John 1:1-14: the Father tabernacled in Jesus

  • The Father tabernacled in the flesh named Jesus. God is Light and the Light of John's Prologue IS the Father Himself as expressed by Jesus in all the words and works Jesus was doing in the name of the Father. The flesh named Jesus expressed the Word of the Father, who/what the Father is: light, life, truth, love. He expressed the Father in the things he was doing, the works of the Father. It was the Father abiding in Jesus who did the works.
What does the following passage mean?
Now, little children [of the Father], abide in the [the Father] so that when He [the Father] appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from [the Father] in shame at [the Father's] coming. If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of [the Father]. See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know [the Father] (see Jn 17:25). Beloved, now we are children of God [the Father], and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when the [the Father] appears, we will be like [the Father], because we will see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure (see 1:5). 1 John 2:28-3:3. Read it carefully.
Then read Revelation 21:1-7; 22:1-5. See also 1 Timothy 6:14-16.

God said, 'Let there be light.' Jesus is the Head, the Firstfruits, of the new beginning, the new creation, he is the bright and morning star. There was evening, there was morning, the first day. He is the Beginning of the creation of God, the Alpha, the First. God created all things in Genesis by expressing Himself and His Wisdom in His spoken Word. This time the Father does this in His living Word, His Son. He has spoken to us in a Son. Heb 1:1.

Wonder why there is so much confusion about johns gospel .
I think the devil wants to blind us for the unity between the father and son , and that the father was in the son abiding, doing his works .
Because if we understand how it works between God and Jesus , we know how it work with us and Jesus , because he said; as my father sent me into the world I also sent you into the world

Eternal life is knowing the Father through the son. That is why he had just said, "Believe in God; believe also in me." Jesus is the way to the Father. The Spirit of the Father abides in the risen Christ bodily. That is why life is found "in him." The Law was a tutor to lead to Christ. Now that Christ has come those under the Law are released from the bondage of the Law to have freedom in Christ, to serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

I get that. The footstep followers of Jesus continued worship at the temple and bringing offerings. His death and resurrection did not end that; that only ended with the temple's destruction. I think the original idea was include gentiles as foreign residents of 'God-fearers' as they were in the synagogues.

God being literally a Spirit is the Spirit God is literally Light and He is literally His word which is life for us and through Jesus all of God was expressed. It seems like John's prologue was a test to see who has been paying attention. Trinitarians conflated all of it and missed the point entirely. In a classroom of theology a good professor would have to give them an F because they failed miserably. Unfortunately to fail this test could mean life or death, God bless their little hearts they must take the class over till they get it right.

The gnostic (although not actually gnostic) gospel of truth:-
"Just as there lies hidden in a will, before it is opened, the fortune of the deceased master of the house, so (it is) with the totality, which lay hidden while the Father of the totality was invisible, being something which is from him, from whom every space comes forth. For this reason Jesus appeared; he put on that book; he was nailed to a tree; he published the edict of the Father on the cross. O such great teaching! "

Yes, I am aware of the Genesis 1:1 connection. I think people are making too much out of the missing article at John 1:1c. The word order is "pros GOD AND GOD was." We should not suppose that each instance of the word "GOD" means something entirely different (like Trinitarians do). I take it to mean the Word is what the Father is, In the context of John, that would be Truth, Life, Light, Love. The Father abiding in Jesus was expressing himself.

I wonder how many trinis realize their craftsmen haven't even finished hammering out their idol. These last two trini quotes are nothing short of the type of confession that Gregory of Nyssa made regarding the source of the trinity. Both passages just confessed to us that trinity is a man-made idol. Hammered out but not quite finished.... contd

Given the way the Greek uses the definite article differently than English does, do you have any thoughts on the rendering THE WORD, when TON ThEON is not rendered THE GOD?
Another dimension to consider: Jesus is the HEAD of the body.
In Hebrew in Genesis 1:1, IN [the] BEGINNING is B-REShIT,
the 3-letter root of which is RESh, which means HEAD.

It is not a matter of choosing between "chief" and "first." The firstfruits is both. In fact, the Greek word arche carries the same idea. For example, a patriarch was the arche because he was first, the beginning of the people, and he is therefore chief. Jesus, the firstfruits of the new creation, the firstborn out of the dead, is the Alpha and Omega of the new creation.

The Babylonian creation myth opens almost the same way "on high" (resh is another way of high).
Ironically in Genesis the very next use of REShIT is to refer to Nimrod the Bablyonian's kingdoms.

