Extremely good video very great detail. You just saved me a significant amount of money and time calling up an appliance repair tech.
I noticed that the visible blue parts of this valve on the back of the LG fridge (inherited from original condo owner) was roughed-up somehow/not in the best of shape-spraying water in the enclosure everytime I got a drink of water from the door dispenser … that assembly /valve is under a lot of pressure which makes perfect sense-as such, over time & years of use it will fail.
So many satisfying, easy fixes in a new-to-me condo, thanks to RUclips vids like this! Buying the part & installing it myself it was a snap, saves the technicians for more intense repairs.

Very informative video. After connecting water line, our fridge was leaking around this area. This video allowed me to take the inlet valve off and inspect it closer. No cracks. The line leading up the refrigerator was not seated correctly. Re-seated the line and inserted the bracket and leak is gone! Thank you!

You can test the water inlet valve if it has continuity by pulling the plastic tube that goes up the back of the refrigerator removing the two screws and hitting the reset button on the bottom of the ice maker behind the switch and under the plastic arm at the bottom. Press it only one time and you will hear a beep. if water comes up the plastic line then the valve is good. Then while you have the white plastic tube out get a hairdryer and blow it into the hole where the white tube goes in to feed the ice maker as sometimes ice will form blocking the water from going into the tray. usually, if the hole is blocked the drain tube at the bottom of the refrigerator next to the valve will dispense the water because of the blockage You can also use the hair dryer on the inside of the refrigerator where the water comes out into the tray to melt any ice blockage. These were exactly the steps I took that fix my ice maker, it was ice blockage probably where we had it off for a week while on vacation.

Thus helps out a lot. Looked behind my fridge to see where the waters leaking from only to find this valve was dripping profusely. Always nice to watch the job get done right before I go ahead and dick up my appliances!

Is there a water adjustment for ice maker? Mine seems to be over filling and not popping all the ice causing it to fault out.

Was the cold water still working and no ice making on this refrigerator? Or was there no cold water nor ice. My LG gives cold water but not making any ice. When I removed the ice maker from the refrigerator, I had to reset the refrigerator on the door, but 1 day after reinstalling the ice maker, I had ice, but only for 2 days.

Do you have a video on how to replace the water valve in the freezer's ice maker?

@@KrippledKracka I ended up just replacing the entire ice maker.. was prob more expensive than just changing the valve but it was also probably a lot easier and it did work.

Can I connect copper ice maker line and brass compression fitter to that water inlet? Is it compatible?

We have LG LRMDC2306S. During first month we’ve had 4 service visits for craft ice maker not working. Each service call reveals the water feed line to the ice maker is frozen solid although the freezer temp is set at +4F. We added two thermometers into the freezer that log temp and they both show 4F so temp sensor is good. Does the craft ice maker line have a heater/defrost? Latest tech wants to switch out water feed line but by this point we have zero confidence LG know how to build a fridge.

Great video, So I think I have the same issues but would like to make sure it is. Once & awhile, I will hear big vibration noise from the back of my LG fridge (similar to above). If I pull the plug to the fridge, it still makes the big vibrating noise. I had push the fridge away from the wall, and open the doors and it still continues. If I shut off the water that goes into the fridge the noise stops. If I turn water back on, the noise continues, and when I dispense water and also open faucets it will eventually stop. I noticed I have been getting less ice as well. Do I need a inlet valve replace based on what is mentioned? Please let me know...thank you

Hi, nice video! I have a persistent dribble (i.e. I'll come down in the morning and there will be a splash of water in the tray) from the LG water dispenser. I've had a competent repair guy look at it twice. He thought there was air in the line. Can't find any other common cause but no mater what he fiddles with the dibble persists. He has not replaced the inlet value. In your experience, do you think this could be the problematic part?
