I always release the overly large gills just because I realize how much of a treat it is being able to catch such gills. People will typically ask "why are you releasing the big ones and keeping small ones." It's all about having bigger gills for the future.

Al "believes everything that is in this book"? Does he believe that the earth is about 6000 years old, which is what the geneologies from Adam to today add up to. I'd believe THAT about as much as I'd believe someone who said they caught a 50 pound bluegill.
