV from Munich is a more competitive offering than ever before...

Has BMW's reliability improved at all? Due to their poor reliability and costly parts, BMWs are losing popularity in the US. I rarely see BMWs on the roads here in Arizona.

The elephant in the room being the official fuel consumption is a fantasy figure. Having test driven the XC40 (similar consumption as the laws of physics applies to both) it's official consumption is way off from real world to the extent it's verging on criminality. I believe climate change is being driven by C02 emmisions so I'm going to do my bit and buy a diesel.

Why compare a car that burns while driving with anything else? BMW burns.

BMW warranty in UK is poor. BMW Phev's have only a 6 year /62500 miles warranty, well below the 8 years /100000 miles warranty offered by competitors. Hidden away in smallprint.
