DISCUSSION SUMMARY The Syrian Revolution and its Aftermath The Arab Spring led to various outcomes in different countries, including Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Bahrain, and Syria, with Syria being the most complex and unique due to its geography and foreign involvement 05:53. Syria's revolution had a strong Islamic undercurrent, with the Sunni majority feeling wronged under Bashar's 54-year rule, and foreign fighters and mercenaries from both sides were involved 07:08. The complexity of Syria's situation is attributed to its geography, being a key state surrounded by Israel, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, and Turkey, attracting various players and creating a bewildering interplay of actors 07:43. The conversation about Syria requires sensitivity and nuance, acknowledging the undesirable regime of Bashar and his father, and recognizing the need for a rational conversation to find common ground 09:44. Shifting Perspectives on the Syrian Conflict The Alawites were traditionally regarded as non-Muslims by Shia Muslims, but this rhetoric changed due to the political alliance between Iran and Syria since the 1980s 10:28. The Syrian uprising was initially seen as a popular uprising similar to those in Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya, but it became complex due to various factors 11:09. One person's initial position was against overthrowing Bashar al-Assad, fearing it would lead to a civil war and harm Palestinians, while the other person supported the removal of Assad, viewing him as an evil and tyrannical regime 13:02. The person who initially opposed overthrowing Assad changed their position due to the regime's unsustainable nature, its killing of civilians, and the use of Israeli-type tactics 16:16. The same person's spiritual journey and increased knowledge of Sunni and Shia history also contributed to their changed position, making them a more convinced Sunni Muslim 16:47. The person still has doubts about the Syrian revolution, suspecting a hidden hand behind it and questioning the sudden collapse of Assad's regime, as well as the involvement of Al-Qaeda link groups 18:41. Geopolitics and the Syrian Revolution The Iranian government should have made a deal with the Syrian rebels in 2017 when they had the upper hand, but instead, they were too arrogant and now they've lost everything 20:36. The Syrian revolution was seen as blessed due to its undeniable Islamic identity and the people's desire for an Islamic future 21:13. The rebels were backed by countries that didn't have the best interest of the rebels or Syria at heart, and now Arab diplomats and leaders are queuing up to meet with Ahmed Shar 23:45. The HTS leadership's statements about Israel are concerning, and there's a risk of normalization with Israel if they're not checked by the umah 25:25. The axis of resistance has been severely weakened, with key figureheads taken out and Iranian targets hit in Iran 27:14. Media Coverage and Interviews The claim that MI5 set up an interview with Ahmed Al Shar is outrageous and slanderous, and the process of getting the interview was the same as for other news outlets 28:52. Journalists and other individuals gathered in Damascus, specifically at the Sheraton or Four Seasons hotels, to cover events in Syria, and having a fixer or local contact can facilitate meetings with officials and other key figures 29:41. The speaker believes that Five Pillars was invited to cover events in Syria because of its grassroots work and ability to reach a Western Muslim audience that other outlets cannot 31:21. Defending Past Actions and Criticizing Current Policies The speaker defends their past support for certain groups in Syria, including Jabhat al-Nusra, and believes that these groups have evolved over time and may still play a role in the country's future 34:20. The speaker is critical of those who expect the transitional government in Syria to immediately prioritize fighting Israel, given the country's internal security issues and the need for rebuilding 36:50. The speaker does not expect the transitional government to go to war with Israel, but does expect them not to send friendly signals towards Israel, which they believe has been happening 38:19. Signals from certain politicians suggest they do not want to fight the West or Israel and are not showing solidarity with Palestinians 38:33. The Syrian government's response to Israel's actions was initially slow, and their priority was national unity over going to war with Israel 39:01. Some believe that the Syrian government's approach to Israel is strategically wise for now, but others think this is just a temporary stance to appease the West 39:28. International Relations and the Syrian Conflict The West's acceptance of certain groups in Syria, such as HTS, may be due to a lack of choice or a desire to deal with the current power holders 41:32. The West's interests in Syria are primarily geopolitical, economic, and ideological, and they may engage with certain groups if these interests are met 41:57. There may have been a deal between Russia, Bashar al-Assad, and possibly the US, involving Syria and Ukraine, although the details are unclear 42:45. The West may try to normalize relations between Syria and Israel in the future, possibly through a deal involving the lifting of sanctions 45:15. Some groups, like Five Pillars, have a consistent position against normalization with Israel and will continue to oppose it 45:41. The goal is to see a Syria that is strong, stable, prosperous, anti-Israel, and Islamic, and to rebuild the country after years of war and displacement 46:55. The current Syrian state cannot exist as an apartheid state in the Middle East, and the focus should be on opposing Israel's legitimacy 47:41. Personal Reflections and Criticisms The speaker clarifies their position on Syria, stating that they support an Islamic Syria and the revolution, but do not support any specific faction, including HTS 48:49. The speaker criticizes Dan Cohen, a pro-Palestinian activist, for his tactics and accusations, including claiming that the speaker is an MI5 asset 49:50. The speaker also criticizes Tim Anderson, a far-left activist, for his support of Bashar Assad and his accusations against the speaker 52:18. The speaker argues that some non-Muslim leftists, including Dan Cohen and Tim Anderson, have been dishonest and lazy in their discourse on Syria and Palestine 53:21. The speaker addresses Shia Muslims, stating that they should be critical of those who support Bashar Assad and oppose the Syrian people, and that they should be respectful and factual in their criticism 53:38. Criticisms are made against individuals such as David Miller, Craig Murray, Dan Cohen, and Tim Anderson for their views on Syria and their approach to Muslims, with accusations of Islamophobia and a "white savior" complex 55:57. Craig Murray is specifically criticized for his past as a foreign office insider and his attempts to report Five Pillars to the police for supporting the Syrian Revolution 59:12. The individuals in question are accused of using tactics similar to those of Zionists, such as taking clips out of context and spreading rumors, in order to discredit Muslim organizations and individuals 01:03:04. The speaker emphasizes the importance of credentials and a track record within the Muslim community, questioning the right of outsiders to criticize and make assertions about Muslim organizations 01:02:58. The speaker also addresses San Ahmed, who has made accusations against Five Pillars, and advises him to fear Allah and be sincere in his intentions 01:03:30.
