My wife and I took our honeymoon on a bicycling tour through the Cotswolds 1978. We stayed in Stow in the Wold
And cursed the hill on our return each afternoon. Many places you visited were on our routes. Thank you.

@@saud_ss44 Quite how criticising the Arab nation for eating as much of Britain as their wealth will allow is deemed racist I really don't know. If someone says Tesco is eating Britain are they Supermarketist? Ludicrous remarks

This is how documentaries should still be made on TV - excellent research - perfectly spoken diction - well written script in a quality of English now fast disappearing. I loved every part of this film. So relaxing and film shooting style gives a really good sense of "place" and presence. Thank you for producing it all so well with so much historical info we'd never have known.

Watching & listening to you talk us through these charming villages and Towns, compares to sitting before a blazing log fire in a quite comfortablly snug Cotswald country pub, with either a fine glass of red wine or a tankard of good ale in hand. It was So Relaxing that I forgot that I should have been getting on with work !

Chipping Campden. I have an uncle who is still living independently there at 92 along with many assorted relatives. One of his sons is an avid Morris dancer and his grandson an accomplished folk musician. I remember holidaying there from my childhood. Now I live in upstate NY - not far from Woodstock. This is a lovely series; so interesting and so gratifying to watch. I just discovered it. Thank you.

What a coincidence, I just found an ancestor that lived in Chipping Campden, Richard Hartwell born 1600, died in 1670, a ripe age for that period! I hope to visit England some day and the Cotswolds will be on my list of places to visit! Lovely!

Nicely filmed in a gentle non-fussy style with excellent laid-back commentary which makes locations like Winchcombe & Hailes Abbey very interesting, especially as I live only 10 miles away in South Cheltenham. So carry on with your good work promoting the beautiful Cotswolds.

I live in Michigan in the states, and it's amazing how many building and streets are named after those towns in England, and the architecture is very similar in older Detroit constructions and older cities and towns radiating out from it. I live on a little street called "Cheltenham." I had a friend in grade school who lived in a tudor mansion in Grosse Pointe Farms that supposedly used the blueprint of a manor in England. It was remarkable, very authentic inside. Love our familiar connections.

Very Relaxing - I wonder if you couldn't visit a few more locals & providores, adds a lot of depth - perhaps you could get the keys, sometimes (!) looking at the local produce & meeting the artisans can be great fun & makes it very enticing to the visitor or to those who can never visit. I believe, if memory serves, Morton in Marsh had the best maker of chocolate éclairs in all England (back in the midst of the last fuel crisis...) wonder if the village is so blessed in the midst of this debacle? Safe travels, do appreciate it.

Hi. I live in Mickleton, the northernmost village in the Cotswolds (3 miles from Campden - although CC is our postal town). Thsnks for your videos - always something to learn about the area. Is it worth you doing a piece on the last "battle"on English soil that took place between 2 private armies in July 1851?
