So I've tried this and figured that the direwolf will harvest the bodies, still testing other dinos, also a tip, if the ur dino is one shotting them, u need a lower melee until ur new born Paras have a higher starting health, I recommend taming maxed lvl parasaurs and grabbing a direwolf or theri with unleveled melee and testing as u go, once ur melee is too hight and one shots the parasaur, it will not have a chance to harvest em

Instead of the s+ item collector, I really really recommend the s+ hatchery instead. The item collector does not pick up fertile eggs, only sterile. Not only that, but it incubates the eggs until 1%! So, you could just have a bunch parasaurs in range of the hatchery (it has an option to show range, it's pretty big) with a feeding trough and you're all set, you can just pop all the babies in front of an AC, and then harvest them with the chainsaw.
I wish Syntac would get to the point. His instructional videos are about 5 times longer than they need to be. That's fine for basically "vlogging ark life", but 25 minutes for 5 minutes of actual useful information is a real slog.
I like the idea of automation a lot but, if your running 10x harvest and I assume 10x breeding then your harvest amount will be more like 100x official settings. 1% yield is very meh.
I made mine slightly higher and bigger so i could put 2 dimes underneath instead of using those noisy coolers to access the Dimes for food and stuff i just placed a trap door over the top. its alil harder to build but pretty much same as this. thanks for the vid!!
I ran something similar to this, but collected the eggs and basically raised them. It's not much supervision--toss 'em out, check them in 5-20 minutes and dump 30-50 mejoberries in each one, and make sure there's a couple thousand in the trough. Then you do whatever you want for a couple hours, come through with the chainsaw, and clean up (if you have the toilet, take a crap first!)
not ruined, his build is unviable. but the concept is good. Realistically you dont need a structure to make this work, just space and more theris. The main point being you can breed paras instead of doing traditional farming. Good on like orp where space is meta

If you’re having trouble lining up your dinosaur gateway, put fence foundations where your dinosaur gateway should be, it should snap in perfectly (use the same material for the fence foundations btw)
I have an issue with the TEK Paras bugging away after they got hit by the terry... Any Ideas to fix that? Also the terry is not harvesting the dead babys...
3 big issues. 1) need 10X server rate or higher (majority of unofficial will not be that high) otherwise this process is way too slow 2) need a character online in render distance, so unless you have multiple players in your tribe willing to stay within the distance at different times of the day, this becomes useless because most non official have a "kick idle player time" set for this very reason, so you cant have an "alt character" sitting on a bench next to it, it will get kicked. 3) will not work on PvE
Reading some comments above, I understand that you'll be making an updated version of this farm. Currently, it's working for me and my theri is killing the babies as they hatch. However, I am not getting any of the materials from the babies after he kills them. I am wondering if I should use a different dino or if I'm killing the babies too fast or if I should just wait for the updated build for this farm? Thanks in advance! :)
This will not work if this is done in PvE since you cannot harvest from dead baby dinos in PvE. You might be killing them too fast if this was on PvP and if you do not let the babies live for like half a second or so, you'll also get no mats. I would suggest using a weaker melee dino that wont oneshot the babies, use higher level tek paras so their starting hp is higher or just spam more tek paras so that some babies will get to live a bit longer. I've made a few tek para farms before but they were all more of an open pit design. Basically just a huge elevated square with the tek paras dropping their eggs in the pit below. I would like to try out this design though since it's more pleasing to the eye. I might suggest just trying to do a bigger circle though so you can put a lot more paras on one level, which something like Syntac did in one of his videos.
If I can find one more electronic Dino per square 100 miles, I'll be satisfied. I can ride my swimming barry, cross all of the isle and find a combined 4 in the redwoods,swamp, west and east spawns...I think that's everything short of the arctic zone that I haven't gotten near yet. Maybe that's where they all hide, electronics work better in cold and all that
A recommendation: dont do this on pve because you have to claim the babies and wait until they die or kill them by yourself, because you can’t attack enemies neither your dinos, also dont do organic polymer farm on pve because its the same
Solution: get a gatcha to pick up the eggs when your not around. Once your online, claim the egg and kill them your self. The baby’s from the eggs are still a good source of ressources.
Just so I understand the concept, the eggs fall, hatch, and theizi the bottom kills and harvests. Is that correct? Does this work on PVE with unclaimed animals? If it doesn't kill them and they die, will the theizi at the bottom harvest the bodies?
Is better with tek trikes since they dont give meat if you want to do it on official (because the size of it, but can you any other tek dino that dont give meat too) also to make this worth on official it need to be very tall probably is not worth but with x5 rates on small rn maybe is worth if is tall and not using parasaurs. I have been looking for a video on building one of these since I saw Syntac build one in his most recent series. Rather than scroll through and comment on every genius that wants to naysay or nitpick, ill say one, simple thing. Just because this method doesn't get you as much as an active method of materials, does not mean it has no purpose, genius. A) Single player on the Island, means there's no fucking Gachas, and no Element veins or Structures to hit. We fucking know you can just go and do those things, but some of us are not playing the game like you, shocking as it may sound to you, who thinks the universe pirouettes about your ass. B) much like a Gacha farm, this is a passive material gathering system. As in, while you're running around your base, preparing for a tame, breeding dinos, prepping for boss runs, gardening any number of things you do, at your base, where you spend a bulk of your time (if you have tribe mates that like to grind out materials near the base it helps too) this thing is *passively* getting you materials, AND raw prime meat, for kibble. Also, if you don't happen to play with item collection on, in a mod, this method is better than a gacha farm. I don't enable item collection in S+ because it feels too much like it breaks the game. This method therefore means you will not need to stand around, gathering up the crystals, unless they changed the base game in some way, you still have to stand around, or occasionally come and collect the crystals before they despawn. TL;DR if you're scoffing at a resource gathering method just because it's not *the* most efficient, you missed the point of passive resource collection.