Disagreements and Accusations within the Left The discussion revolves around the Syrian conflict and the speaker's past associations with Press TV, an Iranian-funded channel, and their shift in views over time 01:04:48. The speaker denies being a Salafi or a member of Hizb ut-Tahrir (HT), stating that these accusations are lazy and misinformed, and that many Muslims hold similar views on democracy, voting, and the caliphate 01:05:51. The speaker expresses concern about the tactics used by the Anti-Imperialist left and the Axis of Resistance, including accusations of being on the payroll of intelligence agencies, which they find offensive and slanderous 01:10:15. The speaker notes that some individuals from the Anti-Imperialist left and the Axis of Resistance are staying silent about these accusations, despite knowing the speaker and their publication, Five Pillars, personally 01:10:35. The speaker questions whether Five Pillars should trust these individuals and allow them airtime in the future, considering their betrayal and cowardice in not speaking out against the false accusations 01:11:57. The speaker reflects on their past involvement with the pro-resistance camp and how their Sunni friends stood by them despite disagreeing with their views, whereas their Shia friends did not reciprocate the same loyalty when they deviated from the resistance axis position 01:13:19. The speaker criticizes the anti-imperialist left, particularly white leftist men over 60, for telling Muslims how to perceive Syria and other issues, and notes that they have never provided financial support to their cause 01:15:49. The speaker appreciates Iran's independent posture in the Middle East and their support for Palestine, but also believes that Iran is a pragmatic state that will make deals and compromises to strengthen its cause, and that its leadership may be compromised and infiltrated 01:16:46. The speaker thinks that the pro-resistance camp has a cult-like mentality, with leaders who are followed as if infallible, and that anyone who disagrees with them is targeted and lied about 01:19:16. The speaker feels personally betrayed by former friends who they thought shared their values, but who turned out to be conditional friends based on political positions 01:20:10. The speaker criticizes individuals such as David Miller, Craig Murray, and Scott Ritter for their problematic language and behavior towards Muslims, particularly those who support the Syrian revolution 01:21:06. The decision to engage or collaborate with certain individuals or groups, particularly those who have spread rumors or lies about Five Pillars, is up to the audience to make 01:22:55. The issue of Syria has brought up a fitnah online, with many lies, fabrications, and slander being spread, which has been shocking and insulting 01:26:30. The accusations and rumors, including being called an MI5 or CIA agent, are not taken lightly and will not be forgotten 01:27:09. The Anti-Imperialist left and the Axis of Resistance Shia are alienating Sunni Muslims with their actions and accusations 01:27:31. Five Pillars will continue to cover news relevant to the Muslim community, but will not engage in Twitter wars or respond to anonymous accounts 01:28:59. The organization will focus on its platform and terms, and will not be swayed by external opinions or agendas 01:29:01
Assalamu’alaikum Roshan and Dilly. Thank you for an excellent discussion. When I saw the liberation of Syrian (especially the images of Sednaya), my first reaction was Alhamdulillah as the Syrian has been under a brutal regime for 50 yrs. However, my concern was the impact on the Palestine and on the axis of resistance, but I I have faith on Allah’s plan ‘they plan and plot, but Allah is the best of planner’. May He unite the hearts of the Ummah that will be good for the Ummah….ameen.
@@rodzitazainal19 doesnt matter. The liberation of Palestinians is not more important than the liberation of Syrians. Syrians shouldnt have to coexist with their tyrant just so the Palestinians can have more help against their tyrant. If palestine's liberation meant that bashar al assad gets stronger, would anyone have come to cry about syria? No. And i say this as a Palestinian. Palestinia s dont share that distasteful sentiment.
lol u guys say hizb didnt fight well while they fought israel fiercely on the ground for a year lebanon was against the fight but they did the fight yet u say tahrir sham and jewlani must focus on syria no matter wht how israelies are advancing in syria :)) u lost crdibility
really? you think celebrating the liberation of Syria after 55 years of Alawaits bloody ruling and the killing of millions of Syrians is not worth of celebrating??
