- Superman El Último Escape at Six Flags Mexico is the tallest, fastest, and longest coaster in Latin America. This Morgan hyper coaster has similar stats to the trio of hypers at the Cedar Fair parks, but Superman is a far superior roller coaster. Find out what makes it so great!

The view of Mexico City from Superman truly is breathtaking, doubly so since you're at 7,000+ ft elevation. Such a great coaster that holds its own in the same park as an RMC.
I may even prefer it to Medusa!
Great review! Having ridden El Ultimo Escape’ I’d actually say that the airtime hill after the helix gave me sustained ejector airtime and the final hills also I thought provided some sustained lifter airtime. I got my rides later in the day so that could be why but El Ultimo Escape’ is certainly an excellent coaster
For strong floater airtime moments like the helix airtime hill, it can be sort of hard to classify if something is floater or ejector. I think if an element is described as strong floater, fl-jector, lifter, or weak ejector, it could fall anywhere along that spectrum depending upon everyone's personal definition. Either way, that helix airtime hill gives some outstanding airtime!
Excellent review! This looks like a great unique hyper!
Thanks! It definitely is!
I rode this 5 times over this past weekend in late January 2024 and I was beyond blown away. Aside from the traditional Morgan body hyper train design, the overall experience exceeded my rides on Phantom’s Revenge in 2023 (which has a much better train design). This is such a unique and complete layout, and fortunately all of my rides barely had any trims tapped at the midcourse. It’s an absolutely world class coaster by any definition, and is the star attraction south of the border.
I much prefer Phantom's Revenge, but that's more a testament to Phantom than this ride. Glad it wasn't trimmed. I'm guessing it was running two trains? It only seems to trim on three.
@@CanobieCoaster correct, it ran two trains all day Friday and on Sunday it was one train, but there were 5 mechanics actively replacing wheels on the second train. Unfortunately the ride went down around noon and never reopened for the day. The third train was in the barn and looked to be partially disassembled.
I’m shocked this thing has never made it into the Top 50 at the GTA, while Steel Force was STILL ranked #45 in 2021!!
I think it comes down to ridership.
Because this isn’t anywhere near Pennsylvania unfortunately
@@CanobieCoaster True, even though that’s not what it’s *supposed* to be about.
Nice review! Your explanation of the mid course explains why some people love this coaster and some think it is Ok/good depending on when they ride it.
Thanks!
I rode this coaster and Medusa Steel Coaster on May 2 along with all other open rides (all roller coasters were open) and when I was at the park, I felt grateful that I went after the off season as well as beat the crowds and lightning storm when I was weathering the storm on May 3 being grateful that no storm ruined my visit there from the day prior before I left on May 4.
Nice! Yeah thunderstorms can be an issue given the humidity.
Thank you for this Review. I’m from Mexico City and I love this coaster because is so smud and the third hill it’s exselent. It is mi top 3 before Velocicoaster and Iron Gwazi.
Nice! It's a fantastic coaster.
This coaster is absolutely top 3 worthy for anyone who has ridden it at its best. Very under appreciated coaster and I think that means more coaster enthusiasts need to visit Mexico City so this can receive the appreciation it deserves.
I got my first and only ride on this last weekend. I think it has potential to be better than Phantom’s but I was beyond stapled, while that is pretty much impossible on Phantom’s. I loved the view and forces and airtime and laterals.
FYI - we did flash pass and did not go through indoor queue at all :(
Sorry to hear you got stapled. I have clearance even on the lowest setting.
From the looks of it this looks like it is in between Steel Force and Phantom's Revenge, in terms of Morgan hypers (although to be fair Phantom's Revenge isn't really a Morgan hyper, as I understand it Alan Shilke designed the modifications with Arrow and Arrow was going to do them, but then they went bankrupt and Morgan was brought in with the existing design because of their compatible track and Vekoma's unwillingness to do a layout they could not mass produce at the time). It's the out and back of Steel Force, the terrain of Phantom's Revenge, and airtime somewhere in between.
That makes sense Phantom's Revenge may have been a Schilke design given how crazy it is.
Great review
Thanks!
Mamba at Worlds of Fun, Wild Thing at Valleyfair, and Steel Force at Dorney Park, opened in 1996, 1997, and 1998. Upon their openings and throughout the years those three Morgan coasters were usually considered by many to be...
A) Among the best hyper roller coasters in the world
B) Among the most forgiving hyper roller coasters in the world
C) Among the tamest and most disappointing hyper roller coasters in the world
D) Among the roughest and most painful hyper roller coasters in the world
They were more popular when they originally opened and there were less hypers.
Great review! This looks like Morgan's best coaster after Phantom.
Agreed!
Agreed
The three Cedar Fair Morgan hyper roller coasters since their opening years, many expected them to be great to excellent rides but they liked them less than figured, because the first half had a lift hill with a first drop, a camelback and a turnaround section with great sustained floater airtime but the mid course brake run slowed them down loudly. Listen. After the mid course brake run, there was a return run with bunny hills. There's where many felt disappointed. Why?
Those return bunny hills were designed to should give them airtime, but...
They can be trimmed.
Superman el Último Escape at Six Flags Mexico was in your video of most surprising roller coasters in the world
Yes
excelente
Thanks!