Nice video dude, but, I have a question and some issue with mine. I followed your steps to build and have a pen on Rag. and a therry set to aggressive, the paras lay their eggs and it works, up untill the eggs hatch and the therry just stands there and doesn't kill/harvest them. Is there a setting on the server side I need to have switched for this to work? We have a gportal server and up until now, everything works fine,(except having frost wyverns, they never have worked). @@sumo1415 The only thing I could find was that we had the server set on PVE and it didn't work, but when I switched it to PVP, the therry killed the hatchlings just after hatching. But, when I went back and switched it back to PVE, the same thing happened, it just stood there. So as far as I can tell, if the server isn't set to PVP, then you have to claim the babies and kill them manually.
My theri set to aggressive just stands there looking at the baby parasaurs at his feet, they all just starve to death. Apparently it doesn’t work on PvE, that might have been good to mention at some point, before grinding for three hours for the materials.

For the Theri, do I level delicate harvesting or power harvesting? I already have a mutton farm, so I don't really need the prime meat or hide as much as i need the electronics and element dust.
@@martina9569 I don't think this strategy works on singleplayer settings. Change your singleplayer games settings uncheck singleplayer on the 1st page near bottom of menu settings. I don't remember if it is pvp or pve that you need to change your settings to, for this to work.

A theri doesn't harvest the bodies, first the melee can't be too high and second, the theri will only harvest the bodies whilst attacking the next generation
So I’m having an issue with none of my creatures attacking the hatchlings. They are on true aggressive but just stand there. Is it a setting for my server or what?
Make sure PVE mode is unchecked in your general settings. The problem lies in how the game handles wild (random spawns) vs. unclaimed (hatched/gestated) dinos. If PVE mode is on, your hatchlings will be treated the same as tamed dinos and no tamed creature will automatically attack them, even on aggressive. When you turn PVE mode off, they're registered as enemy dinos and your aggressive tames should attack them.
But even if you had PvE On, you're gonna run into an other PvE issue which is not being able to loot unclaimed dino corpses. Idk why WildCard isn't allowing this yet as it's probably an unintentional feature.
next time, try and clarify in the title that it's 10x rates literally 70% of the ark community plays on 1-2x rates. that would maybe get you 20 a day on 1x
@@kottonzartist7870 My guess is since the space is so limited, all the eggs are stuck together. When the Theri tried to attack the newborn it incidentally harvest the bodies killed before.
@@willxu4543 i dunno man i opened the door when all eggs had dropped and they were spaced apart well and the theri killed them all as i saw damage numbers and kill confirmation at the top but no resources upon looking in inventory :/ tek raptor works but not great, mantis too but now testing the mantis with a pick eqquiped to see if thats any better if not someone on reddit said to use sabers? I am more than likely just going to rent extinction so i can farm dust for abb with doedi and argy :)

