Just bought one on these, get to pick it up tomorrow. Also in California, so have to deal with our bullshit waiting period as well. Had plenty of handguns, but my first 9mm. Can’t wait to shoot it, loved your review man!
I've carried the sub-compact 9mm for over 10 years added the trijcon night sights...never jammed...UNLESS you lightly grip the weapon and fire it. This will cause a guarantee jam. It will stove pipe or failure to feed. Just did it yesterday to prove a point to a so-called know-it-all.7/16/22. Beyond that a firm grip and you're running with a champ.
Thank you! Some people have been telling me not to get an XD because of reliability issues but when I shot the 4 inch barrel XD, it was EXCELLENT. I’ll remember to keep a firm grip when I own one. 😉
Got mine 3 weeks ago. Haven't shot in a long time and was able to get some decent groups with my xd9sc. Mine does not like aluminum ammo but shoots great with brass and hollow points!
Run more rounds through it. Sometimes newer pistols are finicky until they smooth out. These XD's should be able to feed all and any type of ammo. I run aluminum through mine without issues.
Great video! Picked up one of these with the free range bag, and 4 extra magazines. This is a great shooter, and to me more comfortable than the S&W M&P Shield. Sucks that so many guns are becoming illegal here in the communist state of california.
VideosByDPF thanks man and yea it sure is and only getting worse. In less than a month you can no longer buy ammo online and I believe limited to certain amount along with a Back ground check. Ridiculous
Excellent man look into powder river precision trigger. I have a video on that if you want to check it out. That trigger job made this little gun incredibly accurate.
Is this a good alternative to the G26 for an all-purpose/SHTF concealable gun for a woman? Or would something like the P365XL or Masada Slim be a better option?
I just bought one today.. They had a sale.. 299.99 for either the 4inch XD or 3inch.. I have 2 Glocks and a Ruger so I went with the 3inch subcompact XD9.. It came with one 13rd mag and a cardboard box.. Its the base model so they can sell the pistol itself at lower price.. The XD was $40 more then the G2C and the Shield was overpriced.. Id take the Taurus G2C over the Shield.. Springfield had the best selection of subcompact amd right away I can tell the XD is a more robust gun then my G19 and G23 and Ruger S9... This XD is a brick and thats why I like it.. But for real.. That S&W Shield should not be over $250.. That is a $199.99 gun all day.. It only holds like 7 or 8 rounds... Overpriced..
I bought one and have carried it on and off between my shield for about 6 years now as an Illinois resident I will never own another Springfield gun but here ars my thoughts on the sub compact. I actually like the added safety of the grip safety my 1911s never had issue with it. The guns super heavy for how small it is. The gun itself is well made no machine marks verys sturdy has held up through thousands of rounds and many environments. The biggest issue is the magazine They're horrible they will garentee break if you slam them in like a normal magazine They're expensive af and just horrible I've broken 3 out 5 just shooting it at the range one broke within a few months of me buying it. So I wouldn't buy this gun again at the time there wasn't many options for a gun like this now there is and they're better and not much more expensive.
Nice gun but I find that the slide release lever is very hard to operate. I need two thumbs to get it to release and that is pressing hard. New gun, maybe needs oil and will loosen up with use.
200037842 from what I understand they are. I'd say get one as it's worth it for the price. It shoots well, very solid. I gotta make a video or shooting it and range review.
Mr.G Disabled2Able nice I got a friend who has a 44mag one.. I want to get one in 22lr that way my sister can shoot it as well... even tho she already knows how to handle a 9mm glock... I'm sure she will enjoy it
200037842 for sure man, ladies love the .22lr just hard to get ammo for at least around here. I have an ole ruger 10-22, great little shooter, stupid accurate.
I shot it once and didn't like the trigger. Then did a trigger job took it out. It's amazing. I will do a video soon at blm land. Maybe even this week or next
@@andrewk9464 well it was too unpredictable and too heavy of a pull for such short barreled pistol. Now it's at 3.5lb pull and very predictable. Made the little pistol way more accurate. If you want check out my trigger install video. It was uploaded not too long ago.
Most likely getting one I do prefer the G43 because it's not a chunky monkey but what's interesting is the width is almost the same as a G43 and grip safety is a plus but yup she looks thick!
I've had my 9mm xd for about 7 years now it is a really great and reliable subcompact.
My friend, that you posted the unboxing time makes you five star in my book.
And your straight forward review is dynamite.
Thank you for the kind words man, I appreciate that!