I totally appreciate brother Roshan's slight reservation and nuanced approach on Syria as opposed to brother Dilly's somewhat over-simplistic perspective on Syria. The reason being because how many times just in the last 100 years have we seen these Rebel leaders, turned Liberators turned Dictators turned western stooges! Only time will tell on Syria metamorphism and so its advisable to err on the side of caution to say the least.
As a Syrian, Roshan got it totally wrong. Rebels were not backed by US and NATO. They lost almost all ground since 2016 and retreated to Idlib, some sources say USA was preparing to normalize with Assad again. Turkey was openly willing to negotiate with Assad to hand Idlib and other territories. If USA and NATO truly wanted the Rebels to win, they could have made it possible since 2014 but they didn't want Assads ruling to fall.
By your logic we should except a brutal dictator that was responsible for the deaths of hundred of thousands of people, because he maybe replaced by Western stooges? Easy for you to say because you've not suffered like the Syrian people.
This episode I agree with Roshan. I love my brothers and sisters in Syria and I want them to have peace and happiness. Assad was extremely bad I agree look at the state of Syria, lot of was bcoz of USA uk Israel and western countries involvement sanctions etc. but am so worried these rebels who have taken over aren’t saying right thighs. They said they don’t want to fight Israel no issues with Israel , Israel only bombs a litlle and so on. This making me unhappy. Israel have taken more land than ever before. Even after licking Israel USA boots Israel is bombing Syria destroying infrastructure. USA stealing oil and now Israel stealing water from Syria. Please brothers and sisters keep making dua for Syria, Palestine, Yemen , Lebanon Iraq . Our brothers and sisters who are in need.
@yahkhan7730 Asad was bad because of the US and Western countries' sanctions? Are you serious? Do you know anything about what happened to the Syrian people for the past 54 years of Asad regime? Do you know that only Sunni Muslims were displaced? Do you know that only Sunni Muslims towns were bombed? Do you know that only Sunni Muslims were targeted with toxic gas, complete siege where people died of hunger? Hundred of thousands imprisoned and tortured the majority of whom were Sunni.
@@Mym794 read my mess properly. Am saying Assad was extremely bad i agree. Who ruined Syria who destroyed Syria who sanctioned Syria USA right ? USA occupies Syria oil. Stop arguing for no reason please
@@yahkhan7730you are the one who doesnt understand the point. "Who ruined Syria...USA right". No. USA was only one piece. Who has been b0mbing Syria almost continually since the w@r "officially" ended? Hint: it wasnt USA
I think the majority us as Muslim sunnis agree with the perspective of the brother Roshan about the questions he had about the new authorities of Syria.
As an Arab I can say that only Shia in the region has a positive view of Iran. The majority of people in the region see Iran as a threat to Arab people, the same as the zio. This is not to say that the Arab rulers are less dangerous to our future.
As salaamu alaykum brothers, sisters, friends and foes. Please like, share and comment on this video, as well as subscribing to the 5Pillars RUclips channel! Jazakallah khayran.
Much respect for Roshan for his positive change in stance. I remember the days he took a pro Shia stance and I was debating him and his Shia friends on FB. He unfriended me after a while. This was over a decade ago. But, people do change and as you start understanding your religion, you’ll naturally understand who your loyalty should be with.
Really sorry to hear you guys are being slandered . I’m not on Facebook and twitter , so don’t know what’s going on there , but even instagram has become a dark place in the last 4 wks where the pro Palestine movement completely fractured over Syria ‘s liberation. May Allah swt reward you for your efforts and guide the rest of the ummah to be able to see the truth in these Dajjalic times . Ameen
I was very sorry to hear about the nasty fabrications and lies made against you. May Allah swt protect you all, and shower you and your work with barakah.
Salahuddin Al-Ayyubi رحمه الله was asked: Why do you fight the Shiites in Egypt and leave the Crusaders in Jerusalem? He answered: "I will not fight the Crusaders while my back is exposed to the Shias."
@aar8808 He was a clever and wise leader who understood the reality very well. That is why he succeeded and defeated the Crusaders. Hopefully, the new Syrian leader will understand the lesson and protect Syria back.
And he conquered Syria after taking Egypt from the shiites then he took al-quds from the crusaders, if he live know most stupid Muslims will call him traitor fighting bashar the hero😂
Didn't know much about the Twelvers "Shia" until I started looking into them properly around 2018 when my young brother in-law pointed out their crimes in Iraq and their filthy cursing of the Sahabas. I went back into history especially the Safavids Twelvers forced conversion period which took me down a rabbit hole of all things "Shia" which made me realise why there is so much animosity even then I believe cohesion in Muslim lands is possible if the Twelvers control their mouth and not provoke Muslims.
