  • I know what you're thinking, you're probably reading the title thinking it's either clickbait, or I'm actually crazy, but I assure you I believe it is definitely possible, you may also be thinking this is the most far fetched theory I have ever done, but that simply is not the case. In this video I will tell you exactly why I think the kiddie ride company zamperla can become a giant in the coaster industry, and why out of all the companies they are showing similarities to the legend intamin...

    PNE Playland's coaster actually is an old Intamin being relocated. Zamperla is just replacing the mechanics such as the launch, breaks, and trains.

    The ride in Vancouver was an intamin roller coaster. Zamperla is refurbashing the trask with their own LSM launch and new trains. The track layout is Intamin which is why it looks like an Intamin

    Actually zamperla will be more a go-to for smaller parks. They will and can't compete with companies like mack, gerstlauer, vekoma or Intamin at LSM coasters. The Italian is lacking in experience. So they need time and projects to show what they are capable of.

    3 years ago Zamperla publicly said that they were on a new mission to make the worlds best coasters.. they developed the lightning trains (and base model lightning coasters), they hired expert engineers from other big name companies, and they have a new track building faciilty with top of the line equipment. The old trains will not be used on TTD.. only three trains remain anyway.

    I really feel that zamperla and Funspot will form a good partnership. The double heart model is something that would really work at their parks and flats are the lifeblood of funspot. Plus zamperla is affordable for fun spot's pockets.

    I think that Zamperla making its pitch about lower operating costs and ease of maintenance is a smart move, especially given the impact that covid had on the industry. I know theyre not the only ones who are trying to do trains more like this, but theirs does seem to be very competitive. It will be interesting to see who bites first on an all-new lightning coaster (as opposed to the current two which are both Intamin refurbished rides). If they are more competitive on pricing than one of the current top tier manufacturers, i think there might be a lot of interest from small to mid size parks. As an aside, im not sure why premier rides hasnt done this i.e. developed a better train. They're less expensive than the top tier manufacturers, and have a ton of experience with launch coasters, but most people seem to hate their trains. They could have gotten all of the interest that Zamperla is now getting, but as far as ive seen, theyre continuing to only offer the same rides and crappy trains

    Intamin wasn’t today’s Intamin until they built Superman Ride of Steel, then really knocked it out of the park with Superman at SFNE. Zamperla hasn’t even designed or built their own major custom coaster yet. Thunderbolt at Coney Island is a cool small ride, though, even if kinda rough.

    My #1 overall is a Zamperla, being Rollin' Thunder at OWA. I'd like to mention the restraints are actually not what they look like, but they do restrict airtime, which I didn't mind much on my very first ride on it, in the back, where theres ejector over that 114.8 foot lift, but the hills towards the end, and that hangtime are missed.

    I think MACK has quietly & slowly made their way to the elite tier over the last few years, with coasters like Ride to Happiness, Project Exodus, & Beyond the Clouds.
    In my opinion, Zamperal doesn't have a single coaster that's even mid tier, let alone elite. To be honest, I haven't been on a Zamperal coaster that I thoroughly enjoy, they are all pretty meh at best. Don't get me wrong, they are definitely trying to improve, but they have a very long way to go before I would even consider them a mid tier manufacturer.

    • @TheCoasterJosh
      @TheCoasterJosh  Год назад +2

      Oh Mack is totally awesome! as of now zamperla isn’t even a mid tier manufacturer. I do think it will take some time that’s why my time frame in the video was a decade. They are steadily gaining traction tho with a new lighting overseas and the playland refurb among others.

    • @LittlePotatoRoll
      @LittlePotatoRoll Год назад

      @TheCoasterJosh yeah I think if they actually are redoing TTD, it will catapult them into becoming a really good manufacturer or at least it will give them some good notoriety & exposure. The rumor about Zamperla doing anything with dragster is flat out insane! Think about it...... their biggest coaster is less than 150', and they're going to get the nod for a coaster that is over 400'?!?!?!?!?! It's insane on Zamperlas behalf, and even more insane on Cedar Fairs behalf! Come on, man...... I'm sorry, but would you trust a farmer to engineer hyper coaster? That's pretty much what you're saying when you say Zamperla is doing dragster.

    • @Nicky-Plunkett123
      @Nicky-Plunkett123 Год назад +2

      Zamperla knows how to make reliable flat rides and has a good relationship with just about every company so why would parks not trust them to build a big coaster especially if they are offering a cheaper price than other manufacturers it seems like a risk Cedar Fair would be willing to take.

I'm wondering if Zamperlas involvement is the trains?? If that's the case I wouldn't mind at all bc everyone that went to IAAPA has been raving ab those trains. Time will tell🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ FIngers crossed for Intamin to do the actual coaster tho!!!

    • @mattr3922
      @mattr3922 Год назад +2

      @Nicky Plunkett key word in what you said tho is "risk". CP really cannot be taking anymore risks on this coaster. Like at all. It has been issue after issue. Can you imagine if the drop all this money and it goes wrong?? That's what's making me scratch my head about Zamperla is they are essentially saying "here take this MASSIVE liability of ours...and let's see what kind of prototype you can come up with".....it just seems like risks across the board. I'm hoping Zamperlas involvement is the trains.
