Steam Boiler Retubing - SteamWorks

Today we are taking a brief look at a complex process required when steam boiler tubes need to be replaced. When boilers tubes develop an abundance of scale or have been subject to pitting or other severe corrosion a re-tubing becomes necessary. Re-tubing of a steam boiler is exactly what it sounds like. The tubes (Heating surface) are removed and new ones are replaced. Often times a re-tubing of a boiler will have the boiler in like-new conditions.
Only qualified boiler repair professionals should perform these retubing processes as defined by the NBIC. These organizations will hold a certification known as an "R" Stamp.