That's funny BC Ayatollah Khamenei has issued countless fatwas to the Shia to refrain from cursing personalities that other sects revere. It's not mainstream Shia Islam to slander and curse the Sahaba. Don't stereotype a whole group on the actions of a few. There is good and bad in every sect!
I don't respect people who use dajjalic talking points guy. I have done extensive research on Twelvers especially your ayatollah for several years so I don't fall for your deceptions. When I look at Islamic history I wonder why the previous generations allowed this Twelver thing to grow to the extent they were able to force convert & ethnic cleanse Muslims.
Jewlani new government has 80% None-Syrians now in leading positions Let Syrians decided and benefit from the fall of Assad but Jewlani rewarding his Al-Q clan and putting them in leading positions! Democracy for you!
Amongst all the Lunatics in the History of Humanity, none are as disconnected and as depraved as those who justify the Iranian Genocide in the name of “Resistance”. Those are “Sharru al Bariyah” (The most evil creatures).
Democracy is kufr and that is a lie 80% foreigners?? Previous regime was minority non muslims nusayris. Alhamdulilah majority Muslims are ruling again like how it's supposed to be
Roshan bang on about HTS sending friendly signals towards a genocidal state! Dilly making excuses for HTS same excuses could be used for the older regime! The Syria Nightmare Is Just Beginning
Based on which military power will they fight the zioNazi regime? Even without saying anything, the fascist entity attacked the military installations in Syria. Now imagine if they even spoke about open enmity posing as a threat! They would invade Damascus right away and nobody would come to the rescue like in the Palestine situation. You children go play with your toys.
This dilly guy will be happy wen irn axis stops resisting and let’s Gaza fall that’s wen he ses Syria isn’t ready yet give them time wen Gaza doesnt have time
@ lemme guess u don’t like Iran becouse of Iraq n Syria but all Sunni nations was willing to let those nations fall into ameca hands except Iran as a Sunni Muslim from the uk I respect Iran more then any Sunni country
@ didn’t ameca kill more in irq then irn did in total lol but u sheep’s wount say a word about that why does ameca have bases in every Sunni country then and they hate Iran n u wounder why u hate Iran wen ameca the one using ur countries n killing u

Very interesting & open discussion. For me, I don’t believe 5 Pillars have ‘sold out’. That’s just childish. I am however sceptical about what has happened in Syria though I’m no fan of Assad. I do feel that what’s happened in Syria is not in the long term interests of the Ummah or Palestine & fear Libya 2.0. My position is more towards Roshan’s than Dilly’s. I do think that for Moslems to be successful, and for Al Aqsa to be free we do have to unite politically (Sunni & Shia) and reduce our sectarianism on both sides and still align with many of the ‘white leftists’ you have described.
I disagree with u the most important and critical thing is to put Allah first, to fear Allah in our fight and to seek his help first and foremost against the Israelis this is what will bring victory inshallah to the ummah this is what history actually teaches us over and over again
The ones doing this the most are the palestinians and no one else could even come close even other sunni muslims who actually fought the Zionists on the ground like the egyptians and other sunnis around Palestine the conflict didn't start on 7th of october this is only a chapter in this war against islam and muslims not just palestinians we have to look at the bigger picture
Iran, Assad and Hezbollah massacred over 600,000 Syrians for the sake of protecting a brutal dictator. Talk about "unity" with the victims of Sednaya and I'm sure they will have interesting things to say.
@ As I have said before, I’m no fan of Assad, but what you claim is really just not accurate, just be honest for a moment. Also there are many ‘brutal dictators’ in the ME. Sisi and MBS come to mind. 600, 000 may well have been killed and millions more displaced in a civil war that was NOT started by Iran, or Russia or Hezbollah. What started as a genuine peaceful uprising for reform, democracy and change was quickly hijacked by ISIS extremists and other groups funded by the likes of Saudi, Qatar, UAE, Turkey, NATO, British intelligence, CIA and the USA. All these states had their own agenda for doing this. At its peak, there were over 1000 different armed factions and militia groups many of whom were provided weapons by numerous countries and shipped by them from the chaos in Libya. Many of these extremists included foreign fighters (non Syrians) & committed terrible atrocities to minority communities and also to many secular Syrians, Kurds. These extremist groups also fought and killed each other. This was BEFORE the Syrian government invited the Russians, The Iranians and Hezbollah into Syria for support and when they intervened. Your comments of the ‘massacre’ suggests this was one sided which is NOT true. If anyone did massacres it was the Russian Airforce and Syrian airforce to attempt to push back these foreign funded and armed ISIS and AQ militias. I’ve been to Syria in times of peace and in times of the civil war. I do worry that it will become Libya 2.0- this is what the West and the Zionists have always wanted in Shaam. The country had so much potential, oil, gas, resources infrastructure. A decade of civil war, sanctions, regular bombings by the USA and Israel and destruction and theft and its balkanisation by vested parties caused the chaos that was also added to in the end by Russia, Iran and Hezbollah.
