As someone who’s lived with the non-buckets and now buckets in the g80, the non-buckets cater more to comfort but the buckets make the driving experience different! They are also very comfortable, just drove 800 miles in them and they were just fine! They are noticeably more difficult to get in and out of especially for anyone sitting in them for the first time but worth the extra effort to me!
Could not agree more! It can be a pain at times but they are just so comfortable and the fit is just so nice. It really helps with the handling, turns and ramps.
@@myounz Interesting. I was just about to be put off them by the "over 6ft over 200 pounds" argument. I'm not as tall as you but do have wide thighs, and it just seemed to me that the thingies on the side of the seat would be uncomfortable on longer journeys.
I have the cinnabar red with the standard seats. They say the racing seats are more weekend drivers. I do more long range driving due to living in the country. But I do wish they were easy to change out. I would switch mine out on the weekends to race at the track. Great video !
Agreed! It would've been nice to swap them out if need be. Have you looked into it? I personally have not. I saw "Daily Driven" remove his fronts halfway so he can swap out the speaker below the seat so maybe it's not too bad? I'll need to look into it to know for sure.
They provide great support and bolstering. At the same time they are a pain to get in and out of. I opted for the standard bucket seats, as it will be my DD and have no plans to track it.
Some reviews were saying that middle carbon fiber (the nut holder) is bothersome since you need to have your thigh over it at times for pressing the brakes or clutch. What are your thoughts?
Absolutely, check out my 1 year review for more detail. I feel like I’m a bit of a bigger dude and hardly notice or have issues. If you’re new I can see it being bothersome but I think it’s just natural for me. Also I’m not manual so maybe clutch gets annoying I wouldn’t know.
Hey I just found this video and I am trying to figure out if I will fit in the seat comfortably I’m 6 4 ~240. This would be a daily driver and I’m just trying to figure out if I would fit.
So for me I’m around 6,1 and I used to be closer to 300. Now around 250 and personally love them. I’d say after about 6+ hours I may get sore on long trips but weekend one or two hour trips are bearable
To get in put one hand on the wheel and the other hand on the door sill to prop yourself up over the thigh bolster. The get out basically do the same thing in reverse.. The hand on the door sill is key for not sliding on the thigh bolster.
^^^ I second this! I will make a video of a few ways I get in n out. It’s honestly just become natural to me but people that haven’t been in my car before tend to struggle a bit.
This is the best video on these seats on the internet. Thank you so much for making this.

100% agree, I feel like their biggest con in entering / leaving but outside of that they are amazing. Congrats on your g80!
@@myounz thank you 🙏!

I'd like to see your approach for getting in and out. Any tips of what works or doesn't work would be useful to know. That's my major issue with them.

Black seats are so boring with such an awesome car. M Cars need to stand out at all costs.
But from a longevity standpoint it makes the most sense. The 2 tones wear out fast.
Your seat looks worn....how much do you weigh?
It’s a known issue. They have no cross stitching according to another RUclipsr. Minute 12:58 ruclips.net/video/x7leNj5QMCg/видео.html
maybe because he driving car and uses it? 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂
They look brand new💀💀💀
