Really enjoying the content I have watched on the channel so far. The RDA videos have been really informative but I found this channel through the Mayakashi profile and love the innovation & looking forward to seeing more! Do you think a zombie world + Doomking package is possible in your builds? I understand that it might not be optimal or the best but at the end of the day this is Mayakashi so we are not expecting miracles!

Thanks for your words, they mean a lot! I'm already working on a new archetype too, and I'll probably release the first video in a week or so.
As for your question, what I found so underwhelming about the zombie cards is that they don't provide absolutely anything if drawn alone with your mayakashi's and/or sent by Yuki Musume. Let's say you have Dakki + Yuki Musume: there's not a single zombie card that can actually help to advance your gamestate. Of course, in those cases you could simply send Banshee and access Zombie World, but they're straight up terrible cards to draw. And if we need to consider 3 card-combos at minimum, what they provide in exchange is just so little.
I'll give you an hint that I haven't shared yet: if you want to commit more into the zombie package, add Immortal Dragon in your extra deck. When you open Dakki+Rite and your Fateful gets negated by Ash, you can make Immortal Dragon and attempt to extend. Again, there's not a single card you can dump that makes a play on its own, but if you have something more you can probably come up with some zombie shenanigans, while also playing through a handtrap (wich I don't think the standard Zombie is capable of)

@@bluemoy Looking forward to seeing the new archetype you are working on. Seeing players with good knowledge working on less seen archetypes is always interesting to watch, always felt there's potential in Libromancer with the free bodies they can provide for example.
Yes I see exactly what you mean, I had a quick test with a similar list to your profile + zombie package and it just doesn't do enough, even when you can get to the package it is probably not the right choice the only interesting interaction was pitching glow-up bloom through adventure and even then it was greedy adding glow up bloom to the list.
I am familiar with the immortal dragon lines having played zombie PUNK giving access to ghost fusion however that line got extremely repetitive, but will give it a go in Mayakashi.

Do you have an updated deck profile? I was building the deck and noticed with thrust you can't include 12+ handtraps and thought going for board breakers was better. Playing 9 handtraps with prosperity and thrust is not correct imo and you're usually only opening 1 handtrap which is not enough against most decks and can even punish you if they have crossout/called by or tactics.

Your considerations are true, and that should lead to another topic: is it worth to play this deck in the current format? Of course there is a crazy gap in terms of power level between Mayakashi and anything like Snake Eyes, Voiceless etc.
In this video I’m not answering that question, and the answer for those uncommon decks is usually obvious.
Now, I don’t think this deck fits with the theory of the current format. If you intend to draw 2 handtraps + a way to play and potentially some sort of extenders (wich the deck lacks) you’re demanding too much. However, if you only go with breakers, your boards going 1st will never be supported by non-engine, and also breakers are way less reliable Than ht’s against Snake Eye.
This specific variant can perform better in formats where it’s possible to play through half boards, or where Fenrir/Rite can actually push going 2nd, cause the main engine doesn’t.
With that said, I do have some ideas for further developments, with an even defined gameplan after side! If I see some interest I might release them in the near future

Only thing on the mauler line is you do have to weigh its existence as a brick (and the fact that you have one yuki) with the issue that if they do it correctly, your best revive is Gash as a towers with nothing else off the link3 (as only the synchro 3, 5, 11 are gy bound). I suppose for adventure where you can start higher with Kashtira this may be less of a factor since you'll get nibiru relevant at the summoning of Yoko, but that's still a 3 card combo. In the past I haven't been a fan of it because how often is nib being mained over just getting stopped by anything else but with the omni bans i suppose it gives a bit more of an endboard to work with... just not sure that will be enough to survive the sort of decks we face without the trap also drawn.

Of course the power level of current meta decks is crazy, and our main downside is the fact that we can only interact with things on resolution (never on activation). The purpose of this video was to show that we have sort of in-engine ways to play around or through some of the most impactful handtraps, but definitely Mad Mauler isn’t an ideal card to add cause it only comes up in that scenario and it’s pretty useless outside

How do you get access to the trap?

    • @bluemoy
      @bluemoy  8 месяцев назад +1

You can add it with Mayakashi Return if you already have a way to play, set it with Thrust if you get handtrapped, and in the original list I was also playing Prosperity, wich can act as a starter or can attempt to dig for it

Inoltre, cosa ne pensi di illegal knight come versione budget al posto dei Kashtira?

Non è male, anzi! Forte going 2nd e aiuta a diversificare la board (puoi tenerlo in mano ed evocarlo nella main dell’avversario). Però Unicorn/Birth costano veramente poco, puoi includere entrambi
