Drop one in the staging area the minute the first Russian crosses the border, and let Putin know the other one will be arriving in Red Square if the survivors don't turn around.

    For those who ask: “Why does Ukraine matter?"
    This is why Ukraine matters: (and this is why Russia want to exploit Ukraine for Russias own agenda )
    It is the second largest country in Europe by area and has a population of over 43 million persons - more than Poland by about 6 million.
    Ukraine ranks:
    1st in Europe in proven recoverable reserves of uranium ores;
    2nd place in Europe and 10th place in the world in terms of titanium ore reserves;
    2nd place in the world in terms of explored reserves of manganese ores (2.3 billion tons, or 12% of the world's reserves);
    2nd largest iron ore reserves in the world (30 billion tons);
    2nd place in Europe in terms of mercury ore reserves;
    3rd place in Europe (13th place in the world) in shale gas reserves (22 trillion cubic meters)
    4th in the world by the total value of natural resources;
    7th place in the world in coal reserves (33.9 billion tons)
    Ukraine is an important agricultural country:
    1st in Europe in terms of arable land area;
    3rd place in the world by the area of black soil (25% of world's volume);
    1st place in the world in exports of sunflower and sunflower oil;
    2nd place in the world in barley production and 4th place in barley exports;
    3rd largest producer and 4th largest exporter of corn in the world;
    4th largest producer of potatoes in the world;
    5th largest rye producer in the world;
    5th place in the world in bee production (75,000 tons);
    8th place in the world in wheat exports;
    9th place in the world in the production of chicken eggs;
    16th place in the world in cheese exports.
    Ukraine can meet the food needs of 600 million people that all of Europe 2 time .
    Ukraine is an important industrialized country:
    1st in Europe in ammonia production;
    Europe's 2nd’s and the world’s 4th largest natural gas pipeline system;
    3rd largest in Europe and 8th largest in the world in terms of installed capacity of nuclear power plants;
    3rd place in Europe and 11th in the world in terms of rail network length (21,700 km);
    3rd place in the world (after the U.S. and France) in production of locators and locating equipment;
    3rd largest iron exporter in the world
    4th largest exporter of turbines for nuclear power plants in the world;
    4th world's largest manufacturer of rocket launchers;
    4th place in the world in clay exports
    4th place in the world in titanium exports
    8th place in the world in exports of ores and concentrates;
    9th place in the world in exports of defense industry products;
    10th largest steel producer in the world (32.4 million tons).
    Ukraine matters!! AND THIS IS WHY Ukraine's independence is important to the rest of the world!!!.
    Russian only invaded after it was proved by geologist that Ukraine in fact has the 3rd largest gas fracking reserves this was something they only found out about in 2013 ..(Russia and Putin was afraid if a EU / US friendly government came to power in Kiev the EU and USA will move in start gas production and the EU will start buying its gas from Ukraine and not Russia )
    Ukraine has Europe's 3rd largest shale gas reserves at 42 trillion cubic ...Russia’s silent shale gas victory in Ukraine The vast shale gas reserves in the separatist-held Ukrainian regions of Donetsk and Lugansk regions are an important element not to be overlooked when analyzing the Ukraine crisis.
    Ukraine loses 80% of oil and gas deposits in Black Sea due to annexation of Crimea and that is what Putin wants to make sure never happens becouse since 1991 he and his oligarch buddies have been tapping into those resources for themselves stealing the profits from the Ukrainian ppl.

      I was hoping when Russia withdrew from the north they would mount a small offensive to take Kherson (only Russia territory west of the main river, Russia has set the bridge to blow on their retreat), Mariupol and west towards Crimea and take out the bridge to Crimea (force Russia to resupply Crimea by ship and air), or around Kharkiv (northeast corner of territory Russia is targeting to take). Any of these would have decreased the front Ukraine has to defend.

      I also agree too, the Ukrainians need to keep up the guerrilla-warfare tactics against the Russians, they need to keep attacking the Russians when least expected, like Sun Tzu says in his book, The Art Of War, also, another good tactic is to get the enemy to do your fighting for you, so that they keep being exhausted and demoralized, while the Ukrainian soldiers are able to rest and keep up their will to fight, and then once the Russians are at their weakest, they can be easily crushed and defeated, I totally "get" all that now having read Sun Tzu's book.

    Yes, the Russians have an advantage in open-field tanks and artillery, but the Ukrainians also have advantages. First, they'll have MUCH shorter interior lines of supply, communication and movement, and will be able to move units and supplies much more quickly in response to changing battlefield conditions.
    Second, the Ukrainians are now adding to their arsenal not only the usual NLAWs, Stingers, Javelins and drones, but S-300 long-range air defense systems, APCs, Harpoon anti-ship missiles and T-72 tanks.
    Third, many of the 'reinforcements' being sent to Donbas are the same soldiers who just had their a$$es handed to them in the Battle of Kyiv, and there's NO WAY they've had sufficient time to recover their supplies, morale or combat readiness. And, just as they did in the north, they'll be facing very highly motivated Ukrainians who are defending their home turf.
    Putin's obviously rushing these troops into battle to try to achieve some sort of 'victory' in Donbas so he can crow about it at the May 9 Victory Day parade. But his reckless miscalculations are going to cost his troops dearly, as they did in the north. And that would make my day! Slava Ukraini!

      @@1SCme Well, if you learn from battle progress few weeks back, you 'if' scenario is actually reversed than the reality.
      If Russia offensive fails, they don't have anymore resource left: wrong.
      Russian did made mistake in the strategy of Kiev siege. They had significant loss, they failed, they pull back the forces. Within a week, they came back to the eastern territory with a fresh column of tanks and replenished supplies.
      Conclusion: Russian do have some reserved supplies. They are seasoned nation in warfare and not to be underestimated.
      If Russia offensive success, Ukraine will switch to guerilla tactics: Wrong.
      Ukraine and Russian lands are flat lands with very few forest. Hiding in the forest is the biggest mistake for that means taking surrounded grounds.
      The most feasible way is to switch to urban warfare where the defending forces can use buildings for shelter and keep a close distance to supplies.
      Russian had bombed Ukraine oil mills, fuel depots, and food storages all across Ukraine the whole week while projecting their forces to the east. This means the provision limitation of Ukraine forces is imminent, thus eliminate the chance of Ukrainians going for guerilla tactics.

    2. The media needs to stop talking about this war like it has yet to be seen in the east of the country. Some of the heaviest battles have been in the east in the last five weeks, but how close the Russians got to the capital and other major cities ate up all the news coverage. The Ukrainians have been in a constant ebb and flow with Russian forces in the east just like they were in Kyiv and the south. The media and the analysts and guests they have on their shows need to stop talking like Ukraine has no idea how to fight the Russians in the east, because that's simply false.

    In terms of going on the offensive, I would say it's a combination. When you are defending from a position where you are dug in and it takes perhaps five offenders for every defender then you would want Russia to attack somewhat and diminish them.
    Secondly, attacking is also good considering the Russians are not dug in for defense, they are moving and depleted, and their morale is low. Invading Russians are more easily attacked while Ukrainians are more easily positioned to defend as well. That's very foreboding for putin. Another key is to make sure their new general alexander the butcher understands Russian generals have a very short life span in Ukraine.

      If they can pull it off logically, they could be on the offense behind the Russians while the Ukrainians would be defending in front. This wouldn’t work in the Northeast, but would be viable in the South. The Russians still have to hold the real estate they take and this has already not worked well for them. More and more drones will be needed to silence the big guns.