Wish I'd seen this video 6 months ago as it would have saved me a lot of research time. LOL As it is this video gives me validity to the path the Holy Spirit sent me down in studying John 1 and understanding "The Word" from an Old Testament perspective as John and those in his day would have. Christians have a very limited understanding of "The Word" (ho logos) as either being Jesus or the bible. It is impossible to understand any of Johns writings, or even the entire bible for that matter, if your only understanding of "The Word" is defined as either being Jesus or the bible. John says "The Word" {verse 14} was made Jesus (flesh) not that a preexisting Jesus was made incarnate. "The Word" {verse 1} is who God is and is that which he speaks: Law, Light, Love, and Life. Blew me away to see that Brother Kel had 3 of the 4 "L's" I had came up with. John 1:1-13 is all about God the Father and has nothing to do with Jesus, preexisting or otherwise. Jesus himself even uses (ho logos) in John 12:48 as that which will judge us in the last day, and Jesus claims to be the messenger of "The Word" not the "The Word" itself. As Brother Kel points out, when you understand that it is God the Father living in Jesus and not that Jesus is God, is when the New Testament teachings, and God's plan for us and the world through Jesus really becomes apparent. But the Pharisees didn't understand this in John 8 either so they set about to stone Jesus and Christians believe the same as the Pharisees. Too bad they don't believe Jesus.

Lots of similarities with Oneness theology in explaining John 1:1-4. However, there are two glaring errors that I picked up right away. 1. He believes that Jesus is the beginning of the so called "new creation" of God rather than being the beginning in God's predestined plan (Col. 1:15; Proverbs 8:22-36; Rev. 3:14; Rev. 13:8). 2. Kel does not identify Jesus as the logos which was God in John 1:1. Revelation 19:13 clearly identifies Jesus as "the Logos of God." Thus, we can see that "God was the Logos" in John 1:1 which proves that Jesus is the word (logos) of the Father made flesh (John 1:14).
Why would Jesus be called God in John 1:1c as the expressed thought of the Father if he is not "God with us" in the flesh as a human being? When we compare Hebrews 1:8 to John 1:1 we find that God already called Jesus God "in the beginning" (before the creation actually took place - Isaiah 43:10-11; Micah 5:2) - "Your throne O God," because God identified the man Christ Jesus as "Immanuel, God with us" in the flesh.
Also note that John 14:8-9 states that Philip said to Jesus, "Lord SHOW US THE FATHER ..." Jesus replied, "Have I been so long a time with you and HAVE YOU NOT KNOWN ME Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father." Why would Jesus say "have you not KNOWN ME" after being asked, "Lord show us the Father" if Jesus was not the Father with them in the flesh as a true man? God the Father clearly tabernacles with men in the flesh as a true man living among men.

The God who "calls the things which be not as though they were" (Rom. 4:17) can certainly call forth the generations of all human history from the beginning in His "logos", "expressed thought". Isaiah 41:4 says, "Who has performed and accomplished it? Calling forth THE GENERATIONS FROM THE BEGINNING." Hence, all human generations were called forth by God after he first called forth the Messiah as "the firstborn of all creation" (Col. 1:15) and as "the BEGINNING OF the Creation OF GOD" (Rev. 3:14).
QUESTION: How could a "Semi-Arian" created angel or son have created all things as the Father's agent when God Himself said in Isaiah 44:24 (NASB), "Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, and the one who formed you from the womb, "I, the LORD, am the maker of all things, Stretching out the heavens by Myself And spreading out the earth ALL ALONE?"

    • @globalimpactministries766
      @globalimpactministries766 7 лет назад

Oneness Theology teaches that God became a fully complete man in the virgin who lived an authentic human life. Therefore, Jesus could not be God with us as God, but rather, God with us as a true man. For the God who "partook of flesh and blood" (Heb. 2:14) was also "made fully human in every way" (Heb. 2:14-17). Hence, the man Christ Jesus could be tempted and die within his distinct human life while the Father as the Father could not.
See my RUclips Videos: "The Distinction Between The Father and the Son" and "The Case For Oneness Theology."

