The camel archers you receive from Saracens ally might be the most OP unit in the game : they are fully upgraded with Parthian Tactics (which Berbers don't have) so 1+6 pierce armor, they have the Saracens attack bonus vs buildings AND they benefit from Zaelotry which gives them +30 HP, so they have 115 HP, 8+4 attack 1+4/1+6 armor. These things are disgustingly strong.
Yeah, i tested in the editor, gave saracens post-imp elite camel archer, those stats....

only downside is that they don't regenerate ... but honestly, who cares ... with those stats they won't die any time soon anyways, lol
-on a sidenote ... saracen imperial camels are also fun with their 190 health-

Fun fact: the land that thariq landed at became known as Jabal Thariq( Thariq's Mountain) then was renamed to Gibraltar

Btw, yeah, game speed affects when dialogue triggers, but it doesn't speak faster. So dialogue can be overlapped or cut off on faster speeds.
VIPER look at 45:39 the "rocks" (those giant stone thingys) can actually be mined if you are in a need of gold you might wanna check if the rocks you see are minable!
Your villagers actually automatically mine the gold mine "under" the rock, leaving an "empty" rock there.
Those rocks by the gold are actually gold themselves and have 600 res in em btw :)
Fantastic content by the way. In regards to your question about the speed you play at, I'd rather see you speed it up when you're moving from A to B, or building economy, but when you're having battles or something along those lines, i'd rather see regular speed.

Trivia: Gibraltar is named after this campaign’s hero, Tariq ibn Ziyad. The mountain was named the Jebel al Tariq, the rock of Tariq. This eventually morphed into Gibraltar.
Fast Speed when: moving from A to B or building economy (without getting attacked)
Normal Speed: when fighting and building economy (while being attacked)
The last Forgotten mission Bapheus gave me seizures 11 defending multiple fronts and and building eco and attacking all at fast speed I mean 90% of us watch campaigns while eating we don't wanna miss anything ahahahah

That's so right, I usually watch some AoE2 content when I have a dinner in front of my computer. :) I watched so many campaign episodes or games from stream that way, that's my routine now. I prefer normal speed for campaigns, but fast speed is fine too.

Since AOE 1 monks are the worst enemies, when we hear "wololo" everybody looks for the monk to kill it ignoring the rest of the army.
I selected Standard mode and it took me nearly 3 hours to finish it. You chose hard and finished it in less than an hour xD! Truly impressive, sir!
Congrats on getting through those tedious Forgotten Campaigns biper! The African Kingdoms and Rajas campaigns feel pretty similar to one another since they are made by the same people at Forgotten Empires. The way that I play through the newest campaigns is on a mix on normal and fast like you did here. Switching it at your discretion should be fine for the rest of the campaigns ^-^
Fact: The Gibraltar is named aftet Tairq Ibn Ziyad in honor to him.
Fact: The Visigothic Kingdom was weak and far from being organized, many betreyals were suffered between their noblemen, making it easier to the Berebers to invade.
Fact: Asturias was a Safe Heaven for Christians, it was the only place Berebers couldnt invade, later, Asturias will be the beggining of The Reconquista.
Fact: when Tariq faced Rodrik, most of his army backed down and left him only with a small guard of Huskarls, betreyal tookna huge part in this.
Spoiler: This invasion gets stopped and frustrated by Charles Martel.
This mission was very frustrating for me. When I did it I had to make four castles in the entrance of the cordoba to stop that purple spam. It might be worth to make mangonels, which imo outrange those pesky fire towers.
You did well by taking all that military production in the first section of purple city, the spam would be annoying to deal with otherwise. But holy hell, I was so incredibly terrified how in the end you just casually parked Tariq with his men under enemy castle. Two well placed shots and you'd have to do everything again :D

After playing forgotten campaigns Viper is going to find these pretty easy!!
711 AD, year 89 of the Hegira. Tariq, a Berber man who likes camels, has a small army that ventures out to conquer land.They fight the Visigoths and win. Cordoda is won by our hero.
I just realised watching Biper grouping infantries and cavalries together is more cringy than watching him killing his heroes 11

