@Masked Oddity Everyone can learn from one another. I too was a total noob but then I asked the pros to teach me. They did and now Im medium. Some people just don't know what to do and when. If they seem like decent people then show them. You never know...they could turn out to be very good players once you do...…… :)
Ah, Age Of Empires 2. One of those games I wish I was good at, before I realise that I'm not good at gaming in general, let alone one as good but tough to master as this. But you know a game is really good ,when you feel like a noob but still love it. Kudos for this video, I had a great time.
You forgot the people who resigns in team games, when game takes longer then 30 minutes just to stay in the game telling everybody that he knows from the start that you would lose.
I am a "Never Give Up" guy. Don't play a lot of online RTS games, but one time in Warhammer 40k Dawn of War, I was 3v3 or something, got stomped as a noob, and had one Space Marine guy left. My team fought off the other guys, and I followed them from the outskirts of the battlefield, doing so little effect with my one little guy, shooting into the fray and kiting around. Picture a full on war. Lasers like raindrops, explosions killing my frame rate, squads of aliens and vehicles roaring into battle, and meanwhile; some dinky little Space Marine pew pewing into the black hole of battlefield chaos. I hard a similar experience at a Games Work shop store local to my older brother. They had an event on the big table, brought out a Titan, or God-Machine model, and me, with my dumb starting set, and like a half dozen other players went at it. My squad was wiped, save for one model. And somehow, while in the epicenter, by lucky rolls, he lasted for far too long. Don't remember if he actually survived until the end of the game, or if they cut the game early. I gave that lil guy a special custom ribbon after that.
T90: "Unlike most pros Fatslob isn't gonna stop at one layer of stone walls, my guess is that he is gonna get 2 or 3." Fatslob creates 9 layers... never change Fatslob. never change
I'm a guerrilla warfare dude. When I play team matches I spread 5-6 villagers into all back sides of the enemy bases, and create 2-3 barracks and 1 workshop on each and start small attacks from all sides, basically is to panic the enemy while my allies clean their bases.
+tekissza92 I have, many times. Have to be Diplo, FFA, or Team games though. Don't work single player. I'm a bit of a walling, micro-nerding, troll, that never gives up though. So that might be a particularly obnoxious combination. Try-harding is so boring.
3 very important exclusions. The FarmVille player- the guy who just collects resources but never builds an army until it’s too late. The Wall Luigi- the guy who either never walls because he thinks he’s too good or because he’s so bad he doesn’t know better. Then he either loses the wall battle or he he gets his resources walled out. (BF) Dr Loom- the guy who makes aggressive plays forward but never gets loom and then loses 2-3 vills to wolves in the first 10 mins.
Once I was playing with other enemy empires(4 of them), and they attacked me together and destroyed everything. I managed to flee with just 2 villagers to the other end of the map through my Ally's territory (who was already defeated earlier). Those two villagers, finally led to an establishment of a strong base and then I re-acquired my lost land which had earlier been destroyed by the enemy empires. I eventually dominated all other empires by growing more strong than all of them.

I was an AOE2 trial version player. There were hundreds of people in the trial version multiplayer room at a time. The game was limited at 50 population so you would build 49 settlers and then 50+ horse archery barracks and click them all to produce a new troop at the same time, to get over the population limit
until today i didnt know there were so many types of playing, i played this game so early as a kid that i just played for fun and now i know i was missing so much.
What about the "Towerer"? Build an army of workers and then just slowly surround your enemy with more and more towers, so you can bombard them and they can't escape.
You forgot the Islander, the player who gets off the main land and moves everything to an island defended by ships who eventually runs out of resources.
You missed the player who charges with villagers as a last stand. I do that when i feel lost. but once my villagers beat a bunch of axemen and i completed the mission(in a campaign). it just works sometimes.
I'm the one who max things out first to overwhelm the opponent with massive troops with building all over the map. Not great in multiplayer but if the enemy refuses to surrender or against AI, its satisfying as heck.
You forgot the navy player. I favor water maps and thus lean toward Vikings and Malay when playing, say, Archipelago. On those maps, I like to turtle and build my economy, then invest in building a navy. Once I'm at Imp, I'll whip out some cannon galleons, longboats, and galleons and go to town on all the enemies.
Don't forget about "The Roleplayer", who plays every match like it's some historical epic and makes sure all buildings are placed so they're visually appealing.
I like to add "The Admiral", when a player has a larger navy, than army, even if the map is dominated with rivers, I kind of fit into this class of player. Plus there is "The Knight", when a player has an army composed almost entirely of cavalry, there might be melee and ranged infantry, but the numbers are very low, and use infantry primarily as home defence. Finally, I include "The Besieger", a player who uses mostly siege weapons, towers, and fortifications to pin down the enemy on their territory, into dwindling their numbers and resources, my brother fits into this class.
People already mentioned the converters so I'll mention something else. The legion: Always has neatly formed army composition in each formation. Always the same exact type of everything they make. This player will likely plant archers behind walls and wall creep with them.
