For anyone else coming here before tackling this. I just did my 12 4wd. Front diff is in the way. I have a lift and fought it for a few but theres very little room with the Diff in there. A hint is to take the Nipple fitting off before you put it in. Get ready to cuss a lot.
Thanks for the video. Did you go for a reman or a new rack? If so, what brand did you get and where did you get it from? My 06 QX56 is also leaking, but seems to work just fine. However with the 35" tires, it's likely getting a work out combined with the long haul off road stuff I do with it.
I went for a brand new rack from Detroit Axle, I've had good luck with them in the past. Got this one from ebay but also available on Amazon. Mine also still worked ok but the fluid leak was getting egregious.

The maxpeeding rods turbo has been great! Zero issues still, I've been running 11psi low and 15psi high. Other that hitting fuel cut in high boost sometimes it's been great.
Like how you showed the easy & best way to take it out
Luckily the front differential was uninstalled and sitting on the bed when I got the truck 😅

Quick question. After you were done, did you take the truck in for front end alignment? Or were you able to eyeball it close enough ?
I managed to get it pretty close, it drives straight and the steering wheel is centered but an alignment on a proper rack is always best.

It’s actually a 4wd but the front diff was in the bed when I bought it 😅 been waiting to get this out of the way to put it back on