    • @globalimpactministries766
      @globalimpactministries766 7 лет назад

Colossians 1:15 informs us that Jesus was foreknown to be the image of the invisible God as "the firstborn of all creation" within God's expressed thought (logos) from the beginning. Just as Jesus was already "born" in the mind and plan of God, so was he already "the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world" (Rev. 13:8) in the divine mind and plan of God from the very beginning.
Isaiah 44:24 is clearly addressing the Creation alone. “I am Jehovah, who makes all things; who alone stretches out the heavens; who spreads out the earth by myself..." Arians and Semi-Arians believe that Jesus was a created angelic being who actually did all of the creating. Yet Yahweh God the Father said that he "ALONE stretched out the heavens" and that he spread out the earth by HIMSELF.
The text says nothing about any of the angels participating in the actual creation so your Semi-Arian position in which you allege that Jesus did the creating as a lesser god person is proven false. The angels were created before the earth but none of the angels could have performed the creation. For the Creation of the heavens and the earth is only an attribute that the Most High God Himself can perform as the Almighty! If God used angelic agency when He stretched out the heavens then he lied when he said that he did it ALONE and by HIMSELF.
Jesus was "the beginning of the creation of God" (Rev. 3:14) in God's expressed thought (logos = God's divine plan) just as Ephesians 1:4 states that "He chose us (God's elect) in him (Christ) before the foundation of the world."
If God did not express His divine plan for the ages at the beginning, then please explain these scriptures.
      1. 1 Peter 1:20 states that Jesus was "Foreknown before the creation of the world."
      2. Romans 8:29 "Those in whom he FOREKNEW he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his son that he might be the firstborn among many brethren."
      3. Speaking of wisdom personified, Proverbs 8:22 says, "The LORD acquired me at the beginning of His creation, BEFORE HIS WORKS of long ago."
4 "The lamb who was slain FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD." Rev. 13:8
      5. "Who has performed and accomplished it. Calling forth the generations FROM THE BEGINNING?" Isaiah 41:4
Here we can clearly see that the generations of all humanity was already called forth by God by His expressed word and thought from the beginning. The word "beginning" proves that God indeed spoke His divine plan for the ages at a specific point in time before the actual creation of the heavens and the earth took place.

The scriptures teach that God first “called forth” or “birthed” (John 1:1; Colossians 1:15, 18; Hebrews 1:6; Revelation 3:14; John 5:26) His predestined plan (Ephesians 1:11; Acts
2:23: Titus 1:2; Romans 8:29-30) for all human ages before the world was physically created (Isaiah 41:4; Acts 17:26; Hebrews
      1:2).
Since Christ was God’s reason and purpose for the ages in His predestined plan (Ephesians 3:8-11; Ephesians 1:9-10), God created all things through His expressed thought (His Logos) which included Christ as the future head over all created things (1 Corinthians 15:27-28; Hebrews 2:8; Colossians 1:18).
Jesus Christ himself was God’s own expressed Wisdom, Power, and Understanding (Jeremiah 51:15-16) before Christ actually became a living child born and son given (Isaiah 9:6; John 5:26). After God’s wisdom and counsel had been brought forth in His predestined plan (John 1:1; Revelation 3:14; Proverb 8:25), He used that wisdom and counsel (Ephesians 1:11; Proverb 8:14; Jeremiah 51:15-16) which was prophetically expressed through the future Messiah
      (1 Peter 1:20; Revelation 13:8; Revelation 5:12; Colossians
1:15-18; Hebrews 1:2) to create all material things and to govern the universe.
Proverbs 3:19 “Yahweh BY WISDOM (personified as Christ) FOUNDED THE EARTH, BY UNDERSTANDING (personified as Christ) He established the heavens.”
“It is He who made the earth by HIS POWER, who established the world BY HIS WISDOM, and BY HIS UNDERSTANDING He stretched out the heavens. When HE UTTERS HIS VOICE (HIS WORD), there is a multitude of waters in the heavens.” Jeremiah 51:15-16
The inspired words that God gave to the prophet Jeremiah amazingly corresponds with God’s “Wisdom” and “Understanding” spoken of by Solomon in Proverbs chapter 8:1, 8:12, 8:14, 8:25, and with the scriptures that speak of God creating all things through His Word (Psalm 33:6, John 1:1-3). Thus proving that the Son of God was birthed in God’s expressed thought as His own Power, Wisdom, and Understanding before His Word and Wisdom actually became a personal Son.Therefore, just as a man first expresses his plan on a blueprint before
building a house, so God the Father first expressed His plan which later became flesh as a personal Son (John 1:14).
If the Father’s power, wisdom, and understanding is another distinct person beside Himself (Arianism and Trinitarianism), then God the Father would have been without His own “power, wisdom, and understanding” throughout eternity past. If so, then the Trinitarian idea of the coequality of three alleged God Persons collapses.
1 Corinthians 1:24 says that “Christ is the power OF GOD and the wisdom OF GOD.”
Just as the strength, power, and wisdom of a man belongs to himself, so Jesus is the Father’s “power” and “wisdom” which belongs to Himself.
Job 12:13 (ISV) “With God is wisdom and strength; counsel and understanding belongs to him.”
John 1:1 “In the beginning was the word (logos) and the word (logos) was WITH GOD, and the word (logos) was God.”
The only interpretation which harmonizes with all of the Biblical data is that the word, wisdom, and understanding of God that He uttered before creation, was God’s own “power” that was expressed through His plan (Ephesians 1:11 - like a blueprint) which God used to physically create all things. At the forefront of God’s expressed plan, God
first preconceived the birth of His Son through His expressed thought (the logos of John 1:1 as “the firstborn of all creation” - Colossians 1:15) who would rule over all His creation after the word (logos) was later made visible in the flesh (John 1:14; Psalm 8:5-6; Heb. 2:7).
Hence, Jesus was already “the firstborn of all creation” (Colossians 1:15) in God’s mind and plan before the
creation of the world actually took place. Therefore God the Father used His own impersonal “wisdom” and “counsel” that He already “called forth” like a blueprint to create all material things. Paul identified that wisdom and counsel as “the firstborn of all creation” before the Son actually became a living human person (Hebrews 1:2, Colossians 1:15-18).

