Painswick 8-34 - A beautiful village with a lot of history, there is still damage to the church tower from 16 ct civil war cannon. behind the church is the old court house, King Charles 1st stayed there on his way back to London after the relief oof the siege of Gloucester. Opposite the church is a very small 15 ct Tudor beamed shop, this is said to be the very first post office in the UK during the reign of King Henry 8th .
Wow thanks for all the additional history and insight. I've pinned this comment so other viewers can read it too. We kinda did feel like we'd only scratched the surface. Thank you for watching and sharing your knowledge

Wow, we’re sold, Castle Combe looks amazing! The video you showed reminded us so much of Dunster in Somerset which we had a chance to visit the summer before Covid. That is going on our list of future places to visit.
Ah fantastic, we're so happy to introduce a new place to you! Castle Combe is gorgeous! And if you're able to get up super early it would be amazing! Thanks so much for watching 😀
I remember visiting Bourton back in the 80s. There weren't nearly so many "Gift Shops" as there are now. It's gotten a little bit spoiled unfortunately. 😟
Yea we can totally imagine that, it sure is pretty touristy now. Thanks for watching 😀
Beautiful
Such a gorgeous area! Thanks for watching
সুন্দর!
🙏
GREAT
Thanks so much
Unfortunately the cafe and museum in Lower Slaughter closed down in early 2023.
Oh that's such a shame, thanks for letting us know. Its still a lovely place to visit though. Thanks for watching
We’re headed to the Cotswolds in September and will hopefully have a full week, so your 4 days should be very manageable. We welcome you to take a look at our channel as well.
Oh fantastic, we hope you have a great time!! We'll look up your channel now 🙂
@@MacSarah We really love your video production and combination of narration and "on the spot" commentary.
Snowshill and broadway towers
Oh brilliant thanks, will add to our list! Thanks for watching!! 😀
They all look amazing. Looks like a great idea for a UK trip. How reachable are they by public transport?
Thats a good question, some are more accessible than others I'd say, smaller villages like Castle Combe and Lower Slaughter are perhaps not as easy to access in public transport. However I think there are quite a few companies who would do guided tours, maybe by coach or minibus. It's definitely worth looking into, you guys would love The Cotswolds. Thanks for watching!
Planning a trip to Scotland and England. Inverness to London several stops in between. Cotswolds obviously being one of them. Is late May early June a decent time for a 2 week visit? I realize that a loaded question seeing that it covers a lot of ground! haha.. any advice would be welcome!
Hey, thanks so much for watching. I'd say that's a great time to visit, before the height of summer and the very busy times. Sounds like you have a great trip planned, enjoy!!
Namaste 🙏🌹❤️👍
What are your thoughts on travelling from Oxford to Bibury by bus? I mean what are the frequencies? Is it only mornings and evenings or we can get buses plying all through the day at regular small intervals?
Hey there!! We're not quite sure about the bus times but I imagine it's well served... We hope you can find out more online. Thanks for watching
How far are these locations from each other? A walking distance or will require bus travel or car?
Hi, mostly they will need bus or car. However there is a walking route from Bourton on the Water to Lower Slaughter. 👍
On which month this tour were done? Date and month? Tq
Hi, we visited in June. It was a lovely time of year
Is the very loud background music really necessary, nice video otherwise
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it
Stop!!!! attracting more visitors to these places, the are over-crowded.
I agree that they're popular but it does depend on time of year. When we visited it wasn't over crowded and I think that the local economies and job rely on tourism, so we mustn't try to deter people. However, I would say that ways of sustainably managing visitors would be good
super
