I try to test everything extensively. Higher level mining drills get slightly more gel but only slightly. Ill be releasing a noglin video soon where I did lots of testing! Anything from Ark you would like to see tested?
@@CamwayGaming supposedly exo meks can pick up just about anything, including the loot drops on gen 2. I only saw a screenshot of it so I don't if it's real or some kind of modded server. It was pretty interesting though
A decent rock drake should be fine. They spawn creatures to fight you and can only be damaged when their shield is down. It has been a while since I fought one.
Yep the mantis gets the most. Been a while since I made these videos one of them talks about that. Only issue with the mantis is the difficulty in skiffing it around makes slightly less efficient but if you don't have a skiff then it is the best.
I glad it helped. There is an update coming out tonight to show the most efficient dino for mutagel farming. Gen 2 has been changing quickly and there have been a lot of questions so I wanted to clear it all up and test everything.
with rescource rate 1.0 i farmed in space with my Stryder around 4k Gel in 15 ingame hours and if iam not wrong you could farm more with a Magmasaur :)
@@CamwayGaming No its a Community Cluster and they wanted IT to take longer so we have Basic resource income and i get Up to 32 Gel with my styder but only one Out of maybe 5-8 Amber Rocks.
@@Saphir2 I re did all my test a few days ago since I am getting a lot of reports that mutagel farming has changed. Ill release a video Saturday or Sunday on my findings. I create a baseline that is consistent so that each dino is equal and given a fair shot.
If a rex fits it can go anywhere you want except flying or swimming for long. You would need a really good rex in the bowles though or a pack of rexes at the very least a mate boost. it gets a little insane a couple gigas might be safer.
Yes Mantis are good you cant do the right click attack on ambergris in space or it would be better. I have a video coming out tomorrow to go over mutagel farming from ambergriss and what works best. Mantis were not tameable when I released that video.
I think its called hidden threat. I have a bunch of music that I bought the rights to for game development that I'm allowed to use in any media as long as I'm not selling the music files. So that's what I use for my background music.
It is in the center of the map the big rectangle between the 2 biomes on gen 2. There are several pathways along the wall that go through and then every square vent in the upper wall that goes through. A lot of times the vents are built in though.
On my cluster I'm getting 1 per hand and 1 per mining drill. The ambergris rocks give way less than what I've seen too. Is this a known server setting issue?
It sounds like the server settings may be low. Below rockwells heart you will get about 1 per by hand but if you have a mining drill of 115% or better you should get more. If rockwell has been defeated recently you can get even more. Ambergris rocks give differing amounts based on dino hitting it. I have a more updated video showing efficiency. Aky -Magma -Golem should get 3-5 per. 400 melee player or mantis with pick should get 4-8 per. Then there is the RNg where you can get a lot at once or none at all. Tek punch seems to be more randomized between 3-12 per. I hope that helps.
@@CamwayGaming it's a 3x server. Idk I've used an apprentice drill on the heart and a non imprinted magma on the rocks. I'm gonna go back down this weekend with an asc drill and raise my magmas. Maybe that'll help. But even my 555% pick and 1500% melee player seemed to get the same amount. It's just nothing compared to what I've seen other players on lesser rates witnessed gear get.
@@liamattley2010 Does the server have the latest patch? In the beginning mutagel was that way it was almost all the same no matter what you did. Even now the difference between each method is only a little bit. Pick% doesn't matter only durability so that you don't have to replace it part way through carry extra on you. With 3x rates though you should definitely be getting more.
@@CamwayGaming it's updated yeah. And I knew pick % doesn't matter but these know it all Sally's claimed it did. Lol. Even mindwiping and upping my melee there was no difference. It even seemed to worsen. Someone on the cluster was bragging about 1.6 mutagel in a cycle. Lol

The space dolphin missions effect harvesting on asteroids. Slip Stream allows resources to come back faster. These 3 combined will increase mutagel farming from ambergris. Then there is the Rockwell boss fight it makes mutagen bulbs spawm faster.
It is a beta so they could be :). I have had no trouble on official pvp servers finding them. They have an 8 hour respawn rate. If you have the buff they should be somewhere in the bowls of Rockwell. You may have to almost touch them to get them to show up. My render distance is set to epic and I can only see them from a few feet away.

Yes I ran a test in my updated mutagel video. After 45 minutes of trying I couldn't land one single right click hit. If you can manage to get right click to hit it might be decent but its slightly worst than a melee character with a pickaxe or the tek punch if you are jsut left clicking.

Boosted rates man. You don't get that much on official, regardless of MD. You say they aren't boosted, set to 1, but they are boosted, so I would look into that.

Ya and the asteroids are not great for farming it there is just a lot of rocks. It would take one person a long time to clear the entire area. Even then doesn't seem like it would be much but some is better than none.

@@timklafke4712 Mutagen gathering is very slow. Other than the once every 8 hours for mutagen spawns the mutagel under the heart with a good mining drill gives the most by far and is the most efficient way to farm it. Apparently the black pearl asteroid gives gel as well when you gather black pearls. Again asteroids are not great but its better than nothing. I can not confirm this part as of yet as our missions keep getting reset: There is a rumor that defeating rockwell gives you a mutagen/gel buff allowing you to gather more.

Ankys with a skiff one person on anky other driving the skiff can get more than using a mantis as they can clear more. The anky is right behind the mantis on amount gained. Most people also have much higher melee ankys than they do mantis. But if you farming alone then the mantis will be the better route assuming you do not have 1k+ melee ankys. Human with melee and a pick is between a mantis and an anky. Imprint + mate boost + melee = more. Just depends on what a tribe has. Efficiency is the key.
Rates were set to 1 but the anky has 600 melee. Asteroids are not great for mutagel but if the stuff under rockwell's heart is on cd might as well grab the stuff if the asteroid appears.

Had to watch like 10 videos before someone’s mentioned when it’s white drops, that’s when it’s mutagel rocks, now I can actually know when to go there. Ya and if you harvest the meat plant with a chainsaw you get a ton of meat. Our breeders only grow meat now no need to go out and gather it with a giga anymore.

Could you bring a Rex into the area to fight anything that attacks you?

Use a whip it's a lot easier, u can get silk from the plants the grow by the river in the Rockwell garden.
A whip is faster than hand picking them for sure. The mining drill will give you more though.
