It really is a game changer! I love doing the waterslide wraps!
They are gorgeous and she has a big selection to choose from.
She really does and she comes out with new designs every week!
Thanks for sharing! I can’t wait to get started!

I just watched your videos. I think maybe you need to come to Kansas and show me how to do these. Your Videos are very self-explanatory but sometimes you have questions. Thank you so very much for making this video
I'm so glad you found my video helpful! I don't mind answering questions so please feel free to message if you need to ask any! 😊
@@KristisCustomCreations I just made some pens. Having trouble getting them to dry. It’s like 12-15 hrs. Also I put vinyl on one and the corners are curly up. What did I do or what did I not do. Thanks in advance
Love all of your videos! The pens have been a HUGE success for me since I found you! Thank you so much for all that you share with us so freely! Going to check out Critter Cup Customs now :)

@@KristisCustomCreations I really never thought they would take off like they did but, I was so wrong!! LOL, I've only had 2 cup orders since I made up some pens and put them on my page; everyone wanting pens now :) A welcome change from the cups BUT, I do miss the cups. I have a sneaky feeling this coming holiday season we will all be bombarded with cup AND pen orders :) BRING IT ON!! Oh, I do have a question about the pens....how can we strip them if need be like we can the cups. Thanks in advance :)
YES! Same for me! I have been bombarded with pen orders. To the point where I only open up for orders for about 4 hours, once a month. I'm really loving making them though. I have not personally stripped one but someone in my Facebook group did strip one and posted pics of it after. It worked out for her. You should join my FB group if you haven't yet! Thanks and thanks for watching!
Absolutely love your tutorials, have learned so much from you, quick question after putting on wrap the ends were white and then after you epoxyed they were red or yellow? Do we need to spray paint the ends where the clicker is to blend wrap to ends?
I'm so sorry for the late response! I'm just now seeing your question. I just took a little bit of acrylic paint and added it to the end of the pen with a paintbrush before epoxy. I hope that answers your question and again, I'm sorry for the late response. I don't know how I missed your question before.
Hi, what own are you using? This don’t look like the paper mate pens you linked. Tfs. They came out really pretty.
They are just the regular papermate inkjoy pens 😊 this video is a few years old but when I originally linked them, they were linked correctly
I just double checked the link and they are linked correctly
I want to learn to do this love it👏💜

Do you have a video to share how you put the glitter on your pens and which glitter did you use.
Love your pens...can you give me the steps for the first part how you prep before laying the water slide. Thank you so much.

You're very welcome! Thanks for watching!
Awesome! Are you able to trim excess off the pen before it dries?
The excess waterslide? You can cut it but it might try to tear if you use a blade.. cutting it with scissors seems to work best.
Awesome
Thank for watching!!!!!
Hi there! Love your videos! You mention if you have a laser printer you don’t have to seal, why is that?
Hey there! Thank you so much! Not sure what it is about the laser printers/paper but the ink doesn't run with a laser printer on the laser waterslide. With inkjet, the ink will run and disappear if not sealed. I hope this helps!
I was confused what did you spray with the spray ? The paper or the pen?
I sprayed the waterslide paper to seal in the ink.
Do you spray with clear coat before u put them in water
These are so pretty. How do you get your downloads all to print on the same document so that you save on paper?
I just position them in my silhouette studio program and I can fit 10 on one piece of waterslide paper. You can also put them in a Word document and print from there.
Beautiful pen. Jhw many coats of epoxy did you put on?
Those are beautiful. I ordered some waterslide from the link you posted, but for some reason the length is a tad bit shorter than the pen. I don't understand how your waterslide was a perfect fit. How do you change the measurements? TIA
I size mine to 1.5 x 4.75. They will be a little shorter than the pen, mine are in this video too. I usually just color the tip of the pen with a little acrylic paint to match the waterslide if needed.
Love this. What do you use to display your pens?
I got them on Amazon, there were a few different styles to choose from 😊 amzn.to/3kdGYoL
Thank you 😀
@@SimplySallam you're very welcome! 🥰
That’s soo cool
Thanks!!!
Hi this is very neat, can this method be done with pens that are spray painted?
Someone from Blinggasm is going to reach out to you!! 🙂
Sounds great!
what kind of epoxy do you use on pens ? do you have video on how to make the things your pens were on turning ?
What red did you use on the crime scene? It looked like you painted it off camera maybe?
Yes! I completely forgot to add that part to the video in my voiceover. 🤦🏼♀️ I just used a red acrylic paint from Apple barrel (which I got on Amazon) that I had. It doesn't match perfectly but it's pretty close!
What program do you use to lay out your 10 images? I have already ordered 9 plus the grab bag of the wraps!!!
I use the Silhouette Design Studio to size and lay out my wraps. It's actually a free program that you can download on their website so you don't have to actually have a Silhouette to use it.
Of using the epoxy method on prepping your pen, would you suggest a second coat of epoxy before putting on the water slide?
Yes, I always make sure that my pen is very smooth with no bumps before putting on the waterslide.
How do you make the top flat? I use the exact measurements except at the top it lifts a little. Do you flatten it or cut the excess?
I just flatten it but you can cut little slits in to the top of the waterslide to help it lay down a little easier.
@@KristisCustomCreations thank you! You’re the best!!!
@@kjeamc3729 you're very welcome! 🥰
How long do you wait in between coats when sealing? And how long did you let it dry before placing in water?
I usually let it dry approximately 15 to 20 minutes between coats. I make sure that it is completely dry before I apply another coat. Before placing it in water, I let my water slide dry for at least an hour and a half but I really prefer to let it dry overnight if possible.
So amazing do u have the designs to download to print ?
After purchasing the designs on Etsy, you just download it then print on a waterslide paper.
I just bought a bunch for pens I haven’t even made! 🤪
LOL! Be sure to join my Facebook group (if you haven't yet) because I would love to see your pens once you make them!!!!

