It would be nice if Gopro has kept digging the Hero Session format. Still using the 5 a lot and it has the perfect format with the waterproof SD inside the main unit. 120 fps would be niiiice with the hypersmooth and a newer lens. I need to try this one, it might fit.

I think what you are looking for is the Insta360 One R, you can also get the 1 inch mod that shoots in 5.3k you can shoot in LOG which make the footage *chef's kiss*. And the best part is... IT HAS BEEN OUT FOR 2 YEARS NOW
It's probably been an idea that got canned in lieu of the modular system. I wouldn't put it past DJI engineering to have thought about that, only to think it wasn't efficient.
Again DJI stepping out of the box to innovate, which is deeply appreciated, the camera itself lacks some things but overall always nice to see something different on the market.
2 years behind the GoPro HERO10. Major issues with DJI Action 2: - overheating - no SD slot in main camera body, so if you run out of storage you need to tether and dump to a computer - no 5.3K - RockSteady not as good as GoPro - expensive - only 12MP still photos The bottom line for us is while the "key opinion leaders" all ran through the specs and are promoting the Action 2 in a separate affiliate program (DJI shut down it's main affiliate program in May) almost NONE of the KOL's are saying anything really positive about the Action 2.

I was really keen to reach for my wallet but wait - if you want the four mics, you need the front screen unit. If you want to use a memory card, you need the battery unit. So by the time you've got the equivalent of a GoPro, you've got a rather large and expensive piece of kit. I'm starting to rethink my planned purchase... it's a great concept but the card should have been in the screen unit and the extra battery should have just been... a battery. Fatal flaw, methinks. (Edit - I'm wrong - there's a slot in the screen unit. I've ordered.)
I saw this video and I said “oh shit it’s like the 360 1R!” But after watching it I fully agree. The GoPro hero 10 is the better buy. It’s a more functional package. DJI missed the mark here
*They should of made it slightly taller to accommodate the sdcard slot. This is a major flaw. There should be sdcard slot in the front screen module aswell.*

I'm afraid this is a hard pass for me. I appreciate thinking differently but in my opinion they've taken a few steps backwards and made a system that's significantly worse than the competition. I'm a MTBer and the key things I look out for are battery life, ease of editing (SD card), toughness (including a replaceable lens if possible), waterproofness and audio. The Gopro Hero10 has all of the above, the Insta360 One X2 has all of the above minus replaceable lenses (though I've got lens protectors on which is a decent alternative)...the Insta360 also has the advantage of being a great 360 OR pov camera and I love I can film POV and choose landscape for youtube or portrait for Instagram reels from the same footage. This DJI doesn't have replaceable batteries which is a deal breaker for me, it's not waterproof with an SD card unless I also get a bulky waterproof case which kills any decent audio I could've got and it doesn't have a replaceable lens. It's a tough sell to make me want this camera for my uses.

In Australia, it's AUD $799 on DJI's site, for the combo, even including tax and conversion from USD to AUD it should be close to AUD $759, that's an extra AUD $40. Good to see "The Australia Tax" is alive a kicking. Sigh !!!

Gopro has basically a 1300 battery and shoots 1.5 hours at 1080p... that's almost 2.5x the size of this... so 4k 60fps, image stabilization, with a small battery... 15-20 minutes tops sounds probably accurate
fyi: vlogging with a smaller camera has no effect at all on self conscious public filming. i wasted money on an Osmo Pocket thinking the size would help with public filming confidence, it doesn’t.

Pro tip: Move to Germany. It's mostly cold here = no device overheating problems due to natural cooling.

battery of the camera module: 580mah -- maybe thats one reason they dont put a sd card slot on it～ cause it dies very soon.
