I sincerely appreciate that you did not drag this video out for like 30 minutes just to get this to-the-point information across! Honestly, your points/miles explanations are always so easy to digest and when it comes to little updates like this it's nice to see you aren't over explaining just to drag this out. So, thank you! With that said, glad I have the Venture X card haha, just got to check out the new Denver Lounge and it was really nice - not overcrowded by any means which felt different. So at this point I don't see it as any issue but I don't really fly through airports with their lounges much. Hope more open soon.
Definitely experienced overcrowding issue at the Cap1 lounge in DFW recently and had to wait about 30 min to get in. I won’t be surprised if they cut the extremely generous guest and authorized user lounge access in the near future.
During my recent visit to the Capital One Lounge at DFW, I noticed a woman with two quite sizable grocery shopping bags, actively stuffing them with snacks and sandwiches. I couldn't help but perceive this as a rather selfish and distasteful behavior. Therefore, if the Capital One Lounge were to raise the annual fee or implement charges for extra cardholders, I would support such a decision
So wouldn't it just be easier to limit the amount of food you can take FROM the Lounge? Why would you raise the prices because of 1% of the Lounge Visitors? SMDH
Since I was denied by Vx a few times, I was going for a Venture card. And hope they offer upgrade options (I heard some received). But now, that's closed. Bummer! Crowding is real problem and they need to figure it out fast. All Im saying is...they need to build more business/first class lounges more. Like AA flagship lounges and United Polaries. And BTW what is up with Chase Lounge being part of the Priority network? Lame Love all your videos Max. Probably the best credit card/travel channle in youtube. Very educational. I typically enjoy all your step by step "how to" videos!
Free food and free drinks and people go crazzzzy , even if the food is not that good haha. (Only exception is the capital one lounge food is actually pretty good)
Went to Centurion Lounges both in SFO and Las Vegas at peak times yesterday and both had no line and plenty of seating, so clearly whatever AMEX has done has reduced crowding, maybe Capitol One wants to do the same. Been to Centurion lounges over 10 times this year and never once had to wait.
@@MaxMilesPoints I've heard that can be an issue at some of the smaller Centurion lounges (LAX, Seattle). SFO last year doubled the size of the Centurion lounge and it's made a massive difference. Houston, Denver, Vegas have pretty big lounges and I haven't noticed crowds there either.
@@varunkamat7390 I waited in line at the LAS twice within the last two weeks . That’s where the photo in the video is from. It was way 9:30am. It also comes down to the times you visit too I guess not just the lounge size
@@MaxMilesPoints Interesting. I took an 8 AM flight out of SFO yesterday no line and then a 7 PM flight out of LAS with no line so maybe just the days Ive been lucky as you said. I prob don't fly nearly as often as you do either. .
Went to Capital One Lounge in Dulles and it was really crowded. That happened very fast. I agree that it is highly likely that Authorized user cards lose lounge access and it will be announced in 2024.
I have a feeling that EVENTUALLY all lounges will be going 1 direction: Access ONLY available to Business Class + First Class passengers + Million Miles Flyers. With any credit card access to lounges, overcrowding is always going to be an issue as A LOT of people can afford those credit cards. Thus, exclusivity is long dead.
Funny how you posted a pic of CL in LV. Ive never had a problem there, but thats probably because I take 8 AM or earlier flights. But, yeah that lounge is CRAZY busy almost 24/7. Getting in without an hour wait is just like hitting a jackpot at the airport slots.
I have a super old (first cc ever) c1 miles card that even though hasn’t changed in product name, I get many of same benefits as spark/venture including the 2 passes. Have yet to use them with their limited locations.
Love the lounge access on the Venture X, I really hope they don’t change it! But it’s so good it’s kinda hard to believe they won’t nerf it at some point haha. The Venture X Priority lounge access still comes with unlimited guests right? Some people have debated me on this recently and at a surface level look it seems like only 2 guests, but when you read the terms it just says ‘complimentary guest access’. I wonder if they will pull that back first.
C1 finding out in real time just how difficult it is to play the lounge game. It took them two whole years to launch the second lounge they advertised when they launched VX. Everyone knew that the VX benefits were unsustainable and it was a matter of when not if they would pull the rug. Today's video is about the lesser C1 cards but agree VX changes are inevitable. VX cardholders should keep enjoying everything while it lasts, and hope a new disruptor steps up in a couple of years. We had CSR disrupting back in 2016, then C1 VX in 2021. Who's next?
As far as I know J tickets flying Korean, Lufthansa or Finnair for DFW capital one lounge Are there other airlines? They likely did this due to contractural reasons since the lounges are operated by Plaza Premium
DFW capital one lounge is constantly packed. This is a much needed change. I always thought access was way too generous. Imagine you have the venture x card and you have to go on a waitlist because a bunch of freeloaders are clogging it up.
If my flight from TPE to JFK gets delayed initially then canceled and requires me an over night stay, will the Venture X cover me for the food, hotel, etc up to $500 if I booked an award ticket and paid the taxes and fees?
This is because for some reason, C1 users see a need to overuse and abuse lounge access like it's cool. This is especially why C1 did away with the restaurant and spa portion of the lounge access because people were going there daily instead of using as intended only when you travel, I really don't blame them.
Capital One Venture X card holders can have up to 4 authorized users, not 1. Each of the AUs can bring in 2 guests. So, that's 15 total people that can enter under 1 account. Also unlike Chase Sapphire Reserved, adding AUs does not cost anything.
@@MaxMilesPointsOK, but since you’re trying to express how crowded it can get, why not mention that C1 Venture X cardholder can have up to 4 AUs and they have the same # of guests they can bring in?
