Ideas for overcoming the intro and outro text, from most boring to HYPE!
1) Pause the video so we can read it ourselves (UNSUB...jk)
2) You read it and butcher the pronunciations (much to our delight)
3) Crowd sourcing. Allow fans to submit voice-overs with the best one making it to the video (time consuming)
4) Collaboration with Spirit of the Law where he reads through the text in his smooth and buttery voice!
I would prefer either of the last two options. If not then there's always the Viper reading us bedtime stories lul

yeah... reading is not that immersive to the story of the episode. I really like the voice-over contest idea
I actually really like Viper doing all the hard work and reading everything. It's a lot of text to cover, but come on, 1) people are too lazy to read everything themselves, 3) would take too much time and episodes would become extremely rare, 4) it's unlikely Spirit is going to cooperate and do the work, as far as I know, he refused to cocast on twitch with popular AoE2 streamers, so he won't agree to read it.

Viper careful with the legionaries, they are just jaguar warriors with different graphics, so don't fight them with infantry.

Yeah, Legionaries have trample dmg and benefit from any infantry bonus, for example Malian or Japanese :-).
Viper asks for directions to a local pub, you tell him "to the right until you see a sign with a bear, that'll be it". Viper goes left, goes up to a private home and starts smashing the door, "is this the pub?" can be heard several times until Viper has broken down the door and then goes away to walk further left. At some point he finally starts walking back to the right, but at that point he has already forgotten about the sign.

he's not only a legend in the game, but he has become a comedic legend to me, also.
If it makes you feel any better Viper I took out both gates and that Castle to the North (sending me down to 4 units) before I realized that I wasn't supposed to go that way. Took me a million years to find the path across the river, then lost my last non-Alaric units just south of the monastery. I had to run Alaric back and forth attacking the towers and getting healed by the monk for like an hour before being able to take out those last two towers ROFL Still got control of a bunch of units afterwards though so it was fine.

I'm excited you finally got to the Forgotten Campaigns! I enjoyed the difficulty of these ones, reminding me of Ulio and some of the other great heaven's forge scenarios/campaigns!
Z McFeron but "Ulio" or the "King's best men" are mastapieces in comparison to some AoFE campaigns and they don't have bugged pathing.
I always assume Viper forgot to play one other mission under William Wallace:
"Okay, you know how to feed an army, now it's time to learn how to keep heroes alive." (In Scottish accent)

The Forgotten feels more like an RPG than RTS.

Scouts: "Rome lies to the west, but its walls are too thick to breach, do not bother entering the city."
Viper: Leaves 50% of the shoreline unexplored, tries to breach the walls of rome and starts scouting the north east border of the map.
Classical Viper not reading instructions properly.
"There is another passage in the north." usually means along the river in such a case, not on the complete opposite side of the map.
I facepalmed so hard at that river crossing "scouts every part of the map EXCEPT some part of the river" Biper pls.

Out of all the campaigns I have been most looking forward to this one. These campaigns infuriated me and watching Viper troll on through is an absolute delight! Keep it up bro!

Scythian Scout is actually a hero and can regenerate , also it is quite strong , you can make a great use of him next time !!!
there are two things that make the new campaigns tough:
1. sometimes you have to micro your hero or a small group of units against a huge number of enemies. guess this should be smaller problem for you (in case you don't yolo your hero forward...)
2. there are a few campaigns, where enemies spawn a crazy number of units (without having an eco but endless res). this can be very very frustrating... it's just about having a bigger unit spawn than the enemy with the difference that you have to feed your spawn with your eco.
the unit spawn is really annoying.
i understand they wanted to make the new campaigns more challenging, but because they couldnt improve the ai,
they just let it cheat.

