I think Patrick's concept is extremly effective.. it looks good on most products, its easy to read and saves you alot of time and money to produce. it also gives the illusion that it has more colour when you're looking at the thickness of the lines that flow in the same direction. Then there's also the fact that its made in vectors, which means that the files take a low amount of HDD space and takes almost no time to load in illustrator. instant win..
Oh wow, this guy is something else. Thank you guys for introducing him to us. His work is incredible, I'm curious on how long it takes him to do an art piece, and what techniques and practices he uses to maintain effectively and consistency.
Thanks for having 'The Patrick Seymour' @thefutur , his work is amazing & inspirational. Please do keep interviewing super contemporary Artists like Patrick and Orlando.
I'm a graphic design student from Québec city and I admire Patrick Seymour. I wish I can meet him in a near future. It's so cool to see him featured on your channel!
The Futur I would love to meet him too..... I know you guys would have bring him to Blind Office for the interview but I think maybe he’s shy or too busy for now..... now I know he’s a shy person
There was an American actor named Philip Seymour Hoffman, and so seeing Patrick Seymour I was a bit confused, also because of the intro but I really enjoyed this piece all the same! blessings to the futur !
He was using the pen tool primarily with a fill and no stroke. Interesting as everyone else seems to use the pen tool primarily with a stroke and no fill. He is great!
This guy is a genius, his works are amazing...... I think I will start doing his type of work but I’m using Corel draw, I will need to learn how to use adobe Illustrator very well Can you give me any reference on how to use the pen tool like he uses it?
Glad to see people from Montreal being interviewed by you guys! One thing though, I don't think you should use a French voice from France to do Patrick's voice. Accent from Canada and France are completely different. Like US and UK. Maybe just use his real voice and add subtitles? Sounded weird to me.
Great video. Great shirt. Great artist. I too thought that RUclips directed me to a clip from a show 🤣 maybe add some cheesy TV effects next time? Just make it more obvious.
excellent work....I wanna ask you question that he is the person who specialises in life in pen tool in his working field, but some places people hiring alrounder like developer, designer, coder, 3rd artist, illustration, why is this must to run in the design field. people hiring not those people who have one ability, people want minimum 5 or more so Sir Chris what you suggest for beginners and those confused people what to do, I want your opinion that one field is good or multiple field master?
I can rant about that a lot, but to sum it up. NEVER go for companies that want you to be 5 things at the same time, they are just cheap and want to abuse designers. If you want to become really good at something you should focus in one area that you love and perfect it, just like him in the video
Thank you E¢anVisuals! that what I am thinking about so many times but these companies confuse me when I wanted to take a step, I suffered a lot from these companies, But after a long search I just reached here on this Inspired channel, I feel better my self, so today I write a question to Sir Chris, and also thank you to you-you courage me,
you need to attain some level of mastery if you want to stand out. how you get there can take many paths. it's up to you to find the right one for you. Patrick worked on his own time to hone his style and craft.
Nice work, with all my respect, And I don't want to be hater I don't want to be meaning, Love this channel, I'm a great fan of Chris do and his philosophy, I just want to be objective, so, in my personal aprertiation his work is not so fantastic as everybody thinks, it's just a popular artist, his work is not even minimalism it's simple, simplicity (that's a difference), do you remenber those Sesame street's scenes where the characters made some art craft like a mask covered with beans and things like that, well, the brain loves "paraidoleas" (I don't know how to say that word in English, basically is to see shapes and forms in things like the clouds) I think what people is enjoying with his work is the fact that there is face made in lines, but obviously it doesn't invalidated his work at all, there is absolutely nothing to feel attracted for his work, he can make a doodle tomorrow shared on Behance and it will be featured for sure, because it's a name supported by lot's of followers, that makes me wonder, is there bad famous illustrators and good famous illustrators as in Hollywood there are famous good actors and bad famous actors? looks like in the creative world the word good has mutated to "popular", I don't see rhetoric form, I don't "read" any message in his work, I don't see creativity, I don't see nothing but the same face over and over again, even in the video the most we watched was the faces and on his Behance the most of his featured works is related with the "face formula"... as digital successful case it's very interesting, anybody else thinks that the creative community has a very important trouble to understand the meaning of the word "Illustration" in this days, I can understand that because even the dictionary academy can't describe the word correctly (at least in the royal academy of Spanish language), ok that's all. And now to be more constructive, I would like a video about the copyright laws for freelance and independents creative creators. thank you for share this video. My apologies for my bad English.
I guess we see and appreciate different things. he has a massive following not because he's some famous name. people like me love his work and therefore he caught the attention of companies like adobe and artists like usher.
You do realize people get famous for a reason right? He didnt just randomly get famous and is now getting his stuff featured for being famous

