I have this exact battery in the back of my pickup truck.
It is powering my Setpower PT55 12v refrigerator/freezer.
I have three 110 watt flexible solar panels mounted on the roof of my cap on my truck.
Last year I ran my fridge for 185 straight days in my truck with the solar panels charging the battery.
I have a Victron mppt solar charge controller also.
I had a few issues with the battery last year but once I figured out the proper settings for the solar charger I have had zero issues.
That hub can not run anything high powered.
Anything over 10 amps will shut off after a certain time.
These things would be amazing to have during the blizzards we like to get around here! Thing is pretty sweet my man!
I have one of these and have been using it heavily for the last month! Great product and the battery is actually manufactured by Renogy! The hub is awesome!
Was not aware of that,thanks
Where did you see this? Mfg by Renogy is a negative.
@@arkypaularky hobotech reviewed this and advised the manufacture and BMS type
Great video 👍... pretty cool idea, it's always nice to get multiple uses out of a product to fit your needs.
👍👍Good review, interesting product. Big high to Brooklyn.
New Subscriber. I appreciate the plain and simple explanations with extra tips. Love to see Brooklyn wagging her tail! Best Regards
Awesome! Welcome Kevin thank you
I think it's cool that this battery has this add-on! I like how you need less adapters with it
Great detailed video , save me a ton I was on my way to buying a mppt charge controller and a vanilla liepo4 battery I wanted something simple to charge a life p04 battery excellent job
Thank you Michael
Al, thanks again for a great review. To be honest, I wouldn't be aware of any power station devices without your reviews, in fact I have gone "all in" using EGO lawn equipment after all your in depth reviews..
Thanks again..

Bought a 1000 watt bougerv inverter to go with this great little set up for smaller things, would love another to try out in parallel.
I think these seem really slick. I hope others take the general idea. I’m hoping a V2 of this does 100 watts on the USB-C to power most laptops. The solar cable would be nice as well or at least the Anderson connector like you said. Definitely not a deal killer but it would be nice if it had it.
Having many solar batteries I truly appreciate it, normal RV amp size is perfect. Unfortunately it’s not heated so can’t charge it below 32F or use it when very cold unlike competitors. It would be good for camping, off grid, emergency comms and trolling motor. Maybe should have Bluetooth like some of the competition. Nice review, thanks!
Thanks
I've been wanting a power-station this winter. Something I can leave in my truck overnight and run a small space heater half an hour before work. Clear the windshield before I start the truck.
No Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. RUclips is my only social media. 🤞
I agree with pleasantly surprised.
I just bought that battery and add-on with the intend to replace the cheap battery that came with my RV. I really wish they would have included bluetooth or even wifi + an app to keep track of the battery health, capacity and wattage-in when charging. Who knows, maybe they will sell an upgraded add-on hub that includes those features.
Great battery bank for charging phones & tables and running 12v coolers. No twitter or Instagram.
👍👍👍
I like this. Any recommendations for an inverter and a charger if we don't go with solar (or when solar isn't enough)?
Years ago I was going to play with inverters, solar chargers, batteries but in all honesty I've grown to appreciate all in one systems, they definitely cost more but they have it all, inverter, mppt controller, ports, outlets, BMS, expansion, warranty etc. EcoFlow, Bluetti are just a few of the brands I enjoy. Sorry I can't help much here.
do you need the hub to charge the battery with anderson connectors via solar?
i dont need the hub. i am planning to use the battery with a trolling motor for a boat.
You would have to get your own solar charge controller to charge it with solar if you don’t get the hub. I don’t specialize in that type of setup but I do know that
recommended ac chargers??
Nice video so can you use a 120W folding solar panel with this battery?
Anderson will support up to 25v so you need to make sure that your panel is below that. 120w should work because you’ll never get 120
Excellent review. Extremely informative. I have purchased one and currently running a freezer on the battery. My question is this. If you have several of these and are in parallel and they all have the hub. Can you use each hub separately or can you only run one of them at a time? If you can only run one at a time, then the subsequent batteries would not need a hub and would have to purchase a same battery without the hub. Would that be correct?
1st thank you!
Good question I would probably ask you to email the team support@drprepare.com
Thanks. Will email dr. Prepare on Monday. When I know the answer. Will let you all know if the issue about multiple hubs is of interest.
