Just discovered this thanks to a friend. Like the greatest 10 minutes of live rock guitar I've ever heard. Had no idea how raw and energetic his live performances were.
Ted Nugent is the ONLY musician of any genre of kind I have ever heard in my 60 years of life who masterfully manages to piss off the hard left, the hard right, and everybody in between and still manages to keep ‘em all, myself included, wanting and coming back for more. That’s an amazing feat yet to be accomplished by any performer except only by Ted Nugent. His guitar playing is just incredible and in a league of its own.
This version ranks as one of the greatest classic hard rock guitar songs ever! Such awesome power and energy. I keep listening to it over and over and never get tired of it...
My head is just 'ringing' from how loud I was just playing this! -- I hope it levels out before I go to work later today... :-) (I'll be asking customers to repeat themselves over and over again, as I scream in their faces.... "YOU NEED SOME NEW SLACKS TO GO WITH THIS SHIRT, BUDDY!?") -- My manager will be pissed at me! :-O
I get a lot of people tell me I should act my age (61). They don't get it that if you can totally "feel" music like this, keep your mind, body and spirit strong that you don't have to be old. Like the spoken lyrics in "Stranglehold": "You never got to go"!
I hear the same thing. I turn 65 this winter and NOTHING pumps me up like great Rock 'n' Roll! Take Note: *Observe at **5:26**.* - Derek breaks a string, was able to throw it behind the neck of his guitar and continue. -Ted & Derek....! THE MEN!
This was my very first concert i went to, i was about 4 feet from Ted in the pit. with like 7 of my best friends, We was totaly sound death and BOMBED from song one.

Honestly, they should point stage lights at the other members too. Together with Derek he made some of his best albums and he doesn´t get the appreciation that´s needed in my opinion.
I was noticing the same thing, about the lighting and camera work, on the videos of Journey to the Center of the Mind too. --Need to show us /give more attention to the rest of the band. :-)
I get your point, I agree, but we all know where the heart of it all is in this one case. There are more than enough bands out there with vocalists taking all the spotlight all the time. It's overrated at times. And I don't get it either, with those bands we want more attention with other members than vocalists, and here we think vocalists deserve more. It depends on so many damn factors. Here Ted shines like no other
There wasn't anyone any better when Ted and Derek were together..they had a thing going on that's hard to find. I wish ted would get in the garage with him and create another banger
Nugent's right hand must be the busiest of all time on guitar. The amount going on is spectacular. Hybrid picking, alternate picking, volume and tone control , pickup control, and it never slows down. Jeff Beck finger picking is maybe busier , hard to compare .
After watching in slo mo and accounting for RUclips degradation, you can see the thing break and whip off and around close to Nuges' head right around 5:20.
Ted's longtime 2nd guitarist, Derek St. Holmes. Take Note: *Observe at **5:26**.* - Derek breaks a string, was able to throw it behind the neck of his guitar and continue. -Ted & Derek....! THE MEN!
I noticed that too.... Do musicians keep a fresh instrument on state just in case of accidents like that? -- I'll have to ask a buddy of mine. -- His sons have a good, hard - rockin' band in west Michigan. :-)

Can't be sure, but I think it was the second one. There was one in 86', I'm sure about that (I've listened to it), but there's no record of anything before that.

NOBODY could do it like Uncle Ted could do it...he was the embodiment of ENTHUSIASM(and ROCK n ROLL!)
best 80's perf by anyone that night
That sounds about right. I've got the ticket stubs in storage...it'll be a while before I can get to them, but I'll have to check it.

On a 1/4 million $ 59 Les Paul. Looks similar to Gary Moores.
Ted is doing things that is subtle but crucial to his thing

you can even see it regular speed if you watch for it

You're right, as Ted Say's;
"It's time to say goodnight 87" before the countdown.
From the Fly movie
