    First, I want to take the time to give you some background information on myself. Previously, I decided to deny the responsibilities of gun ownership but, I recently have taken that responsibility back for myself with the recent events within our country. I was wrong to give the responsibilities of protecting my life solely on someone else and/or our government. My Goal in uploading these RUclips videos is to first learn how to defend myself, peers & family members if the time presents itself in a safe & efficient manner while, educating & showing you my experiences (good & bad), by taking this new responsibility of gun ownership. Let you and I learn & discuss together how to defend ourselves safely. Thank You

    Just picked up my 9101 today...I'm in CA. Never shot a gun before, and chose this gun for all the reasons you've mentioned. Good video. Just wish we could get more ammo....it's crazy here in the SFBA.

    • @RoyalWalker
      @RoyalWalker  3 года назад +1

      Awesome pickup with the 9101! It's very strict and tough for us Californians to legally purchase guns and the ammo is extremely limited. My best advice to you being a new gun owner like myself, is getting Pistol Training with your handgun, it was a great experience to shoot my handgun and get more comfortable with proper handling & firing techniques from a trained professional.

  • @dexm2010
    @dexm2010 3 года назад +2

    Great choice. A lot of people hate that grip safety, but to me that was one of the features of the gun I really liked. I've owned several XD9s with thousands and thousands of rounds through them (9mm NATO, steel and aluminum cased crap and all sorts of different defensive rounds) without any problems. Decent trigger out of the box, not too heavy, not too light. Also whatever polymer material that gun is made out of, it is HARD. The magwell isn't going to get chewed up the way some polymer framed guns do over time when metal magazines are used.

    • @RoyalWalker
      @RoyalWalker  3 года назад +1

      Yeah, when it comes to “Shooting Accuracy,” grip strength/hand position is essential.
      I like the grooves and indentations to help myself hold onto the gun, I need all the help I can get in learning how to accurately shoot.

    When lockdowns started in April I went out a made my first gun purchase. I bought a used XD9 with 3 mags and a case for $350. This gun is amazing it can even rival most glocks. Be careful when you buy your first gun I promise it won't be the last. I ended up buying 3 more in the months. I've put 1000 rounds through the XD and no jams or issues. Keep it clean and you will not have any problems.

      @@RoyalWalker 12 gauge with 00buck is great for home defence and so is an AR pistol. Though the AR pistol will run you a lot more than a shotgun. You just have to decide what you want. yeah all springfield guns come with a manufactures target which you’re correct is proof that the gun has been checked & tested for proper function & to make sure it’s sighted properly (which depends on the tester firing it) since whoever tested the gun even signs it too, lol.
    but congrats on your purchase I got my first XD which due to CA shitty gun law only allow 10 rounds in a magazine even the 9mm I decided to go with the XD 40 & so far I absolutely love the gun. Not one time has it misfired, jammed, didn’t fired, it has enough after market support to find the perfect holster you need if you plan on making it your EDC which I’ve done.
    My XD is always on me now that I got my carry permit. I can’t/will not leave my house unless that bad boy is on me & the inside the waist holster I got for it which is the Axis Slim since I carry from appendix holds an extra mag so that gives me an extra piece of mind & less worries when i’m out with my fiancé during these insane times we live in.

    I recently bought one of these in CA as my 6th gun. I got it because the safety pretty much will automatically be off just by grabbing it and placing my finger on the trigger. I plan to carry it in my fanny pack while riding bikes for two reasons. 1. Because of the riots with random people getting attacked, and 2. Because depending on where I ride my bike I may encounter wild animals.
    I also like to have multiple handguns so I can have one loaded and ready to go in each room of my house, so at least 4 or 5 are needed.

      300 of my rounds are for a rifle that I don't have yet that I ordered back in September. A Springfield M1A .308
      I actually have 7 guns now. I got lucky and a Mossberg 12ga shotgun finally was in stock. To get the ones I want takes effort. I have to keep checking the stock online just after midnight when the new stock is listed before the stores actually open.

      Man, it sounds like you have a system for purchasing the guns that you want. And that’s crazy, you haven’t received the rifle from Springfield and you purchased it in September. Why did you decide to go with the M1A .308

    • @Awesome_Force
      @Awesome_Force 3 года назад

      @@RoyalWalker I wanted a .308 because it has more range than a 5.56 that the majority of people get. I went with the M1A because here in CA 10 round magazine is the limit, which that rifle has, I like the Springfield brand & reputation, and I wanted a rifle without a scope for quicker target acquisition. I already have a 30-06 with a scope if I need something extra powerful for long range, but I didn't have something without a scope for medium range. I forgot to count that one before so I guess I have 8 total.
      In order to get the ones I wanted it took a while of checking the online stock in the morning almost every day because they sell out so fast of most of them. Online they show the stock once they are putting it on the truck for shipment before the store even has them. They show up online about two weeks before the store has them so checking online stock is usually best if you are looking for a particular one.

    I commented on your other xd video about six months ago. I hope you still like your xd9. It is perhaps my favorite for many of the reasons you mentioned. I have probably fired about 7,000 to 10,000 rounds in mine. Recently I noticed the firing pin pin (the one on top behind the loaded chamber indicator) started walking out of the hole. A gunsmith replaced the pin with a heavy duty one. I recently purchased the xd 9 little brother, subcompact mod. 2. It takes the same mags as the full size and there is a sleeve collar that extends the grip or there is a flush fit 10 round mag also for concealed carry. I’ll probably carry it from time to time, but it’s built like a tank compared to my s&w m&p shield plus. Cheers.

      Royal Walker I started with the 9mm just like you and love it! I added the 5” barrel XD45 as a second option so my girlfriend could use the 9mm. It’s awesome! I love the Springfield Armory platform and will hopefully add the SA Saint to my collection, and a shotgun. Just want to have a variety of choices for different potential situations. It’s good to be prepared. But the SAXD45 is a second that I’d recommend if you like the 9mm. Yes, ammo is more but you can still practice at the range with drills that won’t have you going through a ton. I usually practice 100 rounds with the 9, and then 50 with the 45. Have fun!

    Great review, I just put down a deposit for the same gun except it’s the sub compact, people complain too much about the California gun laws which suck and should be changed a bit but there’s not much we can do about it but as long as you have your gun and ammo that’s all that should matter also thank you for not trying to bring politics into it since too many gun channels always feel the need to bash liberals as if liberals don’t own guns, there’s are plenty of liberals that own guns for protection, thank you for your review it’s awesome and can’t wait to get mine cuz times are too crazy right now 👍🏼

      Thanks! I’m a bigger guy so, the sub-compact would be a bit harder to hold in my hand. The guns & ammo is scare in CA at this time during this pandemic so, it’s getting what you can & keeping it. And you’re right, there are plenty of liberals that are gun owners & stuck in between the constant battle of gun ownership rights & their party’s political beliefs.

      @@RoyalWalker yeah when I went in to buy it they told me it’ll take a month maybe two before it comes in from the armory and that ammo should be coming in, I heard the LAX gun shop just got a major surplus of ammo though, don’t know if you heard about that, at the end of the day can we all just be gun lovers despite our political affiliation, I’m very liberal but I’m also very pro guns so I think it’s something we can all use to bring us together and just pop a few at the gun range also I’m a smaller guy but I was specifically looking for something small but could hold a decent amount of ammo and that it’ll be easier to conceal and the XD sub compact was perfect