I'm the one who never gives up lol. Can't even count the number of times I've sent the small group of refugee villagers to build a new town center in some out-of-the-way spot. I often get away with it too.
always build walls then thicken the walls with turrets. They knock one down only to have 6 more behind them constantly shooting at them ... I guess I know my play style now.
Bro, sorry for the delay, but I once built an elephent army, kept it outside of my AI enemy base, and I forgot I sent a catapult to destroy one tower, ut killed the town center lol
I had this enemy doing "roads of walls" to force me to take for ever to reach their town center and destroy them. Guy didn't think about the fact that I could simply destroy the walls. ^^

The one who builds and upgrades everything before he creates his army, and ends up getting destroyed by the AI before he's ready to fight. That's me in every RTS.
The guy who explores the map with SHEEP
Wut?
Or with artifact.
oh yes, I am that kind. mixed with the Waller, but I plant towers instead

i'm newbie but i'm learning stuff lately; isn't sheep exploring kind of a meta strat these days? Spiritofthelaw does this in all his vids.
I'm a proud Waller
Me to
Fatslob, is that you?
i've been a waller since 2003
its okay to be waller
its 2020 after all
I am this player: Build everything up and make every upgrade, after this: Attack the Enemy with a strong Army.
Also me. And I try to do it as fast as I can so I don't get attacked
me too, and i have no idea what each unit specializes in so i just pick what looks cool.
@Masked Oddity lol i do that too
Lol! You'd get rushed down and killed in feudal age.
@Masked Oddity Everyone can learn from one another. I too was a total noob but then I asked the pros to teach me. They did and now Im medium. Some people just don't know what to do and when. If they seem like decent people then show them. You never know...they could turn out to be very good players once you do...…… :)
* Player walls in his opponent *
Julius Caesar: "I approve of this strat!"
Then the enemy has outside forces
**builds another layer of walls*
Julius Caesar: 😳
You forgot the guy that gives up as soon as someone steals his sheep or at first sight of the enemy.
The good old Rage quit strategy. You never lose a match
These AoE2 jokes are the nerdiest thing I've read for months.
What about the players who want their buildings neatly organized and well spaced? XD
XD So true, I would always have like Buildings Together (With the exception of Towers and Forts) and make it look like an actual, functioning Town
those are called "ocd" players... xD And I would be one of them
@@BioClone I am also one of them XD
Only to have the allies build random shit in the middle of my city
@@BioClone what does ocd stand for?
Ah, Age Of Empires 2. One of those games I wish I was good at, before I realise that I'm not good at gaming in general, let alone one as good but tough to master as this. But you know a game is really good ,when you feel like a noob but still love it.
Kudos for this video, I had a great time.
This is my relationship with literally every game I enjoy.
you just need to make your PRO GAMER GENES shine mate
@@vic0th380 "oh my goodness, why did I not think of that"
Nah, stupid joke aside, it's not completely wrong. I like the attitude. :D
T90: "Unlike most pros Fatslob isn't gonna stop at one layer of stone walls, my guess is that he is gonna get 2 or 3."
Fatslob creates 9 layers... never change Fatslob. never change
where's "The Casual" that types "how do you turn this on" the moment he starts losing against AI? ( That's me )
Gotta try it every online game in the hopes someone forgot to turn cheats off.
When the "micro nerd" is yellow, shit's real
I'm a guerrilla warfare dude. When I play team matches I spread 5-6 villagers into all back sides of the enemy bases, and create 2-3 barracks and 1 workshop on each and start small attacks from all sides, basically is to panic the enemy while my allies clean their bases.
That wolf rush with the rocky music. Amazing :)
I'm a Waller and the one who NEVER, EVER gives up. I hide villagers all around the map and I always keep enough resources to build a town center.
I know, nahuel...
Did you ever win a game with 1 villager after the enemy had an army and destroyed everything else you built?
@Rezaul karim khan Onee No I didn't
Hope my allies don't hate on me for using their resources after building a new TC next to theirs to keep on living.
+tekissza92
I have, many times. Have to be Diplo, FFA, or Team games though. Don't work single player.
I'm a bit of a walling, micro-nerding, troll, that never gives up though. So that might be a particularly obnoxious combination.
Try-harding is so boring.
That micro nerd one, wtf, I didn't knew any of this was even possible
he spam change fomation, but that timing is godly
>The Waller
In my head "Ah, FastSlob"
3 very important exclusions.
The FarmVille player- the guy who just collects resources but never builds an army until it’s too late.
The Wall Luigi- the guy who either never walls because he thinks he’s too good or because he’s so bad he doesn’t know better. Then he either loses the wall battle or he he gets his resources walled out. (BF)
Dr Loom- the guy who makes aggressive plays forward but never gets loom and then loses 2-3 vills to wolves in the first 10 mins.
The first one is pretty much normal. It's called booming player. Half players on this game do that...
And there is me... massing teutonic knights like an idiot XD
MUAHAHA Recommended too? I mass paladins :C
Sometimes I just do 20 trebuchets and cavalry to defend them. Doesn't work too often.
