Walt would have refurbished Tom Sayers and made it something more special. Reduced height restrictions is becoming more and more common on newer rides due to modern safety equipment. One unexpected recent example is Hyperia at Thorpe Park which opened this year has a height requirement of only 130cm (10cm less than all their other thrill coasters) which is impressive given it's 236ft drop and 81mph top speed that completely blows away anything else at the park.
Imagine the excitement for kids getting to ride these! The interest never matches height requirement and I know every trick in the book to adding that extra boost needed to ride. The kids getting to ride this without doing the tricks that can possibly put you at risk is fantastic. I can't begin to imagine the restraint system being used. There's clearly something more impressive than a simple lapbar happening here.
Why can’t you just like both parks, stop comparing them and just have fun. I don’t know why we have to hate on Disney or universal when the other is making something. Just have fun

@@deniss.6205 yes a bunch of imagineers left Disney World and got hired at Universal a lot of them left in 2000 all the way 2022 a lot left when Chapek wanted to move WDI from Burbank to Orlando. Iger or Josh D’Amaro had to beg Joe Rohde's and Bruce Vaughn to come back However the ride designers are known to go back and forth between the two companies however with Epic Universe taking up so much time not a lot of imagineers are going back to WDI because they are under contract with Universal Creative, hence why it is going to take Disney so long to re-do animal kingdom
There are actual footages of the drone dragons flying testing. So yes, there will be some dragons flying above the land. And the effect is astonishing.

I'm a diehard Wolf Man fan, so while I think the coaster itself is pretty lackluster, I _really_ hope it also doubles as a sort of dark ride with animatronics and world-building, like a tamer Hagrid's.
If Epic Universe doesn't light a fire under Disney's ass, nothing will. Now as far as Epic Universe goes, I'm most excited for Dark Universe. It's something I've been dreaming about for many years.

Heads up, when they say they have a larger seat it's not the seat itself that is larger, but the belt is longer on the restraint. All B&M's (Kumba, Sheikra, Montu) have the same size seats. RMC is the tightest for everyone, I am 6'5 228lbs and that leg holder that is on the lapbar makes it an uncomfortable squeeze. A lot better then when I was 365lbs and didn't fit at all though lol
Hopefully epic universe will be a solid 10/10. Cause rides like Fast and Furious, King Kong, Jimmy Fallon are simply just a waste of time and space! Bring back Jaws, back to the future and terminator!

I think for the model it has the solid metal track due to the model's size and not that it was intended to look like that. But, we do agree that this coaster's lighting is going to be a crucial part of its overall look.
Sucks that there only seems to be one ride in the dk area. I wish the Nintendo areas were bigger, in all universal parks they are all small scale. Hopefully we get Dk in Hollywood too,

The height requirement for the Donkey Kong coaster actually worries me, and not because of the lines. Such a low height requirement suggests that they won't be pushing the concept of 'track jumping' very far or in a very thrilling manner. The concept screams for something truly thrilling, not something on the level of Hersheypark's Trailblazer. Also, the Donkey Kong Country games are HARD with a capital H and not something the average 3-year-old has played, at least not for long. It makes more sense for Yoshi to have a ride geared towards such small children, since Yoshi games are much easier and child-friendly than Donkey Kong games.
They may slow it down a bit for the height aspect, but pushing it that far might just be a benefit of the manufacturer. The test dummies themselves seem very contained by the vehicle and seats design. It could just be that this style of ride doesn't need a taller rider.
I wonder who decided to spend that much money building a theme park right next to a sewage treatment plant? That should smell nice when the breeze is just right.
@@frankorandle we have heard people suggest the bad smell, but we will have to see how it actually is when the park is open. Between barriers, trees and perhaps working with the plant, surely this was thought about beforehand and won’t be an issue upon opening.
The ride systems all look really cool. Just a shame literally nothing is allowed to NOT be themed to this or that existing IP nowadays. Originality in the theme park space is fucking dead and greed-obsessed corpos killed it.
The Hulk does have nets at its launch, but it doesn't go over guests no where near as much as this one does. VelociCoaster didn't initially, but it does now have a barrier on one of the overpass elements.

While Universal Creatives have absolutely shown off that they can be thoughtful in design, it isn’t always highlighted in media or articles. So, we wanted to make the comparison to amplify them and their work.
Because current Disney imageneering is not doing this anymore. Blame Disney not Universal. Universal is now putting a lot of thought to theming and they are also moving quickly compared to Disney. Just look at the Epcot debacle.
The thoughtful design going into EPIC is so impressive.

The height requirement for the Donkey Kong coaster actually worries me, and not because of the lines. Such a low height requirement suggests that they won't be pushing the concept of 'track jumping' very far or in a very thrilling manner. The concept screams for something truly thrilling, not something on the level of Hersheypark's Trailblazer. Also, the Donkey Kong Country games are HARD with a capital H and not something the average 3-year-old has played, at least not for long. It makes more sense for Yoshi to have a ride geared towards such small children, since Yoshi games are much easier and child-friendly than Donkey Kong games.
Wasted concept
They may slow it down a bit for the height aspect, but pushing it that far might just be a benefit of the manufacturer. The test dummies themselves seem very contained by the vehicle and seats design. It could just be that this style of ride doesn't need a taller rider.
I don't think 3 year olds are that tall but ask a stalker of mine, probably much more up to date on those details 🤣🤣🤣

@@frankorandle we have heard people suggest the bad smell, but we will have to see how it actually is when the park is open. Between barriers, trees and perhaps working with the plant, surely this was thought about beforehand and won’t be an issue upon opening.

The ride systems all look really cool. Just a shame literally nothing is allowed to NOT be themed to this or that existing IP nowadays. Originality in the theme park space is fucking dead and greed-obsessed corpos killed it.

Meh, nets are lame. I think it's just decor... They don't have nets in similar areas for hulk or velocicoaster
The Hulk does have nets at its launch, but it doesn't go over guests no where near as much as this one does. VelociCoaster didn't initially, but it does now have a barrier on one of the overpass elements.

While Universal Creatives have absolutely shown off that they can be thoughtful in design, it isn’t always highlighted in media or articles. So, we wanted to make the comparison to amplify them and their work.
Because current Disney imageneering is not doing this anymore. Blame Disney not Universal. Universal is now putting a lot of thought to theming and they are also moving quickly compared to Disney. Just look at the Epcot debacle.
