    My sister and some friends pretend to have panic attacks to avoid doing work which they have admitted to. In my opinion people like that take away from the people who are actually suffering with panic attacks and I feel like showing this video to them so they realise how affected people are and that it's not a joke

      If someone wants to lie about that I have no respect at all for them when there's genuine people suffering

      Thank you for trying to correct their point of view. Maybe they have yet to understand how some people are really suffering from this. Thank you for being patient with your sister and trying to make her a better person :)

    I have emetophobia; phobia of throwing up… so it’s a downward spiral. If I’m anxious, I’ll feel these symptoms & will worry if I’m going to get sick. If I feel sick, I start to panic & the panic makes me feel even worse. It’s so awful, so debilitating. I wouldn’t wish this phobia on my worst enemy! Thankfully I’ve been to therapy & have helpful tools to use when I am having a panic attack.

    Oh! Anxiety attack is the worst thing ever happened to me. Of course right after dealing with people. Apart from the things you said I also felt a massive pain in random parts of my body. Sometimes I didn't even know that kind of pain is possible. Since I'm away from people for about 6 weeks now I'm feeling much better now. I never had anxiety attack because of different environments or situation. The trigger is always people so I avoid them at all cost.

    Thanks for explaining the topic as it is petrifying to have a panic attack for the first time. I was terrified something happened with my heart, that arrhythmia finally caught me off guard. To learn it's a panic attack was... Surprising.

    Most of mine I don’t know when they will come. But the few that I do know why they’re happening or going to happen, I know the starting signs. Numbness in my face or hand with tingling( which usually makes me panic more) Dissociation. Heart beating fast. I starting crying, breathing fast, I feel out of my body, I scratch myself to feel like I am there. I think of every worse case scenario. I get hot. I can’t see straight. I need a cold wash cloth. I want to be alone but then I don’t because what if I die. It’s a never ending battle with my head in the moment. My body is reacting the way it thinks it should in the moment.

    • @marina-ji5wi
      @marina-ji5wi 2 года назад

      I have a great support system and they’ve found most helpful to me is to get me a cold wash cloth or anything cold so I can feel. Then they help me realize my five senses which help with the dissociation. What can I smell, what can I hear, what can I taste, what can I feel, what can I see. It might take a while some times more than other times.

    As close as I have gotten on numerous occasions, I have somehow been blessed all these years to be able to hold off a full-blown panic attack and calm it down before it debilitates me. I feel horrible for all of you who are unable to.

    My First Panic atack felt like I was really gonna die. I had terrible pain in my stomach at The time, I was constantly feeling nousious. Till this day I don't know if it was stress only releated or something was actually wrong with my stomach. Anyway thst day I went to work. I just felt terrible overall. Had a lot of stress at work and in my Personal life. I was totally drained emotionally and physically. Suddenly while being at meeting at work I've started to feel like I couldn't catch a breath. I've started to panic more and more. I had felt that I was dying. I've asked my boss If I could leave early, and went outside to take a breath. I've called for ambulance. I was so scared that I've started to breath more heavly. When Ambulance came I wasn't able to stand because both hands and legs were numb because I was overventilated. After that I've sat in ambulance, and paramedics helped me to calmed down. They have instructed me to go see psychiatrist. Thanks god we have paid sick leave in Poland. I couldn't eat, to the point when eating something was adding feeling of wanting to throw up. In next 10 weeks I've lost almost 20 kg of my weight. It was living hell, I was scared of my own shadow. Thanks god i was on right antidepresants and I've recovered. It's already 2 years after this incident, and I'm hoping I will never have to experience any panic atack in my Life.

    I have agoraphobia and every single time I have to ride the bus somewhere or be around a lot of people, I have a panic attack that just shuts my day down. It's gotten to the point where I very very rarely go outside anymore unless it's an emergency. I hate it.

    South Indian here trying to crawl my way out of feeling too numb I'm trying to hear some calm voices instead I guess I'm not paying attention to the video but the voice is calming enough
    I'm. Not sure what I suffer with and India as a whole sees these panic attack and mental illness as taboo things to even exist... So I'm just dead.. Mentally trying to heal myself

    I got one when I was dancing solo in front my of my dance class and their parents including my mom ha ha fun. I was literally in the middle of dancing and all over a sudden I got pins and needles in my whole body. I felt like I couldn't breathe and my heart was beating out of my chest. I was so scared and felt like everyone knew and was staring at me. What you said about feeling like the world isn't real, now that I think back to it I definitely felt like I was just in a whole over world compared to everyone else. It was horrible and traumatic, and I really was confused as to what it was afterwards. But yeah I told my mom about it a few months ago and she just made a joke out it. Thanks mom.

    I've experienced two types of Panic attacks, one is thinking/feeling like I'm having a heart attack ( usually when alone ) or that I'm about to pass out ( usually in public ), there's no way to know it's a panic attack, but once you learn to recognize it immediately or feel the build up of panic attack and you recognize it won't trigger and will probably never repeat again ( no meds are needed for this type only some research, if ur panic attacks are about heart attacks then learn how a true heart attack works and what the actual symptoms are, likely your brain won't be able to fake more than half of those and that's how you recognize if its real or not, but that's how I got rid of it, it still can be risky to simply ignore ).
    Second is the worst type, the "fight or flight" in social situations where is no socially appropriate escape, it's not scary or terrifying simply your brain detects the situation as a life threatening and will trigger huge adrenaline release which is insanely humiliating and will definitely develop phobias which later turns into Generalized Anxiety Disorder. For example you get this panic attack while standing in line at a mall, you will probably never go again to a mall w/o some sort of medication or sober after this experience or you will look for alternative, same with every place or situation until you will be afraid to leave home in general.
