I'm a 64 year old keyboard player and I've been following Dirty Loops for about 9 years. Before they came along, music wasn't very exciting to me any more. I have since been re-invigorated! I love how they blend their virtuosity into passionate, masterful arrangements. With Dirty Loops (and Jacob Collier, too), the future of music is in good hands!
I have been listening to music since the 70s, and throughout all the time there has been amazing new music coming out. With Spotify, RUclips and other platforms, the accessability to good music has never been better. I have gradually created a 300+ track playlist on Spotify more or less only with music I have never heard before, but have been suggested by Spotify. And the list is just dope. The futre of music is in many good hands.
As a drummer from NYC for over 45 years ..........I have to say I was blown away as well..........3 guys that sound like an Orchestra........REALLY ....WOW BOOM!!!!!!......very super nice***** I'm IN.
Dirty Loops does not have a single bad track. None. All of their stuff is incredible. The only other group I think compares, which I also love, is Snarky Puppy.
Thanks for that great reaction. You have been loopified :-). These guys are incredible. You will love everything from them. Oh, and Quincy Jones is their manager since a couple of years. He once said, that he never heard a greater vocal range than Jonah has.
So funny that you listened to this as your first song, because it's quite slow and sad compared to their others that are usually bursting with high energy! Not that I mind, I fell in love with this the first time I heard it yesterday. 😄💖 They started out recording some fantastic covers, that you can see on their RUclips channel, but their own songs are bloody brilliant! Work Shit Out and Next to You are just stunning. 😁
Dirty Loops is an amazing band. Jonah Nilsson also has some fantastic solo work. I am obsessed with the Henrik, the bass player. He is the best. I haven't been able to stop listening to them since I found them a couple of months ago. I saw a Berklee Music School cover of some of their songs and loved it, which made me search for Dirty Loops. Don't wait for someone to recommend them... just listen to them, you don't be able to stop!
Dirty Loops is a band from Stockholm, Sweden, made up of Jonah Nilsson (vocals and piano), Henrik Linder (bass) and Aron Mellergård (drums). Their arrangements are advanced stylistically, borrowing from jazz and jazz fusion, gospel, funk, electronica, pop, and disco. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dirty_Loops
Oh man you’re on a journey here brother! Statrting at the end with their latest release. 😅 Seen a lot of reactions of Dirty Loops and I always enjoy when there is analyzing going on in the end, some sharing of thoughts. Good stuff! They just released their new EP Phoenix of which you just did the closing track. Would be awesome if you did more of the songs. Then you got their first album from 2014 and a bunch of covers that brought initial attention to them back in 2010. They grew up together and followed each other through the school years ensling up attended Royal College of Music in Stockholm at the same time. The other students were annoyed by them always booking the rehersal rooms and just staying there for hours and hours. I guess it paid of. 😄
You’ll be amazed at these guys. I have been following to them for years. Seen them live. Any song you react to by these Swedish trio will blow your blown mind. Welcome....I enjoyed your reaction. Gday from down under. 🇦🇺
I’ve only known about them for 6 months or so & now I’m obsessed! I just found you because I was looking for reactions to this song. You gave an amazing reaction to an amazing band on an amazing song. Just subscribed... now do all the Dirty Loops you can find! To start... World On Fire Next To You Rock You Work S**t Out Off to explore your channel...
Adam, I've been posting their stuff to my facebook page for a long time now and I guess because I'm now 77yrs old, a lot of my contemporaries don''t get it. This is without doubt, one of the most talented group of young men I've seen in years of watching and listening to many genres of music. This band answers all the questions for me as to what the industry should be doing to get the younger generation to move forward, away from the mindless repetive stuff being produced today.
I subscribed to your channel when I was searching for Aurora. And your reactions have lead me in to a lot of new music. But this was something very special. Like u I had never heard of this group before. But after watching this video I could not help myself. I searched for more of them Dirty Loops is a boomer and a future legend. And I want to thank you for introducing them to me.
Found out about these guys from a stranger in a bar when we were talking music. Will always remember that. That’s how impactful these guys are. Glad you found them too. Happy to sub bud! Cheers.