yeah beatable but frustrating and i have the feeling up to a certain level it's not a matter of skill any more, but a matter of endurance (I'm round 1600 on voobly). running against a never ending stream of higher upgraded gold units is stupid.
Stenkrm and don't forget keeping up with the objectives changing every 5 seconds lol it gets really annoying
objectives are retarded in this. i dont think they make much sense. there should be one overall goal with steps you gotta fulfill to achieve it.
shouldnt ever happen that you think the mission is over and suddenly a new objective pops up.
It is useless to fight the endless stream of units, my tactic to victory is to create a shit ton of hussars and lots of siege rams, with the hussars you raid and go straight to eco, with the siege rams you destroy castles, the ai just simply cant fight 2 groups at the same time so will send all his units chasing your hussars all around lagging and having trouble moving while ignoring your rams, go straight for eco, its way less stressfull that fighting the endless stream of units with that annoying micro, I did this at Buckhará, and it was really easy, just run around harassing villagers with hussars while sending army of rams, computer will just explode and wont know what to do.

try to pay attention to the road/path/dirt path graphics in the campaign! there was a path leading right to that river crossing from the road

Looking forward to seeing TheViper complete the 4th Alaric campaign. I played it for hours, but the technology disadvantage for Castle Age and the constant, infinite stream of Imperial Units such as onagers, trebuchets, bombards, and cavaliers is almost impossible to break through didn't allow me to win yet. I am still an intermediate player on Voobly and high on Steam.
reeeaaally makes me anxious seeing all those red health bars when a monk is available xD but that's just Viper's confidence for you. Knew it wasn't necessary and that units could be lost
Wow i played this campaing 2 times but i never noticed that path in 24:40, i always set italians to enemies and destroyed their gate i am so shocked lol
The worst thing about The Forgotten campaigns is that half of the time you play Metal Gear Empires instead of building and managing your empire.
Exactly, it doesn't feel like a RTS game.
I, on the other hand, enjoyed the missions with limited units. They are different, and emphasize proper unit management, not just sending them all in.
Sure, the limited unit levels can be fun, but when you only have 4 guys or less against an entire army it turns into a Hideo Kojima production.

From what I’ve heard, the pathing in the Forgotten is börked because a lot of scenery pieces (especially trees and bushes) don’t follow the map grid, they are placed like, halfway between tiles which just completely messes with the AI.
Map design seems much better than the original campaigns, however, the lack of voice acting is detrimental to the overall clarity of the missions. Still sounds exciting to discover new campaigns!

The FE campaigns would probably be worth redoing in DE. They were largely improved overall and the Inca campaign was replaced
in my first attempt I did the exact same thing, I though that the way north was through the bridge. Although I lost most of my army trying to go down the shore, so in the last part it was impossible to stop the legions..

Lol, in the original Forgotten Empires for the CD version, the voices in this scenario are done by ZeroEmpires and a few others. The guard is ZeroEmpires. Kinda cringy to listen to 11
I'm not sure, but i think when i played this scenario (as soon as it was released) the yellow player had plenty of units including battering rams to destroy the market. A lot of Centurions, too. I remember i got lost 80% of my army on that struggle. Maybe the updates turned it less harder.
You should install toplo as narrator-and-voice-actor-modifikation for this series.
Other than pathing, Forgotten Maps are also very different compared to AoK campaigns. AoK campaign maps are very small and streamlined, made to be as obvious as possible for everyone. Forgotten Maps on the other hand are more like world maps scattered with units, buildings and missions on them, similar to semi-open RPG.
Alaric is just a taste of it. Wait for Eldorado and we'll see a "Biper searching for a way out from a forest simulator".
P.S You might also want to consider to start African Campaign simultaneously (switching between Forgotten and Africa continuously). They are voiced and slightly more similar to AoK campaigns, therefore you'll have a varied content between them.
I hate how the forgotten tried to be as cheap as possible, to make as much money as possible. No voiceovers ruins the epic vibe the original used to give you.

Actually it was made my an indie fan dev team and then Microsoft just thought it was so well made they included it as a bonus. It literally all made with mods and scenario editor so pretty amazing
This campaign is fairly easy but darn it is detailed and interesting. A lot like the hunnic one. I do like it. Even more so with the new fantastic looking condottieri.

half of the reason i check in to these series are for the bloopers like viper not finding the river etc, thats funny.
where as if he'd just run through everything clean, fast etc, it would just be boring imo..
