He struggled to tell me... but he said "Baby, Steve died today." I knew exactly who he was talking about cause Steve Irwin was my hero and my role model. Hell, my whole family loved him like he was family. I remember crying and watching his movie for the rest of the night.

@Cosmonauteable yes he did, why people still go rock climbing when it's so fcking dangerous and every second could kill you? Why do you want to go fishing in open sea when a giant wave could roll over your boat? Why do people still go skiing if there is a chance of avalanche, or hypothermia? Because their love for climbing, because their love for fishing, because their love for skiing.
Same for Steve, He know the consequences, yet he still trying to show everyone how great animal is, some of them are dangerous, but that is his passion, that is his love, and I respect him for it. If all you did is staying at home in that comfortable chair while watching TV all day and repeating the same routine, I won't call that truly living your life, and I see no meaning in it.
People can die anywhere anytime, if you are reading this you can suddenly died by heart stroke, when I typing this I could die with meteor suddenly crash into my room, when we go to see a movie in theater we could suddenly die when there is a earthquake. No body, No one, knew when we are going to die, so why not do something you like to the fullest?

1: Of course he was afraid of something. And hippo's are one of the most dangerous animals in the world and parrots can take chunks out of you if you're not careful
2: He usually kept the snakes in a position where they were comfortable. That's why he wasn't killed all those times he held a venomous snake
3: Well, has anyone ever not seen or touched an animal they've never seen before and become inspired by it to do something? He had a point, awareness is the first step to conservation
4: Breaking bones is painful. 'Nuf said.
5: Had a point. Ever go see the lions at the circus?
6: Gotta go with Grandad Irwin on this one
7: He loved all creatures, great and small, hairy and scaley. He valued all life, not just his critters

Steve Irwin was clever. He understood animals but he also understood the psychology of people. As he said, his excitement drew people in and put animals on people's agenda. He did dangerous things, and people watched, because danger fascinates people. That way, he could educate people about animals, promote their welfare, and try and save them.

I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.

John Fabio he was. He brought a bunch of land that was set for demolition (WITH HIS OWN MONEY) and made it a wildlife reserve, whenever he had a close call with an animal he would not blame the animal, he would blame himself and take full responsibility for his actions. He lead a campaign against poaching, didn't grab a snake from behind the head so he didn't damage its spine and much, much more. I would like too see what you have done for conservation dickhead

Video Graham: I ate no "humble pie" on learning of Irwin's death as I saw it for what it was, and IDIOT who put his own life at serious risk for a close-up video of a dangerous animal that could've been taken from a safe distance with the camera mounted on a tripod and zoomed in on the animal. Instead, he'd get right up close to the animal, being the stupid fool that he was. Harry Butler and(as boring as he's become) David Attenborough had the good sense to shoot from safe distances and let their cameras do the work that they were designed for.

Neil he routinely put his own life in danger for something he was passionate about, education. When I see videos like this sometimes I wonder just how much I would actually know about animals had Steve not been there to show me. This is important for both conservation reasons as well self preservation when you find yourself face to face with these animals. I grew up watching his show because it was fun, informative, and I got to see how I can interact with them and stay in one piece, which is important because I love animals. I grew up in Florida, US, where alligators and and many different venomous snakes and spiders were everywhere, as well as a melting pot of dangerous mammals and more reptiles. Seeing Steve interact with animals allowed me to witness how those animals react, what it looks like when they're angry, when they're docile, or when they mean you no harm. That helped me a LOT growing up. Knowing when to be afraid and when to calmly give them their space, and when you can interact with animals is priceless to someone like me. How do you suppose I would have learned without someone like Steve there to show me, who was brave enough to get close and show us how animals act around humans? There's no local experts where I grew up and you sure as hell don't learn this stuff from reading a book!
As for the kids being put in danger...that's your opinion, and yes, the word "danger" is relative. Personally I wouldn't do it and I wouldn't let him do it with my kids, but that was his own child. This action does not earn him the disrespect you are showing him even after he is already long gone. Let's be honest here, what exactly do you gain from telling everyone on youtube how stupid you think a dead man was? It does no one any good and it's wrong a moral level.

First of all, let me say I liked Steve Irwin very much and knew he was afraid of parrots. That made me laugh because I'd worked with parrots for over twenty years, but there was no way in hell I would ever tail an eight-foot black mamba, which Steve did on one of his trips to Africa.
I can tell you why parrots bit Steve Irwin. Parrots mirror a person's energy. Steve was always hyperactive, so any parrot who met him would immediately become hyperactive. If the parrot didn't know Steve, it would use that energy to defend itself. If you don't want parrots to get wound up, you have to be calm. Steve couldn't be calm because he was so passionate about wildlife; therefore, he got bit.
I used to dream of working with the parrots at Australia Zoo. Someone had to do it. ;)

Coyote Peterson of Brave Wilderness is quickly becoming the next Steve Erwin. We need more people like them in the world, education is the key to improving nature conservation, and we sure do need more of it in this day & age.

Kevin Richardson and Cesar Milan already are. Kevin just handles Lion's, Hyena's and Leopards in South Africa though and exposes the canned hunting and petting zoo's which, are connected to canned hunting entirely.

Canned Hunting is ONLY legal in North Korea, the only legal hunt in the Southern African nations will happen because you buy a license from the State NOT farmers, you go in the bush with a guide, NOT to farmers to release a white lion on a small plot of land, by law any animal is meant to be allowed to flee even across national lines which, bans all hunting as an international criminal act. Namibia banned all foreign hunting and instead they helped the locals and regenerate an entire Desert and bring in mass tourist money more than hunters will ever bring in and helped locals best. Zimbabw after Cecil the Lion was killed Mugabe said any man hunting black or white outside the 1 last licensed area in North Zimbabwe, will face being tied up and flogged in public for their crimes.

He is useless, watch Cesar Milan for dangerous domestic pets, look at Kevin Richardson who walks and swims with and sleeps with packs of Lion's, Hyena's and Leopards or the so called Cheetah Man who helped ban hunting in Namibia a Frenchman who left to live in the bush and helps Cheetahs return to land they been extinct due to hunting for decades like the Namib Desert.

Childhood hero. Died on my birthday. It's still tragic, but he died doing what he loved and that's something no one will ever take away from him.

He was a great man, he taught about animals, help them and more
I can’t believe he even died, he was fantastic. People are heartbroken, including his family, I wasnt around when Irwin died but, fuck I’m still really sad. I glad his family are moving on and still do what they love to do. It’s fantastic to see a family, still in heartbroken, carrying on the legacy that was Steve Irwin. He was a lovey man. Still brings me to tears of what happened. Rest in piece Steve, well never forget you ❤️❤️

One time I needed a picture of Steve Irwin and I forgot his name so I just typed in “Australian guy who died” and he popped up