An absolutely wonderful reaction. Felt really genuine and then having your thoughtful commentary at the end, wow. This is how a reaction video should be done. I stumbled across Dirty Loops only a couple of months ago. All their stuff is wonderful. The initial song that blew me away is the epic "Next to You". Based on this reaction I would love to see a reaction to "Next to You". They just pull out all the stops and it soars. Great work.
Wow thank you Adam, oh my gosh, they are a musical journey. The best road trip mentally I have ever taken. Your going straight, then you take a right turn, going up a hill then down and whoosh your taking a left, then straight, absolutely beautiful, they are phenomenally amazing. I am a new fan. With out a doubt one of the best musically mental road trips ever. My first time ever hearing them. Thank you again Adam. 👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤💯
These guys met at a music school in Stockholm. Aron and Henrik were studying jazz/improvisation direction while Jonah studied classical direction. They began rearranging contemporary and songs from like the '80s and uploaded it to RUclips. Needless to say it went super viral and more or less caught everyone's attention from Quincy Jones to David Foster! The latter one kinda took them under his wings as his protégés now they belong to Quincy Jones productions!! When they got viral i saw so many musicians singing their praises on Facebook. People were like "these guys restored my faith for the future/music biz.
Bloody hell lad... I'm 32 seconds in at the time of writing this. You have absolutely zero idea what you're in for. No one is going in to any brand new DL release haha I wasn't expecting one of the most beautiful and amazing ballads I'd ever heard, I was expecting what I know them for and that's being super tight and in the pocket funky pop type stuff. I've been a fan of DL for nearly 10 years, I really encourage you to watch all their covers from back in the day. Circus was the first one I came about back in 2011 and I was a 15 year old drummer and lover of jazz fusion and I was blown away by what they did to make a shite pop song sound fuckin insane. Same with JB's "Baby". Might as well make a couple more reaction videos as well because why not :D Now, on to your reaction hahaha Edit: Okay now it's done. Yes brother, WELCOME! :D
I'm so glad you've discovered Dirty Loops! This song is a little bit of a departure for them, most of their stuff is uptempo. I would highly recommend their cover of “Wake Me Up".
I have watched a fair number of reations lately and I really have to express my love with regards to this video. You really made me feel your emotions and the way you talked about the song and the band was so becoming. You got yourself a subscriber.

Started listening to them 9 years ago when they began releasing covers on RUclips, love the groove they have and how they really enjoy playing
Happy Discovery, Adam! Yes, the first time I ever heard/saw Dirty Loops -- like you, on YT -- was a life-changing moment I'll never forget. The song was "Hit Me," which was the first-ever single by a "Western" (versus Eastern/Asian) band to top the Japanese music charts as #1 in over a decade. I highly recommend you check that one out as well. Additionally, there are many tunes by the band, both originals such as "Hit Me" and "Breakdown," as well as incredibly imaginative covers including "Roller Coaster" (Justin Bieber), "Just Dance" (Lady GaGa), "Ta Fête" (Stromae), and much, much more. You won't be disappointed, I assure you. Congrats on being "Loopified"!
Honest, great reaction! We love Dirty Loops! (proud Swede here) Three boys played together in Stockholm in highschool, went on to study together at the Royal Academy of Music. They were discovered by Q in 2012 who sent them on a tour with David Foster to Asia and has produced and managed them ever since! I love the 80s influence in all the instruments and a voice to die for (I hear Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder influence), vocals like Toto used to create! Loved your reaction and analysis.
i think this is the best vocals i've ever heard in my life ! i mean these musicians are all extremely brilliant and their concept is really really fresh ! i LOVE it so much !!
Who ever suggested this thanks, love his voice and song hope you will do more reactions to them, so much talent to be discovered 💯brill reaction as always 💯👏👌👍
Dirty Loops are just awesome... SOOOO happy that you're reacting to them now Adam !! This is one of their more mellow tracks too - Henrik is one of my favourite bassists on the planet - To me they're like a jazz fusion version of Rush - Can't wait for this journey !