I just upgraded to trijicon night sights and haven't had any issues with gun. Trigger job and sights and it's perfect
Thank you! Some people have been telling me not to get an XD because of reliability issues but when I shot the 4 inch barrel XD, it was EXCELLENT. I’ll remember to keep a firm grip when I own one. 😉
Finally, Finally!! Someone who posted the 10 round CA mag, everyone shows the regular 2 mags
I Just Picked Up A Stainless Version, After A 16 Day Waiting Period, (CA)
Just ordered mine. Hoping CA gets their shit together so I'm not having to wait 30 days.
@@chastitycox6633 I Hope Yours Clears Witin' 10 Days Chastitty

Just Payed For Mine Earlier Now I Have To Wait 10-15 Days They Said Guns In Cali Are Expensive 😭
Dang takes u guys that long..usually 10 days only

@Charles what series XD do you have?
Thanks for reviewing. I was looking for the California version review as I too live in Cali and looking for a Springfield Armory 9mm.
No problem I got to shoot it at a private range no video, very impressed! Well worth it, very accurate and fun to shoot.
Applied for a permit last Tuesday got it this past Tuesday and bought this gun on the same day. This is in NC.
With the full size mag and extended grip the XD subcompact looks like it copied the glock 19x and glock model 45 . Oh wait springfield did it first.
But who did it best?
Following !!!! for the simple comment to get straight to the point btw I watched beginning to end !
I've just ordered mine on online.. how's the gun holding up so far?
$600 with tax and 15 day wait period because of the back log in doj cali.
Insane
@@fotomotoxxiii $399 in Cali, and 10day wait period.. Have a glock but, thinking about getting one of these..
Manila Kid yup same just got mine 2 days ago here ca
Nice, make sure to change out the striker retainer pin. Super easy to swap.
Yo thanks for responding and is there a video for this ?

And what will these retarded laws accomplish? Nada!
VideosByDPF absolutely nothing, just headache for the good guys while bad guys continue to do what they want. We've seen them use trucks!
How much u pay after taxes and all ?
I’m considering getting rid of my shield for this XD9. What other pros and cons for the two in your experience ?
Very informative introduction. Thank you! I just bought this gun. I must admit its one of the best feeling ergonomic handgun I have ever handled.👌👊🏽💯🔥

I think so yes. g26 is arguably more reliable but I haven't had a single issue with the XD

I want to shoot a rental XD9 Sub-Compact but they’re not available. I shot the 4 inch barrel version and it’s AMAZING!
I'm glad you like it! 👍
@@fotomotoxxiiiUpdate. I shot one in May and I want one! 😉
Torn between the two tone xd9 "4" or the subcompact "3"
Fellow Traveler hell yeahh i dont know which one to get
OhhThats Victor i just got the xd 3nch its nice fits good with or without holster. Can swing out with it good
I got both
Lil’ Michael
I ended up buying the 9mm “3” and the 45 in the “4” haven’t bought anything else since.
Fellow Traveler Niceee. How’s the 45? Any issue? I’ve had 2 jams on my xd9 4 inch but i think it was some cheap ammo i got from Walmart
I have one of these, are there any extended mags that fit it?
I haven't seen any or looked to be honest
We don't have a lot of choices in Commiefornia. How is this as a concealed carry?
I bought one and have carried it on and off between my shield for about 6 years now as an Illinois resident I will never own another Springfield gun but here ars my thoughts on the sub compact.

Oh… I did read something about it’s magazines being broken easily compared to other guns.
This might be might next pistol
Be sure to watch my trigger upgrade video and get that done too. It makes the gun 100x better and more accurate
Lately I am hearing more about "micro" guns. I guess they are just small subcompact guns. I saw one in 45 that still holds 8 rds.
Check out glock 26 so cool too
Are you getting the $180 dollar gear offer as well? Any purchase of Springfield handgun and you get 2 more mags, holster and mag pouch
Yes! Very generous rebate from Springfield you actually get 4 more mags and holster. I go over it in part 2. Will be up soon!
+Mr.G Disabled2Able heck yea! Will definitely check out your video. Really leaning on getting a Springfield with that deal
My EDC is a Ruger SR40
Can I get one in California, or should I look at getting something else?
Jay Phive Yes you can.
Jay Phive move from Cali if you are a gun person
Nice gun but I find that the slide release lever is very hard to operate. I need two thumbs to get it to release and that is pressing hard. New gun, maybe needs oil and will loosen up with use.
Thank you for the Information
Does your pinky hang if you use the mag without the grip extension?
Not hang but not fit well either. Kind of in between. Like with g26 it hangs this has more room
Are they really gonna take it off the roster in 2018? If that's the case mite of case go get one myself, been looking into getting one

OMG I just got glock 9mm from cashmain on wickr he sells different types of guns
You give all the specs...say that the price was a factor in buying it....then don't tell us the price. Useless.
Mozart FX unless what?
Right like when people do reviews how come they don’t tell us how much they payed for it
At least give us an idea of the price.
