Good morning Robin. It’s early Easter Monday now in Australia and I’m looking forward to watching this video. I hope you and your loved ones have had a happy and peaceful Easter.
I'll be watching from Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire, although at the mo I'm technically watching in old Bolingbroke Lincolnshire, been visiting the castle ruins where Henry IV was born.
Watching from Gloucester, I saw you filming outside Gloucester Cathedral last Monday lunchtime and came across to say hello. Another great informative video, thank you.
Hello Robin and Ross : I watch your wonderful videos from the Pacific Northwest of the US. I fell in love with the Cotswolds when I visited the area in 1985. It was,of course, pre-internet time so I planned the entire week of exploration with many maps and drove my then 15 year old daughter and myself about the area. It was a wonderful and at times harrowing experience driving on the left versus the right as in the US. The roundabouts were especially tricky as I went clockwise instead of counterclockwise and you can imagine the havoc and angst that caused my British drivers on the road. But we survived and truly enjoyed the beautiful area and friendly, accommodating people we encountered. Because it was such a departure from my usual comfort zone to attempt that trip, I will always consider it to be a turning point in my attitude concerning travel. I have missed the ability to travel during our Covid lost years and for that reason your videos have been so valuable to me and give me the chance to recall a wonderful experience in my life. Thank you! Lillian
So glad to hear we could bring the Cotswolds to you in some form 😊 Thank You for sharing your experience, scary on the roundabout front but at least the people made up for it!
Happy Easter from South Carolina ~ My Favorite Places is Oxfordshire. But Ipswitch and Otley and Suffolk England is my true home~ my family the Gosnold lived there and still do I suppose, My 7th Great Grandfather come over on a ship we have a copy of the ships log but I find myself looking for anything and everything about my family there. Some day I wish to visit in which time I would like to meet you and let you know how much I have enjoyed your travels in the Cotswold there. I watch these over and over again for it makes me feel like I know more about my true home. Thank you
The team - Robin and Ross - are also Oxfordshire born and bred - and we are so pleased to hear how much you enjoy watching the channel. Do give us a wave if you ever make it over and see us out filming!
@@TheCotswoldExplorer Thank you so much and I sure will. Hope to someday meet you all. I was told the old family home now was a small inn and I wish to see every inch of it when I get there. But until then I will follow your steps to let me see what I wish to know about the lay of the lands there.
Hello Cotswold Explorer from Sydney, Australia. Thank you for continuing our education so entertainingly on the dissolution of the monasteries and its impact. We very much liked the tiny village of Winson where we stayed for 10 days for our daughter's 2017 wedding outside Bibury. Discovered a pathway from the village centre to the most pictuesque pools imaginable in the River Coln. No time to investigate St Michael's Church (perhaps too much time at the excellent Village Pub in nearby Barnsley!) - maybe worth a future video?
I literally grew up in a small church and I feel much better in one, during my childhood I went to the literal tent revivals, VBS Vacation Bible School and just had a wonderful time listening to and watched my oldest sister get baptized and her friend. a small church is a nice choice.
Breathtakingly beautiful!! I would love to just stand in the church and soak in the atmosphere. Nothing built today quite equals the magnificent craftsmanship so evident in all these ancient buildings. Truly masters of their craft and astounding that such beauty could be achieved using what would be considered primitive tools and building methods. I find myself completely awed and astounded.
A lovely journey, beautifully narrated, amongst some really splendid ecclesiastical architecture. A pertinent reminder also, of what can so easily be lost, in the name of spiritual or temporal authority. Thank you.
An excellent tour - no worries for spreading outside the usual area as this supplies such wonderful material. A recently retired gent, watching from Ellicott City, Maryland, USA, with a fondness for Cheltenham, which may be just outside the usual area though in the spirit of this video I thought it safe to mention. Happy Easter to one and all, and a heartfelt thanks for mentioning the stalwart citizens of Ukraine.
Thank you Robin for another amazing journey. Here on the east coast of USA, avid fan for several years. Favorite episode, favorite place is Bourton on the Water, but every episode is my new favorite place. Sincere thanks for your devotion to the Cotswolds & sharing this amazing place with us. The world needs more caretakers like you.
Thank you for a truly poetically extraordinary episode. And from Colorado, USA - prayers to your viewers in Ukraine. You are daily remembered and five 🇺🇦 fly throughout our little neighborhood
Beautifully engaging, every aspect of this glorious video is top notch. I’m an Englishwoman currently living in Southern California and get my homesick fix from your journeys around the Cotswolds & beyond. Thank you Robin & Ross, I will sleep well tonight dreaming of the amazing architecture & history of our green& pleasant lands. Wishing you a lovely Easter Monday 💖🌟🙏
Happy Easter Robin and Widget from us here in Albany, Western Australia. Andrew, Grant and Brae the Westie and Maggie the cat. We love watching your videos. Having had the enormous privilege of visiting the Cotswolds in 2019, just prior to the pandemic, we would say our favourite place was Stow-on-the-Wold closely followed by Broadway where we stayed for 10 days. A truly memorable experience.

@@TheCotswoldExplorer Oh my, I forgot to tell you my favorite place in the Cotswolds…..it is difficult to pick just one, but I would say my favorite place would be The Slaughters. I should add the churches, the beautiful countryside, etc.!❤️

Enjoyed your journeys and gave me a small mental break from the students here at the school I teach at :) One of the schools I attended had a small medieval chapel and seeing these beautiful places of worship and peace made me feel like I was there again. Thanks :)

Widget looks very much like a Westie - but he is actually a cross between a Miniature Schnauzer and a Terrier! Either way, he says hello 🐕

As always a delight, Robin! Your director shares a common surname with a Catholic martyr of 1628, St. Edmund Arrowsmith, Priest.

The little gems makes one beautiful bouquet. I was wondering if there was any books about these small churches that are dotted along countryside.

The loss of such architectural marvels is a huge blow to history. All because of one man’s lust for power to put himself above all men.
Awesome! Thanks!
Amazing films ,I really enjoy your work .
Amazing!
Oddington is a remnant of a deserted village, hence its solitary position.
Happy Easter. 🐣 2024
I'm not saying a huge church is bad, It doesn't have the same feeling.
Happy Easter to you too. I am watching from Florida. Have you ever heard of a village called Rosewood that existed as late ad the 1820's?
We haven't, but something to certainly look up.
lets have more of this please ... awesome .Ennry8th worst king of all .. the monarchy should unit all men not serve the vanity of a single man
We have a Downton Abbey special coming up in Lacock, as well something special planned for the Queen's Jubilee 👑
you missed a chance to offer a little prayer for Ukraine. Don't be shy of your Christianity.
TD for contemporary politics, which have no place in an otherwise interesting video.