I saw Viper play a (I believe) Teuton vs Teuton tower drop focused match. While Viper ended up losing by yielding the game (his opponent ended up with over double his population and started pushing him back, while Viper had focused heavily on stone mining with little to no gold) he did an AMAZING job with aggressive tower drops that cut his opponent off from most of his starting resource sites, and then a castle drop which really locked his opponent down (if only he had placed it further into his opponent's base that would've likely been the game). So although the other guy ended up surviving long enough, as well as being lucky enough with the map's other placement of resources to bring himself back, to come back and get the win, Viper did a spectacular job. If the resources had been anywhere else, it would have been a crushing victory over a larger popped opponent.
Fun fact : The name "Gibraltar" derived from "جبل طارق" in Arabic which literally means "The mountain of Tariq"

Also, Tariq burned ships so There was no more chance to come back to south. I guess that Tariq wanna say that, ' It'II be your new home land and you need to fight for this' to his soldiers. He was really great commander.

Game speed - just do whatever works for you. I'd say fast speed (or even faster, 4.0 or 8.0) when you're just walking units across the map or waiting while buildings are being destroyed, normal speed if you're in a big fight or have multiple bases to take care of. Also, yes, if you play on fast speed some of the dialogue is going to be cut off because they are "timed" to normal speed.
I was hoping the team had learned their lesson about giving the AI unlimited resources after the forgotten but nope...

This one reminds me a lot of the Atlantean campaign in AoM
I like that the AI in the expansion campaigns isn't the hot garbage it was in the AOC campaigns and skirmishes

I think mixed speed is best. With fast speed, you (and us) might miss certain important stuff.

Btw if you build a gate over a stone wall, it does not return the stone cost of that wall (even before the wall is built). So you basically pay 20 stone for 4 tiles of wall and extra 30 for the gate. Am I right on that?
I think the best is the mix between fast and normal speed.
Fast speed will mess up the dialogs. We told you this campaigns ago. Its the reason, why you werent able to read the dialogs in the forgotten campaigns.

One thing I dislike about this campaign is it doesn't reward early rush. Only one strategy, turtle, build up then sweep them in one stroke. No point to attack early or prolong the siege because they have infinite resources

Maybe transition to light cav/camel archer in future comps kind of like magyar since you have the cavalry discount and that way you have more gold for camel archers
The voice acting...I don't know..I find it a bit cheesy if you know what I mean. When I first heard the guy doing the William Wallace campaign it reminded me of Micheal Meyers doing his Fat Bastard character,,, LOL

why did i had to spend 3 hours finishing this mission with 4 castles next to each other defending like a crazy.. ? ? when the game was finished my score was 130.000ish with 8000 units killed.
because those enemy bois have infinite ressources. Very fun to play against -not-
interesting that Tariq conquered the Iberian peninsula with the goal of conquering Constantinople by land as it is almost impossible for arabs by sea.
Caliph Uthman made that proposal, but it's not clear if he's serious about the route, or if he's just using it as motivation for conquering Iberia.
A Muslim army from Iberia would have to cross four major mountain ranges (Pyrenees, Alps, Dinaric Alps, Balkan Mts.) to reach Constantinople. Hannibal's path from Catalonia to Rome - a great logistic achievement - covered only 1/3 of the distance of Uthman's route.

They probably put it as a stand in for "Romans" (because of the architecture).
Fortunately, Spanish and Byzantines are getting the same architecture style as the Italians and Portuguese in the Definitive Edition.

Indeed we do! Not only are famous people like El Cid remembered in popular tales (which often embellish much more than the official version, LOL), but the conquest, the following marginalization of native Iberians, and the Reconquest are all important parts of our history and stories.
It's even filtered down into everyday expressions. One example that comes to mind is "no hay moros en la costa" (there are no Moors in the coast), which is a way of saying there's no opposition or obstacle. Also, "moro" (Moor) is used as an insult worse than "bitch."