What's printer do you have? I'd love to get one!!
I have the HP Envy Photo 7155 and I got it from Amazon amzn.to/3sjlBF0
I love it! It has been such a great printer!
What spray do you use to seal them? Do you seal before you out in the water??
I use Rustoleum 2x Gloss clear to seal them and I seal them 4 times before putting them in the water.
Hi Kristi I'm getting ready to start making these pens. I applied to join your FaceBook page. You mentioned sealing the waterslide, is that right after you print them before applying to pen?
Thanks for joining! Yes, if you print the waterslide with an inkjet printer then you will need to seal it 3-4 times with clear spray paint
@@KristisCustomCreations thank you.
@@KristisCustomCreations how much time do you allow in btw coats of the clear spray? for some reason my waterslides tend to smear when I touch them while trying to reposition them. I mess up like 2 of 4 waterslides.......haven't figured out yet how to get them on perfect every time. idK if it's too much spray or too long in the water or what the problem is.......any advice
@@kimjackson6756 I have found that spring four coats of clear sealant works best. The first two coats are very light coats and then the last two coats are heavier coats. I wait until the water slides are completely dry to the touch. I probably wouldn't apply a water slide until the following day after spraying just to make sure that it is super dry.
What the name of program you use it
Do you coat them with the 4 coats of clear if you are going to epoxy them? If so when do you do that?
I spray the water slides with 3-4 coats of clear and let completely dry before applying epoxy. I spray them after printing the water slides and the ink has completely dried. I hope that answers your question.
Do you recommend a white background for the water slides?
If you use clear waterslide then yes, I would recommend using a white or really light colored background.
is it ok if i use microsoft word? thanks
Yep! You can use Microsoft word to print them 😊
So once waterslide is applied you spray it?? 4 times? Then Epoxy?? I got confused with that.
You spray seal the waterslide before you apply it to the pen. If you don't seal it first, the ink will run in the water. I hope that answers your question.
Can you use digital paper downloads for wraps or waterslides
What paint did you use ? It looks holographic on the pen😍
I just used a plain white paint but then I put a white opal glitter on over the first layer of epoxy and burnished it down, which gave it a holographic / opal look.
@@KristisCustomCreations omg thank you so cute! Good idea!
@@nayelimaginee7929 you're very welcome! In this tutorial I used a color called opalina for the white from Bee Jay's Glitter but I actually just started my own glitter line and my color unicorn dreams is perfect for it. It's currently out of stock because it's such an amazing white opal but it will be back in stock next week.
@@KristisCustomCreations Ouu nice I’ll check it out! Thank ya ma’am
How do you what to make the width? Sorry for the silly question just wondering how you figured that out.
Not a silly question at all. Critter Cup Customs recommends those measurements. If you take a string and wrap it around your pen then measure that string, it will show you the exact size that you need. I made mine 1.5" because it was recommended but you may have to adjust that slightly depending on how thick your epoxy/glitter is. I hope that answers your question.
What kind of printer do I need 2 print these ?!?
I just use a regular HP Inkjet printer
Did you download the waterslide to your shiloute program or to a different program
I download the images right to my Silhouette program and also print them onto waterslide paper from my Silhouette program.
How did you get your dowel rods so far into you pens? Mine only goes in about 1/4" and I'm using 1/4" rods. Love your videos!
Thanks for watching! I use 1/4" dowel rods that I purchased on Amazon and they slide up in there perfectly. That's strange that yours don't
@@KristisCustomCreations I got mine from Amazon too. I had to rewind a couple of times to be sure I was seeing yours right. It is strange.
@@belindaarmstrong1612 yeah that is strange because I have purchased 4 different packs from Amazon and they all fit the same.
Are your pens with just glitter already or glitter and epoxy?
Glitter then epoxied until smooth 😊
how many times did you coat these with epoxy since you are working with waterslide.
I believe I coated them a total of 3 times
Do you know where refills for the inkjoy pens are available? Amazon wanted $17 for 3 pens! Little outrageous.
Yes, Amazon has gotten ridiculous on their pricing on the pens! 🙄 I still bought my refills from Amazon but the Arteza refills were not available last time I checked. I bought the Pentel refills last amzn.to/3py4nnh
How long between drying times for the restolium sray paint
The water slide blinggasm link is white water slide paper ?? It says in product description clear or white but the only option is white🤔 is there somewhere else I can purchase?
They have actually started selling mainly from their website. You can get it at www.blinggasm.com and the coupon code "KRISTI" will give you 10% off your purchase. 😊
I need a pen made…. Is it possible to get one that is custom with a picture on it?
You can have them made with pictures on them but unfortunately I am not accepting any orders at the moment.
Kristi, I’m finally braving waterslides. I followed your link to buy the clear waterslides and for some reason it only shows you to choose white? I tried looking it up and it was the only thing that showed up. Are they the same? I just want to verify I purchase the clear for inkjet.
If you are wanting to buy clear then def make sure to get clear waterslide. I just checked and it looks like the link is defaulting to white waterslide because the clear is out of stock. You can find the clear at www.blinggasm.com and if you use the coupon code BLING, you get 10% off your purchase.
@@KristisCustomCreations Thank you for all your help!
How long do you leave each layer of clear spray dry? Thank you
The first two layer dry super quick because they are really light coats so only about 15 minutes between the first two coats. For the third (and possibly 4th) coats, I give it at least an hour because I make those coats much thicker.
@@KristisCustomCreations thank you so much!!
@@lisaann1531 you're very welcome!
Will these fit the medium tip pen?
can this be done on printable vinyl instead of water slide paper?
Yes ma'am! It can be!!!!!
how do you get the water slide to wrap and lay flat at the curve side. i had to spray mines down a different color.