Palestine needs the ummah not Iran . Palestine needs loyal Muslim leaders who work for liberation of Palestine not a country that allies with Hamas for mutual interests.@@Aliameem
The Syrian rebels never made it clear are they fighting for Islam or democracy? If it’s for Islam isn’t it Haram to take Christian’s and Jews as allies against other Muslims If it was for a secular democracy then Assad was an already secular and under pressure held democratic elections? If it was because he didn’t take actions against Israel because he felt the country was too weak then why is it ok for Golani not to take actions against Israel because he feels the country is too weak If Assad needed to be overthrown because he wasn’t following the Shariah then how was it lawful to take funds from Qatar UAE KSA which don’t follow the Shariah? So many questions.
So many questions and so many double standards. Roshan is rightly skeptical but Dilly is doubling down on this childish oversimplified whitewashing of obvious terrorists and some hope they'll benefit the Syrians and Palestinians. We know the opposite will happen. Normalisation with Israel is around the corner as they're carrying out a genocide yet Iran and the shia are the boogeymen. It's mind-blowing. The real enemies of Israel and the US get the H*mas and HzB treatment. Not the Jewlani PR reformed terrorists turned diplomat getting prime time CNN interviews..
Where is this coming from?? Assad was responsible for 600,000 Syrians dying, up to 300,000 innocent civilians imprisoned, thousands tortured and a country in rubble & you are talking about Assad & democracy/ sharia?? As for HTS and Islam, do you know your history?? Islam, gives both Jews & Christians the right to live in safety & practice their religion..When Jews were persecuted by the Christian's it was the Muslim countries that took them in.. And you need to do a bit of research about the Shia & the Alawhites..They are no friends of the Sunni's..They hate the Sahaba in particular the wife Aisha of Prophet Muhummad, Abu Bakr & Omar, etc, etc..They informed the West that Saddam had WMD the lie that killed a million Iraqi's..Now they are in control of Iraq care of their so called enemy America!!
Insha Allah Syria will support the retake of Palestine as soon it is able to do so. But please give good advice and lots of duas and support for Syria. Good video. May Allah reward you. Ameen
Non muslims takfiring muslims 😂😂 craaazy times we living in....keep up the good work 5 pillars team. May Allah سبحانه وتعالى continue to take beneficial work from you
Dilly and the comment section show how little most Muslims understand about Geopolitics and Imperialism. The fact that so few people know how effectively the Americans have trained Sunni groups like HTS to work for its interests is shocking. Instead, everyone blames Shias and Hezbollah while those were the only ones fighting back against American and Israeli imperialism. Wake up.
We woke up and saw that Shia and Iran weren't any better than the zios. To assume that people just don't understand who was destroying their lives for the last 54 years is pure arrogance. While you preach about geopolitical and imperialism from your comfortable couch, we are living it, and we are capable of identifying our enemies.
I can't believe you don't really care that hezbollah and Iran literally slayed Muslims in Iraq Syria and Lebanon because they have this fake fight with israel, keep moaning while the men sort this mess out. Everything takes time don't be fooled by these Iranian propaganda they've literally done nothing to there no1 enemy but instead had a hand in killing every leader they've supposedly supported. America will support anyone for its own interest but they always leave them out to dry just as they did in Syria when the tide turned. They will do the same in north East of Syria too you need to wake up and understand nothing gets done in a day being emotional isn't good for no one.
@@Mym794 it's just that the whole thing looks so suspicious because of the timing and Syrians been telling us for 13 years the opposition isn't extremists, then the guys who end up taking Damascus are takfeeris who say they have no problem with ISRL.
I have serious issues with Dilly”s biased against the Shia . The best answer is given by Sami hamdi on the topic where he says that if Nasrallah wanted he could have taken a position of uae and saudia and he would be alive today.. I think Dilly”s hatred for Shia is more than his hatred towards Zionist. He can let Zionist win if it means Sunnis winning against Shias .
Weird conversation tbh. Still non the wiser. Agree that the old left are usually out of touch and pandering but whether they’re right or not remains to be seen. The overlap between right, left, Sunni, Shia is interesting.
As a Syrian, Dilly is far more rational than Roshan. Just give them time, the country is destroyed from a bloody 15 years war! What do you expect from them? Go and fight Israel? Yeah it's very easily said..
@@IK47-d2l not many are saying fight Israel. The least HTS can do is condemn Israel for bombing them 500 times in the last 3 weeks and taking Syrian land. Yet the HTS are unwilling. Fuck that ‘give them time’ bullshit.
10:16 you can't have any tyrant running a country regardless of their religion. Saddam waa a Sunni Muslim and he committed the same crimes as Assad and was from the same Baath party as assad. So I disagree that this is about religion, its about Tyranny. 10:33 I disagree. Even before the Iranian syrian alliance, shia Muslims regarded Alawis as Muslims due to the fatwa of the Shia scholar knwon as Musa Al Sadr (who was anti-iran). 14:29 I disagree. Gaddafi was a tyrant just like Mubarak, perhaps even worse. He tried to assasinate people while they were on Hajj and he believed that his green book was better than the Quran. 20:34 This is very unrealistic since Iran is very secterian and backward.
