  • Well this one has certainly turned out WAAAY longer than expected but there were just so many items to cover in detail, not that you'll be complaining I think ;)
    / rrcrestoration
So anyway i wont bore you all be describing every detail in this description box but a brief rundown is The engine is rebuilt, the carb is super cleaned, the airbox and exhaust get rebuilt and the frame and plastics get a much needed freshen up so anyway,
so please enjoy and leave a little comment to let me know your thoughts :)

I'm a retired master auto tech and the thing I appreciate about your video's is the fact that you use your torque wrench properly all the time and that you pay attention to all the details when assembling everything. Keep up the great work!

Just because I never really learned how to properly use a torque wrench, how does someone use a torque wrench improperly? I’ve always just used one to the specifications and I thought it was foll proof but apparently I’m wrong. I’d love to know more.

    • @Morannar
      @Morannar Год назад +3

      @@picassomooon same here.
I've been around several shops (even official one) and I've never seen a torque wrench being used. When time is money (and when it's not your car/bike) they always use power tools. Not to mention the difference between Phillips and Pozidriv, hex and torx, plus and normal..
On the other hand... I, an amateur, own 6 different torque wrench (down to 1,5 Nm up to 240) and God only knows how many boxes of bits.
So I can say, with pretty confidence, that most torque wrench users are NOT professional, and that most amateurs know how to properly use said tools.

Your video has the best camera positioning, correct silence-periods, perfect torqueing, meticulous attention to detail, clean working environment, passion and dedication to motorcycle-repair, tons and aeons of humour! Congratulations again!! (And now I'm going out to buy a BETA Rev 3-2003 model I just saw in the ads, because of you...hahaha!) Thanks very much, as this video is for meditational purposes also...)

I really love how thorough you are with everything. I suggestion perhaps… could you do a series on the detail stuff? Example…
    1. detail cleaning, chemical vs. hone vs. ultrasonic.
    2. A deep dive into fiberglassing or body repair. what to use and when.
    3. Explain electro plating. Setup, benefits and so on.
    Just a few suggestions.
    Thanks for the great content!

I'm only 4 minutes in and looking forward to seeing how you deal with the mechanical seal. I understand that reassembling these can be rather finicky and requires everything to be nice and straight/parallel otherwise they leak. Edit: This looks to be a bit different than the ones I've seen, without a flat teflon mating surface.

    Hi,
Please forgive me for any english mistakes I do, english is not my mother language.
I really enjoy watching your restoration videos and it looks like you are a real professional in everything you are doing.
I this video I think you did a small mistake with the water pump bearings.
The inner bearing as far as I know should be a sealed one.
The reason for this is that when the rubber sealing will tear the water will not go directly to the engine oil and you will have time to see the leak from the small hole between the rubber seal and the first bearing. This is a control hole like in any other water pump in every car or motorcycle.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