@@nightwingcreations LOL, you're very welcome!
do you spray waterslides with plastic dip was wondering because my waterslides I buy always rip on me when applying to the pen
I don't use plastic dip personally but I've heard that it works well. I like to put about 4 layers on the Rust-oleum 2x gloss clear on my waterslides and I don't have any issues with ripping (my 4th coat is pretty thick).
I’m confused... you used epoxy in the video. Do you spray them before or after epoxy? Or is it one or the other?
@@amandaramirez5986 you spray your water slides before you put them on the pen if you have an inkjet printer. If you don't, the ink will not stay on your waterside paper and will come right off when you put it in the water. I hope this answers your question.
What size are our waterslides
They are 1.5" x 4.75" 😊
do you have to seal with rustolem?
If you print from an inkjet printer then yes, you will need to seal. There are numerous different products that you can seal with but my personal favorite is the Rustoleum 2x gloss clear. If they aren't sealed then the ink will just come off when it hits the water.
I have a silhouette cameo. How do you get your images all the same size for your pens?
I individually sized each item to be 1.5 inch by 4.75 in and they fit the pens perfectly.
Some artists have said to seal waterside after cutting out.
What do you think? Any concern about the edges?
Hope you haven't already answered. I try to read all comments first. 😀
LOL!!! I REALLY appreciate you reading the comments first but your question hasn't been asked yet. I always seal before cutting the image/wrap out. I have found that if I seal after cutting it out, it always makes the images kind of want to stick to the edges more and makes it harder to release. You could honestly do it both ways but I definitely prefer to seal before cutting.
and if your wanting to add a name with vinyl how would you do that?
You would probably need to put a light coat of epoxy over the waterslide before adding vinyl or else you risk tearing your waterslide.
Aersom
:)
When I place in water my ink seems to be coming off an I not letting dry enough?
Are you spray sealing your waterslides?
@@KristisCustomCreations I am now and letting dry. And it’s working. Thank you so much
@@VaSlim84 great! You're very welcome!
Once you buy designs can you keep using them
Yes Ma'am.. it is a digital design so you can use it as many times as you want once you purchase it.
Do the edges overlap each other at this size?
They overlap just slightly but barely. My glitter was not thick at all since I just burnished it on but if I had done a regular coat of Glitter like I normally do then it would have been perfect.
How do you prep you pens for water slides?
I always put at least one coat of epoxy on my pens before I put on waterslides. If it's glitter underneath then I glitter then epoxy until smooth then put the waterslide on. If it's a solid color (no glitter) then I paint the pen and epoxy over that before applying the waterslide.
I went and bought several water slides but I’m confused..
So there are like three on a sheet. How do we put different images on one page like you do?
I just copy and paste (or upload) all the images onto one page, make sure they are the correct size, then fit as many on one page as I can, then print :)
Hi! Brand new to this. If I buy the style do I just put the water slide paper into the printer and print from hp printer and dip in water and just place on pen? I do not need a cruicut?
Also, what would I need to print out the names? What type of paper to print on and can I use my HP printer ?
What printer are you using?
I use an HP Envy 7155 but you don't have to have a fancy printer for it.. just something that prints decently. Here's a link to the one I bought: amzn.to/3bPeEFk
What program do you use to edit and print?
I use my Silhouette program 🥰
How do you fit that many one 1 page????
I am SO sorry that I am just now seeing your question! I don't know how I missed it. I use the Silhouette Design Studio to lay out all of my wraps and by doing it that way, I am able to put 10 on there. It's actually a free program that you can download on their website so you don't have to actually have a Silhouette to use it.