JazaakumAllaahu Khayr 5pillars. As always I’m enjoying your content and this was a much needed discussion to be had. I don’t know if I missed it, but I would’ve appreciated it if you covered Galloway (I’m assuming he falls under the oaps category) you mentioned.
why there are conflicts between syrian militants and lebanones military while Israel incursion of syrans land is on going .why syrian militants are ignoring Israeli occupation at the same time
Roshan what you said about the Rebels and Al Qaeda. You can’t trust them and Jolani well he’s a cheap Zelensky with a beard!! But he won’t get any money like Zelensky!! And Dilly you need to change your tune and take a note from Roshan!!
O you who believe! If a rebellious evil person comes to you with a news, verify it, lest you harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful to what you have done. (Al-Hujuraat Verse 6)
My advice to brother Roshan is to read the works of the people he has befriended. Read their Hadiths, fiqh, etc. You will see why they leave you hanging. I had to learn the hard way when I was put into the same position unfortunately.
For all the contributions you both and 5Pillars have done to bring light on Afghanistan, Bangladesh and now Syria-it’s really sad that you have to take time to defend yourselves from complete nonsense. You can say that’s when you know you’re actually doing something right when you have haters spewing lies and slander. May Allah make you more successful, Ameen.
Why support the removal of one ruler and not another? Why have king Abdullah overthrown and not MBS. What it shows that brother Roshan, sadly doesn't have a solid premise other than what he sees as benefit and harm. Clearly this will lead to an inconsistent position on such matters. So, whether a ruler is a crony of the West or the East, why does it make any difference. Are any of the Muslim rulers without an allegiance and loyalty to a foreign power?
I had all the reservations that brother Roshan has , and still do to some extent , regarding HTS, but goes without saying that Assad needed to go . Now we have to wait and see what HTS does , and I agree although they can’t fight 🇺🇸 at this time, any normalization with the death cult will mean this was West orchestrated . May Allah guide the true mujahideens amongst them , Al Jolani is one man , he isn’t all of Syria and is very replaceable if he wants to worship 🇮🇱
Some very interesting conversations had in this podcast, I guess the landscape of journalism has many landmines along the way. It seems that Allah swt in his wisdom has begun to expose some of those who may have been thought of as allies. May Allah swt continue to strengthen your work and keep you both steadfast throughout this trail.
I find dilly's position on Syria too simplistic. I agree with Roshan. I wish if Dilly allowed Roshan to speak his mind fully and not keep cutting him in the middle.
While I am with you in regard to false friends, as an oldie myself married to an oldie, I think the over 60 generation still have a lot to contribute in terms of experience and insight. I would like to hear more voices from the older generation of our own in your interviews because our religion is based on respect for the elders and mercy on the young.

Maashaa Allah. Excellent analysis and honest conversation on current events in Syria. I find your channel very informative and well balanced. Lots of love and support from South Africa.
Roshan, the Houthis and Hezb have something Syria will never have: a *natural* but completely *free defence* with *free upkeep* against infantry, armor _and_ air power in the form of terrain that's mountainous and therefore impassable in places and a bottleneck therefore extremely vulnerable in other places. Harsh terrain is among the absolute biggest considerations when a state is considering invading another. But it doesn't stop there; those mountains are also vastly forested or shrubby, therefore not only able to conceal people, equipment and cave systems from aerial surveillance and airstrikes, but the last of which from where a decades-long guerrilla warfare can be fought from. The terrain is completely inhospitable to those that don't live in it and know how to traverse it's very intricate and often dangerous ways through/around it. But in addition, Hezb has yet _another_ card up its sleeve: a more hi-tech and vast tunnel network than the relatively primitive one in Gaza that itself is impenetrable to this day. Syria on the other hand, is almost entirely flatlands and can be completely steamrolled by an army with state backing, let alone a _state_ army with _unlimited US_ backing, not to mention that of a bordering state which therefore now has zero impediments, unlike Yemen or Iran. An invasion would take a matter of months if not _weeks_ with the full-force of a state's entire military apparatus: infantry, armor _and_ air power, all three of which have comparatively little-to-no mobility or even visibility of enemies in Lebanese and Yemeni terrain. Lastly, the people resisting in Gaza have better and more entrenched defences than even Syria, and that's why they're currently continuing ongoing ceasefire talks with, word is, an upper hand over Israel if not the same one they had in October last year. If you think Syria stands any chance, just consider the Russian airstrikes that kept them confined to one town in one corner of Syria and even that under the direct protection of Turkey. Btw, you can freely see the terrain difference by enabling terrain view within Google Maps and then comparing Lebanon to Yemen to Syria; I promise you will laugh when you see how Syria unfortunately is _begging_ to be invaded.