Thanks
After contacting the company several times, I have not received a answer regarding using multiple hubs when multiple batteries are hooked in parallel. I did inform them that I did not have a problem with either the battery or the hub, I just wanted to have some usage information. From there. Of note, the power max battery with the hub was hooked up to my freezer. It ran the freezer for 30 hours and I still had 20% of the battery remaining. I was rather shocked. Lasted that long. The freezer had already been cooled down and I changed from Max to economy mode. I think I could have probably run it several more hours but needed to stop at the point. I did. Very interesting experiment.
Can this be charged from AC (without alligator clips) or from 12 volt dc car input?
No it doesn’t have an ac inverter
I own 2 BLUETTI The Eb60s and the Ac200p
Would this battery work as an expansion for capacity? Or should I look for the Power Queen?
I believe bluetti sells a cable that you can connect from the AC 200p to use this battery
Do you think the Dr Prepare could be charged through the hub in a car while engine on or through a Bluetti AC Max using an Anderson to car charger cable and if so do you know of a cable that would work?
I can’t confirm, never tried it but take a look at this cable, maybe contact the manufacturer , let me know how it goes, amzn.to/3JxjE3O
It takes quite a while, as the input will be limited to 7-10A depending on your car’s plug and fuses. You can get an adapter cable that is 12v plug to small Anderson. With direct connection to the battery terminals, the input limit is 50A, so with some investment of parts (4AWG cable, isolation switch, circuit breakers, various connectors, dc-dc charge controller, etc) and labor you can wire it to your alternator to charge at 20-40A while driving.
@@BSerrell4 thanks
I wish they made an inverter for it.
The reality when you start using batteries is you can actually create your own set up. It definitely is more complicated. You can buy an inverter and solar, but if you have a moment, take a look at our battery power station playlist done a good amount of reviews.
Could I use a 180 watt panels on this? it's 24 volts
Better off contacting Dr Prepper, I wouldn't take any chances and I've never tried that.
Is this battery works on a trolling motor?
Not familiar never used one
Whuda thunk...Dr Pepper makes batteries now. lol
This is not your normal review but i would like to see "under the hood."
I enjoy some Dr Pepper
i just tested mine.
i used it to charge my portable refrigerator with dc port through the hub.
the next morning it was off. i had to turn it back on.
anyone have any idea why?
I would think if the refrigerator at some point doesn’t use any wattage, that’s probably why it turned off. You might want to contact the manufacture.
So, it can only be charged by solar, It would be good if it could be charged from a wall plug???
Hi
DC only no AC inverter so usually solar charging
@@TechMadeEzy How would you charge it using a generator or AC, what would you need? Would a charger do it ? Thanks for help. Ray
Not possible to my knowledge.
BATTERY warranty is 5 years. Not the hub. I think mine said 90 days.
Yup battery 👍🏼
If only it had Bluetooth
Warning! 2 month old LiePO4, it stopped charging. I let it go to low charge, by accident. No it will not accept a Jumpstart and therfore is dead. I have sent 3 emails to support, no response. Lost all the food in my refri and cannot Alford to buy new battery.
Seems like a very big battery to charge small things.🤷♂️
The DC power side for USB devices is one thing, but this is expandable and all of that capacity can be used to power many more things. Especially for folks that power their cabin, RV.
100A capacity is average RV battery, that’s a good market share.

The manual states to charge to 100% and store at 100%.
Not a good idea
@@TechMadeEzy How come? You can email Dr. Prepare and they'll tell you to store at 100%.
Don’t take my word for it, take some time and do research. Should never store at 100%.
@@TechMadeEzy I’m not. This isn’t Li-Io, or LiPo. LiFePO4 is a different chemistry all together and storing. Don’t take my word for it. I’m just after objective facts, that’s all. Love the videos!
I appreciate it and at the end of the day it’s your decision.
Thanks for the info! I found an ELECTOP 4-in-1 Solar Panel Connector Extension Cable Splitter, Compatible with Anderson Connector DC 8mm 5.5mm Adapter Power Plug XT60 Female Connector Charger Solar Connectors Parallel Adapter Cable on a m a z o n that looks similar to the multi port adapter in your video. I currently have an Ecoflow Delta Max with 1 battery and two 220 watt Bifacial solar panels and would someday love to have a whole home solar system. Your videos help educate me! Thanks! (here are some pets for Brooklyn!👋🦮)
