    Russia doesn't care about troop losses. Its equipment losses, on the other hand, are a BIG problem.

    • @robertatkins9419
      @robertatkins9419 2 месяца назад

      But Russia does care about troop losses, and that is provably the case, because it explains why they have conducted this operation so painstakingly slowly. IT IS YOU WHO DOESN'T CARE - YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT THE TRUTH, YOU COULDN'T CARE LESS ABOUT THE PEOPLE OF UKRAINE. All you care about is feeding your despicable hatred for Russia.

    • @marioformosa4259

      Very true. The equipment losses are great and signify that the Ukrainians are winning like they've done a dozen times. But it seems the Ukrainians give them their own things back . One gets impatient with the Ukrainians. When are they going to recover their lands. And not by moving backwards. What have they to show for the immense amount of money given?
      This seems to be a site for British chaterers. Like in some pubs in Benidorm its mostly nonsense what they say, but its fun to hear British accents. And quite logical since there are more chaterers than soldiers in the British Army nowadays.

      @@marioformosa4259 NO it's not very true, it's very untrue, and you'd admit that if you yourself were remotely interested in the truth. But then you'd have to also be remotely interested in the welfare of the Ukrainian people, which you are manifestly not. But then, how else could someone be when they so utterly arrogant as to talk about others as speaking 'mostly nonsense', whilst remaining completely oblivious to their own abject ignorance.

    I am Russian. I defected Russia when I received draft letter to fight in Ukraine 2 years ago. I was terrified and devastated,my whole life flashed before my eyes. Now I face 12 years for treason, and was placed at government's terrorist list along with ISIS, Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden. I worked as software engineer in insurance company. I applied for asylum in Canada. Now I work as Data Analyst. Majority of Russians hate Putin and aren't very supportive of war. All my friends and relatives who still in Russia hate Putin, and people who work at draft centers also have mental breakdowns since they dont want to send people to meatgrinder and be responsible for someone else's death. Nobody buying Putin's propaganda in Russia. War only supported by elders and people who work for government. Even war correspondents who used to be staunch Putin's supporters and put a lot of efforts to advertise this war and made it appealing to young generation now starting expose truth about war: amount of russian loses, inproficiency of russian officers, senselessness of war, dire consiquence for Russia and telling to young men not to come to fight in Ukraine. If putin will die this war will end right away, since nobody in russia interested at fighting with Ukraine and hating the west.

    I don’t understand people saying Russia’s losses are “unsustainable” when they’re barely half a million - a snowdrop compared to WW2 losses of 20 million and 20 million more executed under Stalin.

    • @MrGrumpy1
      @MrGrumpy1 2 месяца назад +12

      The Soviet Union lost 20 million in WW2 and then more in Stalin's reign. Only Russia is losing troops on their side. Russia's population is a fraction of the Soviet Union's. Also, Russia is losing only men. The Soviet Union lost men, women and children in cities. Russia was fighting for their existence in WW2. Not a necessary war now.

    Mediazona, (which, by the way, is an anti-Putin media site for one), in collaboration with BBC News service and a team of volunteers, maintains a named list of deceased Russian military personnel. This list is compiled from verified, publicly available sources, including social media posts by family members, local news reports, and official announcements from regional authorities.
    This list is not exhaustive, as not every military death becomes public knowledge.
    *60,000 KIA* recorded names-count
    To provide a more comprehensive picture of the war’s impact, they also offer a second figure: an estimate of excess mortality among men, based on Probate registry data. This method was developed in collaboration with Meduza, to address the limitations of relying solely on publicly reported deaths.
    *120,000 KIA PROBATE REGISTRY ESTIMATE*
    *+45,000 KIA UNCONFIRMED MARCH 14 - JULY 5 2024*
    So, overall estimate based on the Russian Probate Registry remains the same: *by July 2024, approximately 120,000 Russian soldiers have died in the war* (with a 95% confidence interval of 115,000 to 145,000).
