I've owned two of these for about 5-6 years now and they're are workhorse speakers. I team it with a Mackie ProFX12 and it's a killer clean setup. Enough power for a duo or trio indoors / outdoors while barely lighting up the output meter light on the mixer. People are bitching about the new ones because of having to go through pages to get through settings....gotta love the old "here are your buttons!" approach of these speakers. These are also great FRFR if you want to run an amp sim pedal or board into them.
Hey there, i was thinking of buyign a pair of JBL eon 615 but my question is if for the price this is the best option compared to other speakers on the market, also i keep thinking if its worth to wait on a newer line or just go for it, i would very much appreciate your opinion and generally would you recommend them. Thanks!
I have had and used my Eon 15G2s for years of reliable service. I will be moving up to the Eon 615s this summer. Pairing it with my DBX drive rackPA2. Thanks for review.
hi i got a pair of those speaker , I'm using for home karaoke , can you help me with the best setting for it please ! should i using the EQ setting or just keep it stay FLAT or turn the EQ off. thank you
bro do what sounds best. I got mine a couple months back still paying em off but the eq sounds seem quite negligible. Just keep it flat you're gonna have the most change from your voice actually and the track and making sure the mic is good and the levels are right.
You need to buy a digital board and eq the settings if you want to be a pro. Each persons voice is different so to leave it flat with highs and mid high low might be best for you.
Look for the Head to Head Poll - What Speaker would you like to see the JBL Battle the ALTO TS312, EV ZLX12P, Mackie Thump12A, or the Headrush FRFR-112
Glistening Kabana yea i returned the speaker months ago. Went with an EV and the bluetooth is not great on the ev but it works. Wish it was as easy as the fender fortis, the bluetooth is great on those units.
killyamomz Ah cool. Yeah it’s odd JBL didn’t add the feature of streaming music off your phone. Although for gigging I’d prefer a wired connection as opposed to Bluetooth, but for at home, definitely Bluetooth streaming is super convenient.
I love Mackie Srm series. At this moment Mackie Srm 450 v3 here in Portugal is 376 eur. And JBL Eon 612 is at 339 euros. Between these 2 models which one you choose and why?
I use Mackie SRM-450s as my mains, and a pair of EON 612s as stage monitors. The EONs also get used at smaller music playback gigs. If you're going for one or the other, definitely go for the SRM-450s, I find that they have a lot more punch and a much greater distance is covered.
Sorry, but I would like to add a different explanation for the woofer wave guide that you described at about the 8:00 minute mark. The purpose of the woofer wave guide is to make the horizontal exit wave front of the woofer narrower, hence “increasing” the coverage width of the woofer at its upper frequency range, from 1 kHz to 1.8 kHz. Without this woofer waveguide, there would be interference cancellation between the left portion of the woofer cone and the right portion of the woofer cone, as perceived from the side of the speaker. The addition of this woofer wave guide “narrows” the woofer’s effective radiating area, hence reducing the off-axis interference for shorter-wave frequencies from the woofer, therefore “increase” the woofer’s angular coverage of its upper frequencies. The end result is, like you said, to get consistent frequency response for everyone, albeit for a different reason =) The speaker, even with this waveguide, still does not limit the low frequencies below 500 Hz outside the hF horn’s coverage. Your will still hear the low boom only with no midrange and HF when you move behind the speaker’s frontal plane.
I have these, been messing with the app but, it’s making my songs sound horrible everything’s all off. I just want it to play my songs normally, I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Been messing with it for hours at a time
Will the Bluetooth button stay on when pressed? I want to be able to turn on the speaker remotely and have Bluetooth enabled automatically when turned on.
Hi.... What do You think about eon 610 vs IRX108bt. ???? Which is better for lIve profesional músic? Which sounds better and powerfull? Or rhe sound is almost the same?????
@@expertisland sorry. I did not understand. Both speakers have 124 dB, but irx108bt is smaller. That means both have similar sound power, bass and clarity????? I bought recently a eon 610 but in México irx 108bt is cheaper and now i'm not Shure if I did a good purchase. Please your opinión about it and the sound Quality about eon 610. I worry about My purchase.
If I use one channel for playing music from an iPad but i use it like mic funtion, is ok???? Sound is louder than línea funtion. Totaly!!! I never use full power.
I was liking it until i saw you need an app to use it. Too much digital stuff makes it difficult to use. Too many things going wrong. Just give me an ordinary speaker.
Never, ever, ever, do a review of a main speaker and tell your audience "if you drop it your fine". That nonsense is just apallingly bad advice. For anyone listening DO NOT just go and drop your speaker because this guy said it would be ok.

I try to connect speaker Bluetooth to my iPhone and play music but it doesn’t work, Am I doing something wrong? Please advise
I believe it is for setup only. Not for Bluetooth music.

Nothing like the G2s I had six, used for running local rock bands and Djing--the Best ever!
The review of the Blastking line arrays are looking good. That may be my next set.
Can this speaker use in clubs?
Beats Alto TS412?

Hello uncle, can I check with you whether you ship to Singapore? Any website where I can make purchase from you?
Sorry not in Singapore, only in Canada.

expert island I’d like to see it battle the Alto or Mackie! Great video btw!
So how do you play music from a device via bluetooth on this speaker?
You would need something like the Alto Total XLR Bluetooth receiver to plug into the speaker, then you could stream music.

just double check and you have to reconnect by pushing the button every time.

I think over all the irx is better for small setups

Try not to use the mic as an line input that puts a lot of stress on the pre-amp
@@expertisland thanks for your answer
can these be used in sync on bt mode with another Eon 612?
How would you pair these speakers with a sub?
I would use an XLR cable out of the top in to the subwoofer, the Bluetooth is just for the JBL APP not the music.
@@expertisland yeah gotcha, but I mean how do you set the crossover? Does the "sub" setting on the eq do that?
What if the speaker doesn’t connect to your Bluetooth
That app is doing my head in! So hard to use I wish it just had bass and treble knobs
A display on the back would be good as a fix-all, I find I just turn the EQ off because I can't remember how I left it the last time I used it.
Very informative video. Thanks!
U can’t play music through your phone??
Yes Vs the Alto 2000 watt 12 inch
Alto 312 or headrush frfr
And you noticed that they are only 250W Rms?
Details from JBL site Power Rating 1000W Peak (700W LF + 300W HF), 500W Continuous (350W LF + 150W HF)
Great review, thanx.
I was liking it until i saw you need an app to use it. Too much digital stuff makes it difficult to use. Too many things going wrong. Just give me an ordinary speaker.
Youre oldskool
The app is optional. My guitars sound great through these speakers without it. I've tried the app and find it time consuming and unnecessary.
Rcf art 715
I would like to see it up against an alto

Stop being so dramatic. He never told anyone to drop it. People like you are what's wrong with the world.
Dude he was just expressing how sturdy it is. Nobody is going to purposely drop one. Dramatic
bwaha....seriously dude?