I see your point Ali, so, you saying is: to be famous is synonym on and guaranty of excellence?, bro, that's exactly my point, it is not the same, let me tell you a quick silly example: Kim Cardassian ¿is she excellent in something, does she has a particular artistic or cultural relevant skill? no, she's only famous, because her formula to be famous works, there is a very deep topic about how the communication and fame works in the current time (but I can't talk about it here, is too long) if you pay attention to the video, the artist even don't know how make his work using the properly method, to make a design (yes, that's not illustration at all) like that is so easy, you just need to create a triangle shape horizontally and became that shape a path, later you'll can do that nice traces almost automatically, but it won't look so "pro" or "impressive" if he do it like that, right?, any way, I respect your point and maybe you are right and I'm not, what matters here is that this cannel is so cool, see you around bro, peace! :)

Hi there! ok, that's my point, let me talk you about about me quickly, I work for Microsoft, Amazon, Corriere della Sera....among other famous brands, I even had the privilege to be inited by Adobe to be artist tester of the new Adobe Illustrator CC 2018, Do I deserved to be famous for that, absolutely no! why? because I'm not excellent, my work don't take the illustration discipline to another level, my work is just nice. what I'm trying to say is the people are not paying attention on how the fame formula works in the current time, to be famous is not guaranty of excellence, any way, the video is very cool, very inspiring like always, and I learn a few important things, and what is what really matters, keep the great work you are doing and thank you for that! peace! :)
Excellence is not all about technical skills Jhonny. I can be the master of every tool in Illustrator and it will never be enough to make me famous. What I need is an idea, a unique one. Something that will stand out. It does not need to be extremely difficult to do. The simplest thing is sometimes better than the most complicated ones. How you express it is the important thing. Patrick had that idea, did it, tried his luck and it work. It could be the color, it could be the lines, it could be anything for all I know. The important thing is a lot of people loved the idea. It’s not about the difficulty or the skills needed to create the artwork. A lot of artist can replicate what Patrick did, but they will never would have thought of it. That made his works amazing.
bwebwebwebwebwe... god damn that "music" is aanoying. Do you want us to hear what you talk about? Clarity has a big impact on graphic design. Maybe you should consider that next time you want to add music to your video... the music does not help in ANY way.
I think Patrick's concept is extremly effective.. it looks good on most products, its easy to read and saves you alot of time and money to produce. it also gives the illusion that it has more colour when you're looking at the thickness of the lines that flow in the same direction. Thank you it's really appreciated.

Thanks for having 'The Patrick Seymour' @thefutur , his work is amazing & inspirational. Please do keep interviewing super contemporary Artists like Patrick and Orlando.

Mind BLOWN when I saw his work. Insane
I'm a graphic design student from Québec city and I admire Patrick Seymour. I wish I can meet him in a near future. It's so cool to see him featured on your channel!
he's very shy.
The Futur I would love to meet him too..... I know you guys would have bring him to Blind Office for the interview but I think maybe he’s shy or too busy for now..... now I know he’s a shy person
this video is smooth, it holded my attention
There was an American actor named Philip Seymour Hoffman, and so seeing Patrick Seymour I was a bit confused, also because of the intro but I really enjoyed this piece all the same! blessings to the futur !
He was using the pen tool primarily with a fill and no stroke. Interesting as everyone else seems to use the pen tool primarily with a stroke and no fill. He is great!
it's about drawing w/ shapes and not lines.

The Futur wow lol that is fast.
Glad to see people from Montreal being interviewed by you guys! One thing though, I don't think you should use a French voice from France to do Patrick's voice. Accent from Canada and France are completely different. Like US and UK. Maybe just use his real voice and add subtitles? Sounded weird to me.
i got very confused until it said it was an interpreter lmao
he didn't record a voice. he just wrote his response. we did the best we could eh?
can you upload his full creative process on youtube

I too thought that RUclips directed me to a clip from a show 🤣 maybe add some cheesy TV effects next time? Just make it more obvious.

Lol at the intro
To create Le perfect curves I saw le wamens for inspirassion
Looks like he's using a pre CC version of Illustrator
how can you tell?
Sorry, having looked more closely he's on CC 2017. The light theme threw me. Thanks for the video!
he sounds like a google AI
it's not his voice. we hired someone to read his responses.
The Futur Ahhhh ok!
Who is the French-speaking actor in the clip? Looks so familiar and now it won't leave me alone 😑
Melissa Claasen we hired someone to read what Patrick wrote.
The Futur 😊 I mean the image of the actor near the start of the clip when the voice-over mentions French-speaking actors ☺
@Melissa
Vincent Cassel
stef heendrickxen ah thank you!! 😊
If you didn’t do it by hand, I’m not interested
He sounds like computer HA
bwebwebwebwebwe... god damn that "music" is aanoying. Do you want us to hear what you talk about?
Clarity has a big impact on graphic design.
Maybe you should consider that next time you want to add music to your video... the music does not help in ANY way.
