    I have this exact battery in the back of my pickup truck.
    It is powering my Setpower PT55 12v refrigerator/freezer.
    I have three 110 watt flexible solar panels mounted on the roof of my cap on my truck.
    Last year I ran my fridge for 185 straight days in my truck with the solar panels charging the battery.
    I have a Victron mppt solar charge controller also.
    I had a few issues with the battery last year but once I figured out the proper settings for the solar charger I have had zero issues.
    That hub can not run anything high powered.
    Anything over 10 amps will shut off after a certain time.

    I think these seem really slick. I hope others take the general idea. I’m hoping a V2 of this does 100 watts on the USB-C to power most laptops. The solar cable would be nice as well or at least the Anderson connector like you said. Definitely not a deal killer but it would be nice if it had it.

  • @melissasmess2773

    Having many solar batteries I truly appreciate it, normal RV amp size is perfect. Unfortunately it’s not heated so can’t charge it below 32F or use it when very cold unlike competitors. It would be good for camping, off grid, emergency comms and trolling motor. Maybe should have Bluetooth like some of the competition. Nice review, thanks!

    I just bought that battery and add-on with the intend to replace the cheap battery that came with my RV. I really wish they would have included bluetooth or even wifi + an app to keep track of the battery health, capacity and wattage-in when charging. Who knows, maybe they will sell an upgraded add-on hub that includes those features.

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  Год назад

      Years ago I was going to play with inverters, solar chargers, batteries but in all honesty I've grown to appreciate all in one systems, they definitely cost more but they have it all, inverter, mppt controller, ports, outlets, BMS, expansion, warranty etc. EcoFlow, Bluetti are just a few of the brands I enjoy. Sorry I can't help much here.

    do you need the hub to charge the battery with anderson connectors via solar?

    • @TechMadeEzy

      Anderson will support up to 25v so you need to make sure that your panel is below that. 120w should work because you’ll never get 120

    Excellent review. Extremely informative. I have purchased one and currently running a freezer on the battery. My question is this. If you have several of these and are in parallel and they all have the hub. Can you use each hub separately or can you only run one of them at a time? If you can only run one at a time, then the subsequent batteries would not need a hub and would have to purchase a same battery without the hub. Would that be correct?

      After contacting the company several times, I have not received a answer regarding using multiple hubs when multiple batteries are hooked in parallel. I did inform them that I did not have a problem with either the battery or the hub, I just wanted to have some usage information. From there. Of note, the power max battery with the hub was hooked up to my freezer. It ran the freezer for 30 hours and I still had 20% of the battery remaining. I was rather shocked. Lasted that long. The freezer had already been cooled down and I changed from Max to economy mode. I think I could have probably run it several more hours but needed to stop at the point. I did. Very interesting experiment.

    • @BSerrell4
      @BSerrell4 Год назад +1

      It takes quite a while, as the input will be limited to 7-10A depending on your car’s plug and fuses. You can get an adapter cable that is 12v plug to small Anderson. With direct connection to the battery terminals, the input limit is 50A, so with some investment of parts (4AWG cable, isolation switch, circuit breakers, various connectors, dc-dc charge controller, etc) and labor you can wire it to your alternator to charge at 20-40A while driving.
