I loved Siouxsie and the Banshees.......still do 30 years later. Good music never dies. I am 45 now and just had Green Fingers on my mind in the shower earlier.
i love morris and mckaye at the end of the day they helped create two incredible albums and left of there own integrity they were genius and to boot looked stunning as the music they created x
2:40 ......HAHAHAHAHA Susan hunting John and Kenny is the most funny thing of the whole docu. both lucky she didn't catch them. she didn't know yet it was all good for the band, it ended finding two of the most genius musicians of the scene.
aahh, im from aberdeen and wish i was born so i could have been there at the banshees signing :(. oh well, i like it that my city is a plays an important to my favourite band.
Absolute best piece of graffiti I have ever seen was in Los Angeles when adam and the ants came to town. It read... "BLACK FLAG Kills Ants on Contact".
While the whole episode is enjoyable as is, regarding the early Siouxsie split, I am confused about Severin and Sioux's constant bitching/bitterness here about John Mackay and Kenny Morris... calling them "pretentiously arty..." and all. The whole Siouxsie approach was very arty (if not entirely pretentious) from day one - and even if it was pretentious, it was so in positive terms... sometimes pretentiousness just has to have its own share in the ideas that spring up within a band. From the story, it turns out the manager was obviously and continuously pulling them in different directions right from the start, consciously causing a rift and yet the two main people took his side, turning against their guitarist and drummer, and still accusing them for everything going wrong... While many groups rarely survive in their original line-up form, it shouldn't have ended this way between them. Maybe it was a clash of egos at the time all the same, as they were all young back then, but judging from both sides of the story, Mackay and Morris sound way more realistic about the whole thing - Siouxsie and Severin seemed like more bossy, determined and way more ambitious, and didn't want to sort some things out, as long as they were achieving the success they aimed for. Deservedly so, though - but judging from the two sides of the story, I definitely understand Morris and Mackay more. Bossy and determined people can be pretty unrealistic about their expectations from others, thus it makes them pretty unbearable to be with in the same room, and while I am a big fan and admire all Siouxsie have done, I don't think Susan and Steve are particularly pleasant in terms of doing business with.
@Allow me Well RS was never gonna be in the banshees forever. IT was mostly for touring, he had his band. He considers his stint in the banshees very formative though. But RS was a headstrong creative guy too, he needed his own band and would never accepted being a subordinate to anyone else.
Absolutely correct. I mean just look at the lyrics to a track like Jigsaw Feeling written by Sioux and Severin ( I presume). 'my brain is out of my hand there's nothing to resist. The impulse is quite meaningless to a cerebral non event''. Not arty? I think not Siouxsie!

Totally agree. I have never heard another guitarist like John Mcay. His sound is what made The Scream what it is 😌
Adam Ant wearing a Spice Girls t-shirt is pretty priceless.

I was there budgie at de montfort Hall
Being a successful musician typically means having bats in your belfry
Puxa que pena...Mackay nunca mais se achou em outra banda ..acho..
budgie is an excellent drummer...and can be busy when necessary...siouxsie seems like a complete and utter nightmare to work with...
04:54 And they hate pretentious lead singers who can't play an instrument.