Brother Dilly, can i ask why you constantly avoid mentioning the situation in Sudan. You dont even mention them when mentioning the countries that went for regime change initially.
Leave it now and join shi'i, weak heart. 😂 Keep reading this kitabul fitn by Nuam bin Hammad, most of the Hadith used in that book, sanads are weak. No wonder why you're leaning towards misguidance.
What about the long game perspective for Syria? Normalize relations with the West/Zios so that you can rebuild economy and infrastructure and foreign direct investment. Maybe over next 2 to 8 years. Then eventually becoming a regional powerhouse again, which can only be achieved through establishing relations with the imperialists??
I've mostly disagreed with Dilly's politics and his work. I call him and his organisation the Muslim Daily mail. But saying that I like how he's matured over the years. I see that he's actually a sincere brother and anyone that says he's on the payroll is a liar.
34:00 Max Blumenthal did the same thing to Bilal Abulaleem. I lost respect for them because Dilly and Bilal would've spoken publicly to them, but instead they chose libel. Shame, but unsurprising.
DISCUSSION SUMMARY
The Syrian Revolution and its Aftermath
The Arab Spring led to various outcomes in different countries, including Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Bahrain, and Syria, with Syria being the most complex and unique due to its geography and foreign involvement 05:53.
Shifting Perspectives on the Syrian Conflict
The Alawites were traditionally regarded as non-Muslims by Shia Muslims, but this rhetoric changed due to the political alliance between Iran and Syria since the 1980s 10:28.
Geopolitics and the Syrian Revolution
The Iranian government should have made a deal with the Syrian rebels in 2017 when they had the upper hand, but instead, they were too arrogant and now they've lost everything 20:36.
Media Coverage and Interviews
The claim that MI5 set up an interview with Ahmed Al Shar is outrageous and slanderous, and the process of getting the interview was the same as for other news outlets 28:52.
Defending Past Actions and Criticizing Current Policies
The speaker defends their past support for certain groups in Syria, including Jabhat al-Nusra, and believes that these groups have evolved over time and may still play a role in the country's future 34:20.
International Relations and the Syrian Conflict
The West's acceptance of certain groups in Syria, such as HTS, may be due to a lack of choice or a desire to deal with the current power holders 41:32.
Personal Reflections and Criticisms
The speaker clarifies their position on Syria, stating that they support an Islamic Syria and the revolution, but do not support any specific faction, including HTS 48:49.
Disagreements and Accusations within the Left
The discussion revolves around the Syrian conflict and the speaker's past associations with Press TV, an Iranian-funded channel, and their shift in views over time 01:04:48.

Roshan gets it. People are celebrating too soon without thinking things through.
really? you think celebrating the liberation of Syria after 55 years of Alawaits bloody ruling and the killing of millions of Syrians is not worth of celebrating??
Sure things are up in the air and we should withhold judgment on the 'new regime', but we can still celebrate the fall of a brutal dictator.
To me, Dilly’s got it right.

Your comment is dripping with stupidity and arrogance. Let me guess, you are Sunni?
That's funny BC Ayatollah Khamenei has issued countless fatwas to the Shia to refrain from cursing personalities that other sects revere. It's not mainstream Shia Islam to slander and curse the Sahaba. Don't stereotype a whole group on the actions of a few. There is good and bad in every sect!
I don't respect people who use dajjalic talking points guy. I have done extensive research on Twelvers especially your ayatollah for several years so I don't fall for your deceptions.
I disagree with u
the most important and critical thing is to put Allah first, to fear Allah in our fight and to seek his help first and foremost against the Israelis this is what will bring victory inshallah to the ummah
this is what history actually teaches us over and over again
@ agreed. The ones doing that the most inmho are the Houthies of Yemen. Respect to them.

A decade of civil war, sanctions, regular bombings by the USA and Israel and destruction and theft and its balkanisation by vested parties caused the chaos that was also added to in the end by Russia, Iran and Hezbollah.
most of them are confused and unfortunately most people are, except for those Allah ﷻ has blessed.

Hizbullah and Iran are just 2 sides of the same coin with Israelis.
For Zionists Palestinians are terrorists for hizbullah and Iran Syrians are Isis
The studio setting look much better without that big table in the middle.
Brother Dilly, we need an episode with Daniel Haqiqatjou he has been criticizing this victory since it started
What does he know about politics really?!
Weird conversation tbh. Still non the wiser. Agree that the old left are usually out of touch and pandering but whether they’re right or not remains to be seen. The overlap between right, left, Sunni, Shia is interesting.
I do agree with Roshan, I am afraid HTS is sending friendly signal to Israel, and Dilly is trying to make excuse for HTS.
He certainly is making excuses for them. What a joker. 🤦🏻♂️
@@IK47-d2l then why do the HTS not at least condemn Israel for bombing Syria 500 times and taking Syrian land? Because they’re queers that’s why.
@@AzDaz-q1g what do you mean by "you guys"?
