I'm from across the pond as they say. We do have some pretty Majestic and beautiful places. But the sights and sounds that you bring to us are So much from fairy tales. It draws a longing from me and I think I belong there such picturesque and beautiful places. I cannot dream of.
My mother was in service at Hatherop Castle in late 1930's. My father was in the airforce at Fairford and that is where they met. She had many happy memories of Hatherop and the surrounding countryside.
Lovely little village with a beautiful church. Just what my soul needed today, Robin. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and I wish you, your wife, Widget & Gizmo a very happy 2025! 😊
I visited Hatherop last year and ended up walking from there to Coln St Aldwyns to Quenington and back to Hatherop. Nice little stroll to take a date or your family.
Another delightful video. In terms of creativity, inspiration and quality production, 2024 has been an outstanding year for Robin, Ross, Widget and Gizmo. Cordial gratitude to the Cotswold Explorer team and best wishes for 2025!!
Robn, Thank you for such a delighful tour of Hatherop village and countryside. it is heartwarming to see that country liiving is so very valued and preserved here., and that you heartliy approve.! it is indeed unfortunate that you can not take the position of River manager here., You have raised your voice against the outrageous practice of releasing raw sewage into the waters of the Cotswolds. I imagine that the River Manager of this stretch of the Colne would be in a position to exert political pressure on the powers that be. Where I live in rural America, we grumbled about building a sewage treatment plant in our neighborhood, to treat sewage pumped from our pole star city. for treatment and then piped underground to the coast to be released as clean water into Puget Sound. However, i take comfort knowing that it has all been done to treat sewage rather than releasing it into our waters. And the treatment plant? One would never know that the beautifully landscaped park with grass & trees and ponds for willd water birds and beds of reeds for red wing blackbirds, acres and acres visible from the road as we drive by every day, is the site of the plant itself. ❤
Can you recommend a book of walks and sites/history in the Cotswold’s? I am doing a six day hiking trip there in July. Can’t wait to see it first hand…and am a new subscriber to your channel in the meantime!
Hatherop village is astounding in it's look, your childhood memories with your elder sister would make you more in love with this place in Cotswold, awful video, overwhelming the senses

Boarding school, that never sounds good.
Never? Why's that? Lots of people generalise about schools. Some even use the phrase bog standard comp.
It's posible hear your videos in English. I dislike translation.
Brilliant..absolutely love this channel...Happy New year everyone all the best for 2025...watching in thailand
