The first time I heard this song, I thought the whole song was beautiful, as usual. But that note was such a surprise, especially when he purposely "falls off" of it. (I don't know the musical term.) It felt like that note kinda reached down & hooked me from somewhere up in the atmosphere, & left me hanging from the crescent moon, suspended. Even now, when I know what's coming, I still feel like I'm hanging from the moon, which all things considered, is not a bad place to hang out, so to speak. Thanks for the reaction!

Yeah, the drums are crazy good in this one. Some of the fills I just have to go back and listen to over and over. :)
Btw, Henrik Linder plays the bass, not the guitar (well, technically the bass is a bass guitar, but it's played somewhat differently to a guitar, is tuned much lower, and is rarely referred to as anything other than a bass).

I never noticed the similarities in him and The Weeknd until you said it. Once the chorus hit, I totally heard it. That's wild.

This song could be a 007 movie opening song. The bridge about getting caught in the universe, the chords are gorgeous.

These guys met at a music shool in Stockholm Sweden where Jonah (piano/keys) had classic direction while Aron (drums) and Henrik (bass) had jazz/improvisation. They began uploading videos here on YT some 10+ years ago where they had re-arranged older.songs from the '80s and contemporary ones. Needless to say they went super viral and more or less got everyone in the biz attention from Quincy Jones to David Foster. Then the latter one kinda took them under his wings as his protégés. After some very intense years they decided to take a break and came back with new orginal songs/videos in 2020. Nowadays they belong to Quincy Jones Productions. Check out Next to You or Work Shit Out or Thriller! Jonah's main influence as a singer is Stevie Wonder i say but you can also hear some MJ vibes!

For me it's more Stevie Wonder sung Michael Jackson style.

Great reaction, thanks Jen 👍🙏👍 will definitely go and check out The Weekend.
Yeah, Henrik on bass is wild, still so subdued in this song (and he just plays it like a guitar whenever it’s required, he’s amazing), Aron as well so tasty on the drums, so good. And then Jonah! For me it’s the emotions he puts into his voice, and how he builds his lines…goosebumps every time….
Hey, have you done their songs “World on Fire” and “Follow the Light”?
Also their earlier covers and originals from their LP Loopified, I think you’d enjoy them all. “Hit Me” is 🔥
Jonah’s done some solo projects without Aron and Henrik’s, and they’re dope too. Check out “Coffee Break” and his cover of MJ’s “Bad”.
    Enjoy! ☺️👍

HUGE Dirty Loops fan, but if you're in the mood for something completely different, but also w/ an extraordinarily high level of musicianship.... check out VoicePlay. Most recent drop is a cover of Aerosmith's Dream On - amazing arrangement. A cappella artists....... variety of performances, from Disney medleys to EPIC songs, to ... well, you name it. Scan their list and find something you like. Not a bad performance out there (though the recent ones are consistently more jaw-dropping.) They do it all, no label or management team to block you, they support reactors. If you like bass singers, VoicePlay's bass is Geoff Castellucci, and he also has a personal channel that's a knock out. He routinely drops F1s and G1s like they were nothing, so yeah, earbuds required if you want your ribs rattled.)

If you cloned Michael Jackson with Stevie Wonder, and then added a couple of octaves range.
