A great and balanced review of these beautiful seats. I get the wow factor and their performance, but I will stick with the comfort seats on my M3 order. I will be using the car a lot and I value comfort and durability. Plus I don’t want my passengers struggling to get in and out.
Fun fact at BMW they told me most of the guys drift in the buckets instead of proper tracking which has more dynamic change of lateral g-forces therefore you are pushed to the sides more often and the high support help you maintain a safe driving position. They know their customers and they offer them the best! Love the company
Great video. I just got mine today same exterior color as urs. The seats are great…for track, which is why I bought the car. Lots of daily they seem like theyd be annoying. Also, there’s someone out there that makes a cover for the outside bolster to prevent wear and tear.
At 6"4 and 240 tried these at the dealership and I'm skipping on these . They r good looking but a daily driver getting in and out not worth it for me ☺️.
I haven’t decided yet because I have scoliosis and I dunno for daily driving should I go with the other seats ? The other ones look more cushioned anyone who knows difference between those
Man I'm so on the fence with these seats right now. I live down in Houston and the base seats can be equipped with the vented option and seem so comfortable, but these carbon fiber seats look great, it's the toughest decision of the purchase honestly. Problem is with inventory the way it is no one has a car with the regular seats and another with the carbon so I can try them both out.
@@mmccorm11 I went with the standard seats with ventilation and love it. I've sat in a few cars with the carbon and they're nice, but the standard vented are super clutch down here on the hot days. I especially like turning on heat and vent at the same time.
@@mmccorm11 when I order the next build I'll do the vented again. If I can pay for a carbon back on the vented seats I will, but the bolster and no ventilation, nah, the standard seats feel great and hold you in place well and look great
@@setalias and did you get automatic or manual? That’s where I’m stuck…. The additional torque on the comp model is ridiculous, but I wish I didn’t have to compromise
Im also torn between the two options. I’ve now started seeing some M3’s with over 10K mileage on the bucket seats and the bottom cushion starts to wrinkle bad. Like you stated in your video, over time how are the seats going to look specially maybe 2-4 years into ownership.
The carbon buckets are cool and all but man is that Aventurin Red so good, does it look darker in person than pictures? I imagine it kind of like a dark cherry with slight orange or bright red metallic flake? Looks like it just comes alive when the sun hits it, great spec!
I'm soooo glad I opted them, first I didn't and changed my mind after the test drive with them. Yes in- and egress are a pita, but once youre in they are comfy and soooo special. Altough im a fat fu... i fit in very well.
Just curious: Whats the purpose of the thing in the middle of the seat between the legs? Is it just a design element or does it have also a functionality?
Thanks...all these reviews and I have yet to learn how a lady in a dress or skirt exits the carbon seats without exposing.... There must have been hundreds of reviews of the M4 carbon seats during 2021 and 2022, yet not one review demonstrating a lady entering/exiting the car while in a dress/skirt. Your thoughts greatly appreciated.
The REAL issue here is BMW is raising the base price of the G80/G82 by a flat $3700 for MY23. It's also rumored that these seats are also going from $3900 -> $4500 as options. Honestly getting into just ridiculous territory lol. I plan on ordering a G80 xDrive, but with the recent bump in pricing, I'm gonna have to ditch the killer looking seats.
This! The seats cost almost as much as X Drive, are they worth 4+ grand? maybe Are they worth 4+ grand MORE than the sport seats, absolutely not! I’m trying to keep this car under $90,000, the sport seats will have to do
Awesome video. Sucks that getting these in the G87 forces a $9,000+ carbon package that should be split apart, in my opinion. Subscribed to follow along with this beautiful spec
Great video I was so torn on my order. I didn't choose them in the end because my commute is 30 min and didn't want to deal with it daily. Using the 3800 for pipe mods instead. I got the Cf inlets I think that is a must even if u got black accents
Yes. Electric slide, electric base tilt and height, electric side bolster tightness. Manual back tilt I think, certainly the back release to access the back seats is manual unlike the normal seats.
I basically have the same spec as your car but I chose the ivory white buckets seats. In my opinion they are a must because these might very well be the last bmws being ICE so having this as an option makes these cars very desirable later on

The only part about the buckets that’s a pain is the getting in and out but driving daily no issue I love mine
same. For a long trip maybe but for daily driving where I have to get in and out multiple times a day I can't do it.
As far as looks, those are some of the best looking car seats I've seen
I agree totally!