I'm jealous of you to find out about them now! I've known them for several years and I'm a big fan. You have a lot of songs to look forward to. Enjoy the ride. 💯👌
After listening to them for some time now already I was able to see them performing live last week in Utrecht and in case you love what these guys do in their studio recordings, you will just be blown away by their live act - there is even so much more LIVE in it than!! I was blown away and just can't get them out of my head!!
yours is the ONLY reaction to Dirty Loops LOVE that you didn't STOP the music numerous times for ego-driven comments , reactions, and idiotic descriptions. I'm afraid I commented on various sites in a very negative fashion but the disrespect for the music had me frothing. I SO appreciate your honest reactions that aren't too analytical. After all, that's for afterward, right? Glad you just react viscerally and don't feel the need to interject your ego. Thank you so much for respecting the continuity and build of the music. ALL these other guys just ravage that part of it. Had me wondering if there was a feeling person in the lot. Bunch of head cases Anyway, glad you let it ride and let it show on your your face and body. and by the way everyone, a lot of this gorgeous music is very, very much a tribute to the Lyle Mays/Pat Metheny group. These Harmonic builds and dynamics are signatures of the Metheny/Mays compositions. Thanks again, I'll be back.
I was totally impressed by your interpretation of a beautiful song ! I can tell you have good ears I salute you and Dirty Loops a simply incredible 3 piece band. All songs they do are masterfully done. LISTEN FOR THRILLER , world on fire 🔥 , Work shit out , sooo many songs
Mr. Straughan, like you, I just came across Dirty Loops today (1/2/21) while searching for music to add to my iPOD playlists. This group is other-worldly, superhumanly (pardon the made-up word) talented. I simply cannot call to mind any words to describe their incredible talent. As a keyboardist and vocalist myself, I fully appreciate their musical acrobatics. They are worthy of every possible music award! I do apologize to you in advance, however, for my next comment. Listening to them play as I watched your handsome face, heartfelt expressions, and listening to your subtle moans and groans at certain points in the song were unintentionally titillating. Your video made my Sunday afternoon like a refreshing walk through the forest during a spring rain. Thank you.
Dirty Loops brought me here.. its really fun to watch reactions like these.. especially when the listen has never heard of Dirty Loops. you are heading towards an amazing journey.. haha
Good reaction from you and good comments. Waiting to hear a reaction from you on Work Shit Out", "Rock you” and ”Next to you”. And then the rest of them all. ;-)
They do use a horn and string section filled in by the synth. This is likely a "live in the studio" video which doesn't show the additional musicians. Jonah does ALL the additional vocals. You have just scratched the surface of this incredible trio's body of work. Enjoy the journey. You will not be disappointed.
As a bass player, I started following Henrik a few years back. He's totally awesome on his own. But with these guys, they all provide more awesome to each other. Every time I think that's the best they can possibly be, they do a new track, which is somehow even better than the last. Just crazy good!!
One thing that strikes me is that all three of them are so well compatible with each other. Henrik excellently fills the gap of a missing guitarist with his bass. That drummer has some serious fills every now and then. And finally, the vocalist has crazy energetic vocals. His keyboard is also good
Adam, this song is beautiful on a legendary scale, but the virtuosity of these three REALLY comes out on "Work Shit Out." All three assumed first place on my "favorite [........]" list. Besides Jonah's vocals, his keyboard work on "WSO" is totally off the hook!
I have been following Dirty Loops since 2019. A drummer friend of mine sent me a link to the song Rock You and I was absolutely blown away by the consummate talent of this band! Loved your take on this song and agree wholeheartedly! I’m subscribed now, so I’m looking forward to your new reviews!❤
Ah ...congratulations young explorer, you've stumbled on some incredible talent if you take a few moments to listen to other selections by this power trio you be among the very best of fusion jazz of today. Ck out who's producing this lol kindest regards
A little late to the party here, but I bet you've listened to these magical musicians since. This 72 year old is completely on board this musical freight train! Wow! Just Wow!
Well I'm here a year later, I'm just learning if this group last week and wondered if you'd peak when I did first hearing it. Lol! YES. It was funny watching you but you staid still during a few of the chords that made me lay my head back. This was cool
The only guy I've heard in the last decade on par with Jonah in terms of sheer vocal ability combined with keyboard virtuosity is Valeriy Stepanov out of Russia. He's another genius who can sing like MJ and play like Keith Emerson on steroids.