@@elijahhickey4573 When i play as britons i mass lowbowmen and Cavaliers, if there's plenty of gold around, otherwise just longbowmen o.o not good against buildings but nothing can get close enough to kill them xD
Just add one or two trebs for the buildings than xD and you got (almost) the perfect army.
@@fourcgames7568 or rams with more longbowmen inside of them XD
I know a guy who's an insane combination of Lamer + Waller + Never gives up. Needless to say I pretend not to be home when he comes over lol.
"I'm gonna wall myself in and boom"
"Ok boomer"
I'm sure you think now that I've walled myself I will boom and then attack you. Well. You're half right.
~Fatslob
Best game ever made.
I forget all my problems, i forget time when I play it.
this is the AoE video with the highest number of views that I know. And it totally deserves every single view that it got and hopefully it will get much more. Thanks a lot for collecting so much casting/recording material and awesome soundtrack.
That wolf kite rush is GENIUS
0:53 That was super-impressive 👍
You forgot the Islander, the player who gets off the main land and moves everything to an island defended by ships who eventually runs out of resources.
You're not getting past my walls. I chose Byzantines for a reason.
Teutons with Bombard towers and garrisoned castles
Or the Mayan for the cheap walls
@@christianlandgrave5796 Alright it took me four years but I finally found a way to deal with this: Ill build even more walls!
You missed the player who charges with villagers as a last stand. I do that when i feel lost. but once my villagers beat a bunch of axemen and i completed the mission(in a campaign). it just works sometimes.
2:02 LMAO i lost my shit at the player that never gives up, and fitting music to it
“Lie about your age”
But officer she told me she was in the imperial age! 😭
2:02 Hahaha this was good
I laughed so hard at the guy lying about his age
AoE 2 players: AoE 2 is the best game in the series !
Also AoE 2 players: * micro nerding *
I like aoe2 a lot and it is a close second. But aom is the best game in the series.
Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds is imo a better version of AoE2. Same engine, game has more depth.
@@somersault1123 Obligatory "Prostagma?"
Now combine all of them and you get the ultimate player
Only one favourite cheat
“How do you turn this on”
I'm the one who max things out first to overwhelm the opponent with massive troops with building all over the map. Not great in multiplayer but if the enemy refuses to surrender or against AI, its satisfying as heck.
You call it trolling, I call it outside the box strategy ;)
That wolf herder made me burst in laughs
SAME 😂
this vid is so funny and educating
You forgot the navy player. I favor water maps and thus lean toward Vikings and Malay when playing, say, Archipelago. On those maps, I like to turtle and build my economy, then invest in building a navy. Once I'm at Imp, I'll whip out some cannon galleons, longboats, and galleons and go to town on all the enemies.
That mangudai “joke” is great
The Farmer: just busy reseeding farms, still in Feudal, 2 Spearman by 15min
Don't forget about "The Roleplayer", who plays every match like it's some historical epic and makes sure all buildings are placed so they're visually appealing.
I was the never give up player. Siege onagers on black forest for a forest fortress, that was me.
Same, kindof.
While Fatslob may be the original waller, WALL out-walls him.
You forgot "The Minimalist" who only makes 1 Villager for each task and only builds 1 of each (unit/tech) building.
Don't lie we all did this as kids!
The Wolf Rush is the best thing I've seen today!
I feel called out by “the talkative player”
1:49 "We shall fight on the beaches, We shall fight on the streets, We shall never surrender"
Me seeing the talkative player
"hey that me"
I like to add "The Admiral", when a player has a larger navy, than army, even if the map is dominated with rivers, I kind of fit into this class of player.
The last one couldn't take the jokes and surrender Lol.
People already mentioned the converters so I'll mention something else.
The legion: Always has neatly formed army composition in each formation. Always the same exact type of everything they make.
This player will likely plant archers behind walls and wall creep with them.
I choke on my own laughter when I saw the waller.
"My guess is he is goiing to build for 2 or 3 layers.
*builds a 7-layer wall later*
I'm the one who never gives up lol. Can't even count the number of times I've sent the small group of refugee villagers to build a new town center in some out-of-the-way spot. I often get away with it too.
always build walls then thicken the walls with turrets. They knock one down only to have 6 more behind them constantly shooting at them ... I guess I know my play style now.
Lol I play Age of Mythology and I'm a mix of: The Waller + The player who never gives up + The Troll (mass elephant army?)
Bro, sorry for the delay, but I once built an elephent army, kept it outside of my AI enemy base, and I forgot I sent a catapult to destroy one tower, ut killed the town center lol
Oh no, you are Divergent !
You forgot the Refugee Player who is your n00b friend that migrates to your base after getting his base run over after 1 second of gameplay.
Alteratnative name is La Migra Player
I’m the type of guy who builds 17 fricking feitorias and millions of town centers and vils to get a massive economy
Feitorias are less effectieve than villagers, exept when resources get depleted.
joehoe222 I did include vils tho
@@khaledabdulkarimful
Feitoras take up pop space. The same pop in vils gathers more resources than a feitora.
@@khaledabdulkarimful every feitoria you make is time for villagers spent not making more TCs or working on something else