I built it for my tribe and we’re not struggling with like having to go to ascension and Farm elementary more my tribe members are literally we basically were playing on a 5X and it was a little boost it but yeah at least you’re a lot more done and we did it all the way to max height

The wolf will then harvest the corpse.

also works for penguins for polymer, kind works better since theyre smaller and you cant fit like twice as many on one layer XD

It works only on PvP Servers. On PvE tamed Dinos will not atack unclaimed babys.

For the Theri, do I level delicate harvesting or power harvesting? I already have a mutton farm, so I don't really need the prime meat or hide as much as i need the electronics and element dust.

@@martina9569 I don't think this strategy works on singleplayer settings. Change your singleplayer games settings uncheck singleplayer on the 1st page near bottom of menu settings. I don't remember if it is pvp or pve that you need to change your settings to, for this to work.

Okay so I built this and it works fine and all, but when the theri kills the babies, he doesn’t harvest their bodies, any thoughts on why he doesn’t? Is there a setting on him I have to put it on?
Mine won't even kill them. I'm on aggressive. I'm set to harvest the bodies but nothing is working.

A theri doesn't harvest the bodies, first the melee can't be too high and second, the theri will only harvest the bodies whilst attacking the next generation

So I’m having an issue with none of my creatures attacking the hatchlings. They are on true aggressive but just stand there. Is it a setting for my server or what?

Make sure PVE mode is unchecked in your general settings. The problem lies in how the game handles wild (random spawns) vs. unclaimed (hatched/gestated) dinos. If PVE mode is on, your hatchlings will be treated the same as tamed dinos and no tamed creature will automatically attack them, even on aggressive. When you turn PVE mode off, they're registered as enemy dinos and your aggressive tames should attack them.
How does theri harvest? He never explained the most important part. Does it kill the baby when they hatch? Or does it harvest the dead bodies?

Not work on PVE server they are red and not claimed dino didnt attack them , if I try to hit them no damage !!!!
That's called friendly fire, it's possible to have this setting on in PvE depending on your server's settings
But even if you had PvE On, you're gonna run into an other PvE issue which is not being able to loot unclaimed dino corpses. Idk why WildCard isn't allowing this yet as it's probably an unintentional feature.
You could just stack the Parasaur platforms and have like 10 layers for 10x production
next time, try and clarify in the title that it's 10x rates
literally 70% of the ark community plays on 1-2x rates. that would maybe get you 20 a day on 1x

@@kottonzartist7870 My guess is since the space is so limited, all the eggs are stuck together. When the Theri tried to attack the newborn it incidentally harvest the bodies killed before.
@@willxu4543 i dunno man i opened the door when all eggs had dropped and they were spaced apart well and the theri killed them all as i saw damage numbers and kill confirmation at the top but no resources upon looking in inventory :/ tek raptor works but not great, mantis too but now testing the mantis with a pick eqquiped to see if thats any better if not someone on reddit said to use sabers? I am more than likely just going to rent extinction so i can farm dust for abb with doedi and argy :)

I built it for my tribe and we’re not struggling with like having to go to ascension and Farm elementary more my tribe members are literally we basically were playing on a 5X and it was a little boost it but yeah at least you’re a lot more done and we did it all the way to max height