These guys all contribute so much to the overall sound. However, nobody walks on anybody. They're all so great at their instruments. It takes that level of expertise to put together a total sound while still being individually so next level!
I really enjoy your video analysis. You are honest and enthusiastic and really relate the feelings that I feel think that most people feel when they listen to music like this. Awe, Joy, and admiration. I have been part of a trio for 40 years. I understand what it's like to need to like your fellow players and to trust them. If you watch, or react to, which I would love, world on fire, rock you, and next to you, I think you will be blown away by the band chemistry. That's what I am most impressed with. Big shout out to these three guys. Over 40 years we never developed that level of skill! My jaw is on the floor every time. Keep up the good work. You are one of the more enjoyable people that do what you're doing. Thank you
Evening Adam. I've had great the great joy of being in the music industry for most of my adult life. At Woodstock, Fillmore East, Fillmore West in the studio creating music with friends, hanging out at Finding the Big Sur Folk Festival at Esalen Institute in Big Sur California in 1971. I'm in the usa in New Mexico where i call home for the last many years. It is a mainificent place to live and i fell truly blessed to be here. Truly Adam, Dirty Loops music is enough to pull people together from all over the planet! C'est Vrai! So i was born in paris and ii is very natural for me to just break into French frequently. Enough of me. please be in touch so we can talk music and so many elements of making new friends. I believe this is a great venue to meet people! david
Incredible band! The bombastic jazzy/gospel sound is thanks to additional brass and strings (not shown), arranged by the drummer, Aaron. Illegally talented trio.
I listen to only three artists: Dimah Kudaibergen, Hua Chenyu and Dirty Loops. Keep reacting to the band - they're absolutely amazing and in my opinion 'Breakdown' wasn't even their best song :) Check out their 'Work shit out' - the bass player is really going crazy there ;) Still waiting for you to discover Hua Chenyu as well!
I've known about Dirty Loops ever since their first album officially dropped. BUT!!!!! It's that moment where you are listening to this song and you close your eyes... that is the ultimate musical goal. Shut that world off, listen to me and me only. Check out their debut offering. Also keep in mind that they are under the prolific Quincy Jones!!!
More sounds to explore. Music is definitely in good hands just from new generation : Jacob Colier, Cory Henry, Vulfpeck, Domi Degale, Rai Thistlewasthe, Joey Dosik, Anomalie, enjoy ... and in classic Alma Deutscher. Good to be alive.
Hello Adam.. Please listen and react to "Dirty Loops" and theirs melodi "World On Fire"..! This band, Dirty Loops, are from Sweden and so am I..! Regards /Ronnie Lundström
I like your comment about band size. Eurythmics was two people, Rush was three, another new favorite of mine is The Cold Stares which is two musicians.
They have a long list of amazing songs. They startet out making firework covers of Justin Bieber's Hit Me and other know pop tunes. Now they make their own stuff, like Work Shit Out Next To You Coffie Break Is Over. They are not so much into ballade like this, but what ever they make is a blast.
Same here. 👍
Dude man you I'm exactly the same here (54 years old)! You took the words right out of my mouth! Wish I could have been on this journey with you :-)
I'm 70 and in awe of this I've followed the fusion jazz johndra for 50 years this at the top kindest regards
I have been listening to music since the 70s, and throughout all the time there has been amazing new music coming out. Same here. 60yrs old. I was losing faith in most contemporary music until these guys came along. Gives you hope for the future 😊
As a drummer from NYC for over 45 years ..........I have to say I was blown away as well..........3 guys that sound like an Orchestra........REALLY ....WOW BOOM!!!!!!......very super nice***** I'm IN.
Welcome to the most "in love" fan base you can find. You've found beauty. BTW, great, honest reaction. It felt like that
Dirty Loops does not have a single bad track. None. All of their stuff is incredible. The only other group I think compares, which I also love, is Snarky Puppy.
So we have the same music taste. I absolutely love Snarky Puppy as well.
Amen!
I'd absolutely LOVE a Snarky Puppy / Dirty Loops collaboration!!