Global Impact Ministries So how does all this differ than trinitarians? Isn't it the same thought and mystery they proclaim Jesus to be?

Your are out of context of Jewish thought especially just prior to Jesus - wisdom literature is usually referring to the Torah when using the term memra or logos (not as in the later targumim who adopt the Greek demi-urge type concept) & this is demonstrated in ben sira & wisdom of Solomon.
You are also assuming that all beginnings are the one and same absolute beginning as opposed to what the text says "In A beginning" in John & in Genesis.

If you say the Father isnot the Son in your thinking yet you deny the Son is God then you are left saying the Son is impersonal word become flesh so only a creation of God. That I and scripture nor God can agree on.

"the Head of the body" - in the Hebrew language and thinking "head" can mean first & heal last & head of the body (or group) could mean the first of the group or priesthood.

Shifting the para-dime is required when reading John by not sticking to the pre-understandings of conventional hermeneutic method.

"He was raised bodily from the dead, same body." - not true since he was not initially recognised & even this body had to be given up so as not to invalidate the sacrifice.

So Jesus could be the BEST (choice part) of creation.
The the Alpha, = Aleph to the Tav again a designation for the Torah.
The sharp sword protruding from his mouth = again the Torah.
You really need to get in step with period literature.

And so what does the unitarian do with John 1:18: "No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known."
    Edit:
List it differently in their video, OK so you're video does have that verse you do realize the scripture you cited for that verse isnt found in the earliest texts we have, don't you? Instead the earliest texts have a available read:
Θεὸν οὐδεὶς ἑώρακεν πώποτε· μονογενὴς Θεὸς (monogenes Theos) ὁ ὢν εἰς τὸν κόλπον τοῦ Πατρὸς, ἐκεῖνος ἐξηγήσατο.
This verse would make sense since it closes off the Christology of the opening chapter by decisively concluding who and what Jesus is.

(John 1:12)  However, as many as did receive him, to them he gave authority to become God’s children (sons of god), because they were exercising faith (faith without works is dead) in his name (Greek & Hebrew both define this as character) - to act the way that Jesus acted - to put on the Torah not the traditions of men.
Paul speaks of the things that Jesus did & yet he never actually saw ANY of it. His vision was not of the history of Jesus life.

JEHOVAH is the unseen numbers in Pi 3.14 and JESUS is the letters and words that attach to the numbers. Only the KJV Bible is the WORD OF GOD. You have to convert the Word into numbers using simple English gematria A=1---Z=26 and then you search for the value in Pi 3.14 to unseal the word for the revelation. Three that bear witness in heaven is the FATHER, WORD, and HOLY GHOST. They bear witness that JESUS is the son of GOD. WORD came FLESH from HEAVEN but the FATHER was still in heaven. This is telling us the numbers stayed in HEAVEN the FATHER and JESUS came down which are the letters. I hope this makes sense.