Thank you for your great work. From an italian swiss pakistani
JazaakumAllaahu Khayr 5pillars. As always I’m enjoying your content and this was a much needed discussion to be had. I don’t know if I missed it, but I would’ve appreciated it if you covered Galloway (I’m assuming he falls under the oaps category) you mentioned.
why there are conflicts between syrian militants and lebanones military while Israel incursion of syrans land is on going .why syrian militants are ignoring Israeli occupation at the same time
Because Lebanese army opened fire on new government forces
@@lotfi1053 but i listened that syrian militants came with bulldozer and gunmen on border post of lebanones military in first place ????
Roshan what you said about the Rebels and Al Qaeda. You can’t trust them and Jolani well he’s a cheap Zelensky with a beard!! But he won’t get any money like Zelensky!! And Dilly you need to change your tune and take a note from Roshan!!
Keep your opinions to yourself w you guys are traitors to muslims (if you are a muslim)
😂😂😂😂 cry more.
True
@salimchandia2110 we love him, and we hate Russia, the same as the US and the zios.
Great work as usual my brother's keep it up
Im very glad you are clarifying this as I just finished re-reading Roshan's book where he was very pro-Assad.
Sta mor kwas waghayam
Why support the removal of one ruler and not another? Why have king Abdullah overthrown and not MBS. What it shows that brother Roshan, sadly doesn't have a solid premise other than what he sees as benefit and harm. Clearly this will lead to an inconsistent position on such matters. So, whether a ruler is a crony of the West or the East, why does it make any difference. Are any of the Muslim rulers without an allegiance and loyalty to a foreign power?
Sorry I have to disagree with Roshan..Allah knows best.
You guys spend far too much time on Twitter.
Where can I find the documentary that Roshan made about MI5, very interested in watching it

I find dilly's position on Syria too simplistic. I agree with Roshan. I wish if Dilly allowed Roshan to speak his mind fully and not keep cutting him in the middle.
Your view is rather simplistic not his. His is rather nuanced.
@@hurataimad-s3q Then explain how Roshan's position is simplistic and wrong?
As a Syrian, Roshan got it totally wrong. Dilly's view is not simplistic
@@IK47-d2l So explain how it is wrong.
@@Naruto-db8yg Roshan clearly buys into the Iranian Propaganda, that is more than enough to be wrong!
While I am with you in regard to false friends, as an oldie myself married to an oldie, I think the over 60 generation still have a lot to contribute in terms of experience and insight. I would like to hear more voices from the older generation of our own in your interviews because our religion is based on respect for the elders and mercy on the young.
I noticed a few cuts near the end when discussing Ritter and the like. I think I understand... haha, respect.
"Forget about that you're done with them, what have you done for them?" So true 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Asc to my brothers absolutely I m with roshan about Syria I was happy that evil dectator is gone and the Syrian coming back to their homes again but there’s something fishy why all of the sudden the western gov aligned new gov?
Amin on your Duas brother Dilly 🤲🏻🪻🌹🌹💚
@Dilly
You should invite some brothers who are capable of giving a very clear idea of whats going on in the Islamic World
We sunnis are always with you Roshan and dilli...!
Walleekum salaam I got no idea what the hell u guys are on about. I watch 5 pillars every week. I got idea what betrayal and things. Keep it moving Roshan is principled man. Has the guts to say a lot of what’s on peoples minds. I love you for the of Allah azwajul my brother. JundAllah jundAllah
Brothers do you need assistance with 5pillars in any way? I would like to help Robert and Dilly with their reporting in any way I can both whilst their in-country and as well for any foreign assignments. I have a degree but no real experience with journalism just a strong belief in what you men are doing for the ummah.
Iran isn't a neighbor country of Syria.
Might as well be since the shia got control of Iraq
Well as it now is politically 8n control of Iraq..Yes it is a neighbour!
Maashaa Allah. Excellent analysis and honest conversation on current events in Syria. I find your channel very informative and well balanced. Lots of love and support from South Africa.

@@5Pillars JazakAllah khayr!
@@5Pillars What about the one from back then on the Somali community?
Very good and needed discussion

Sufyani l.a will be the caliph of sunnis. If that happens I'll leave sunnism for ever and will never look back
Just wait n watch time will prove this itself just keep an open mind and heart.
Leave it now and join shi'i, weak heart. 😂
Keep reading this kitabul fitn by Nuam bin Hammad, most of the Hadith used in that book, sanads are weak.
No wonder why you're leaning towards misguidance.
As if you are doing islam a favour by being sunni 🙄
What about the long game perspective for Syria? Normalize relations with the West/Zios so that you can rebuild economy and infrastructure and foreign direct investment. Maybe over next 2 to 8 years. Then eventually becoming a regional powerhouse again, which can only be achieved through establishing relations with the imperialists??
WHERE IS BILAL ABDULKARIM'S INTERVIEW?!?!?!

Any expectation on the new syrian government to immediately join the resistance in any way is imprudent and silly