I just became aware of Dirty Loops yesterday and have listened to nothing else since then. These guys are amazing.
Thanks for that great reaction. You have been loopified :-). These guys are incredible. You will love everything from them. Oh, and Quincy Jones is their manager since a couple of years. He once said, that he never heard a greater vocal range than Jonah has.

Dirty Loops is an amazing band. Jonah Nilsson also has some fantastic solo work. I am obsessed with the Henrik, the bass player. He is the best. Thank you.
please, react to "hit me - dirty loops" it is crazy!!
Yes, that was my first listen to them. And it was a WOOOOT??!! to me.
Ta Fete is one of my absolute favs from that periode.
Been listening to these guys for about 3 months, absolutely stunning.
Dirty Loops brought me here.. its really fun to watch reactions like these.. especially when the listen has never heard of Dirty Loops. you are heading towards an amazing journey.. haha
3 people, one set of drums, one bass guitar and keyboards and superb vocals. What more could you ask for? Dirty Loops is fantastic!
That's the kind of voice to expect when signed by Quincy Jones and Quincy calls it one of the best vocal ranges he's ever heard.
Please make more reactions to Dirty Loops: Next to You, Rock You and Work Shit Out.
Amazing fantastic musicians all three of them. Incredibly talented, creative, entertaining! 💖
My 1st time an will follow him. Thanks brother. For sharing. Much love an kindness ❤🌈🥰
Thank you!
Dirty Loops is off the charts ! Another league !! One of the Best bands nowadays. Hands down.
Wow! Just Wow!
They went to The royal music academy in Stockholm. Scandinavias best music school.
Wow just Reading some of ur comments.. wonderful that alot of people over 60 is in here... music is for everyone ❤️👍
Oh my, you have a great ride ahead of you! Dirty Loops are stellar players, enjoy!
Always nice to see someone see/hear Dirty Loops for the first time !
Pls. check out "Work Sh*t Out" !
Well I'm here a year later, I'm just learning if this group last week and wondered if you'd peak when I did first hearing it. Lol! YES. It was funny watching you but you staid still during a few of the chords that made me lay my head back. This was cool
Love your reaction, Adam. My third time seeing this now.
Never heard of them before either ,it was quite pleasant and interesting to listen too, very smooth
Same here... 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
They are so highly educated its sick. Best musicians there is together with snarky puppy.
Best reaction I've seen on youtube about dirty loops!
Really looking forward to you reacting to "Next To You" by these guys. Hint Hint :-)
The only guy I've heard in the last decade on par with Jonah in terms of sheer vocal ability combined with keyboard virtuosity is Valeriy Stepanov out of Russia. He's another genius who can sing like MJ and play like Keith Emerson on steroids.
Mint reaction! Good to hear a Northern accent 😉👍
Thanks man!
Thank you
just wow what an amazing performance
Yep my first 2 will there great musicians I'm going to have to check more of them
Evening Adam.
I believe this is a great venue to meet people! david
Adam, if you've not heard Jonas ballade, it's beautiful
Incredible band! The bombastic jazzy/gospel sound is thanks to additional brass and strings (not shown), arranged by the drummer, Aaron. Illegally talented trio.
Great reaction!
Try reacting to a Filipino girl group ‘BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER’ (SO HYANG VERSION) | 4TH IMPACT COVER Please, Thanks.

Absolutely amazing voice it's like Michael Jackson is channelling his voice through him incredible
Regards
/Ronnie Lundström
They have a lot of humour.
Check out their micing in the start and their credits in the end!
do "hit me" or "work sh*t out" !
I like your comment about band size. Eurythmics was two people, Rush was three, another new favorite of mine is The Cold Stares which is two musicians.
Yesssssss!!!! You did it!!!!!!
They have a long list of amazing songs.
They startet out making firework covers of Justin Bieber's Hit Me and other know pop tunes. Now they make their own stuff, like
Work Shit Out
Next To You
Coffie Break Is Over.
They are not so much into ballade like this, but what ever they make is a blast.
Wow, now you have something to listen, I don't know where you have been if you have missed Dirty Loops!