Bucket list for me!
Nice!
I may not have ever ridden any Morgan, but once about a year ago when I mentioned that I thought this coaster was likely the best Morgan, someone complained "That's only because of El Toro Ryan; besides him nobody else liked it!" I'm thinking 'WTF? even though he rode Phantom's Revenge AND Steel Dragon 2000?' While I will admit that since I've not ridden any Morgan, you and El Toro Ryan can agree, so that makes the detractor wrong since he's not the only one to think its the best Morgan hyper. Perhaps if I rode it I'd disagree, but looking at the way that 1st drop is contoured it looks like it was designed to have the most traditional sustained negative Gs on a drop for any Morgan Coaster as it's the most convex drop I've seen on any Morgan coaster. There may be some B&Ms with more duration of floater on in the back car of its biggest drop, (as well as possibly Millennium Force, Red Force and El Toro,) But for Morgan this looks like it's the best coaster that company ever made. Great video; thanks for posting!
Thanks! I could see someone being down on the coaster if the mid-course trimmed them (I believe that happened a lot when ACE went there), but the first half is still incredible.
@@CanobieCoaster It certainly looks that way!
(3:09) You should've included ElToroRyan explaining block zones are and the block zones of this ride!
Lol
Thank you , greetings from Mexico City, I can ride this rollercoaster
It's a great ride!
I've only ridden two hyper coasters from Morgan and I can already agree how trim breaks can ruin the rid experience. Wild Thing at Valleyfair is much taller, faster and longer than Steel Eel at SeaWorld San Antonio but even I like Steel Eel more because the trim break on Wild Thing doesn't only make the rest of the ride slower but also too queazy for someone who can have a weak stomach.
If Wild Thing didn't trim, it would be excellent.
I live 2 blocks away from Six Flags Mexico, when I tried Superman the lift to the main drop is a combination of agony and astonishment thanks to the view, the drop itself prevents me from breathing, literally, air won’t enter my nose.
Not even really fast coasters like Lightcycle Run and Hagrid’s Motorbike adventure can replicate that same feeling of not being able to breath that Superman gives
(Btw, will you visit Aztlan when it opens?)
I'll check that park out the next time I am in Mexico
Shame you’re not a big fan of the Morgan train design. I think it’s pretty unique. It’s also what inspired the Hyper Coaster in RollerCoaster Tycoons 2 & 3.
I agree they look cool, but I hate how boxy/unexposed you are compared to other hypers.
This ride knocked my socks off.
Me too!
I have to give this a ride. Kennywood is my home park and i have ridden Phantoms Revenge 316 times. Steel Curtain is better in my opinion but just slightly.
I do still prefer Phantom's Revenge.
This certainly looks better than Mild Thing, Mamba & the like, but it still can't touch Phantom's Revenge... C'mon CANOBIE!!! MY MAN ! My main man, from southern new ham
I agree.
Have you ridden Great White at Morey’s Piers
I got 2 rides on it back in 2017. Great location and a decent ride.
You never mentioned the smoothness. How smooth is it anyway?
Very smooth
Which element on this ride causes greyouts?
For me, none. The ride is more about airtime and laterals.
Can you do more foreign coaster reviews?
Definitely!
lol @ “foreign”
4:26 Wooowheee look at those mumbo-jumbo supports. Ground must have terrible bedrock for foundations there. Or something weird. Maybe no space for supports left and right. Well, makes sense, ain't Mexico City a filled in lake city that Spain conquered? Haha.
I think this area can get earthquakes.
I love those supports so weird yet very cool
Is it better than the one at SFNE and SFA?
I can't put it ahead of SFNE's, but an untrimmed ride on this is better than the one at SFA.
Didn't Morgan technically merge with Chance Rides in 2001? So, Chance Rides would have pretty much built this ride with the name Chance Morgan. Anyways, I have heard this is the best Morgan hyper coaster outside of The Phantom's Revenge, and I can see why.
Yes, but this ride was designed by Morgan. The ride was severely delayed due to issues with the government.
I’m confused cuz ElToroRyan said that almost every hill provides ejector and that the laterals are the best on any steel coaster but u said that there is only 1 ejector pop and the laterals are just pretty good
The ride delivered very strong floater airtime so it definitely comes close to ejector at points. As for the laterals, they're very good for a hyper coaster.
Canobie Coaster ok, I think I will set my expectations more accordingly to ur review, cuz it makes more sense and I have a lot of the same opinions on coasters as u
This is one of those times where your personal height will alter your experience a bit due to moving your center of gravity up or down.
steel dragon 2000 has a boring turn section. superman has airtime so it looks good.
I agree Superman has a better turnaround.
Better than Orion?
If the trims are off, yes.
Dang In planet coaster this thing can run 5 trains
Lol
No phantoms revenge is the best morgan hyper. However this looks like the 2nd best.
This is the best ground up one.
@@CanobieCoaster yep
Morgan is underrated
Outside of the Cedar Fair hypers, I agree.
Canobie Coaster yea they suck, especially Wild Thing
This channel is underrated
Canobie Coaster Wild thing is tame but fun. Valleyfair is my home park so i ride it a lot
The first half of Valleyfair is good, but the second half is awful.
Morgan needs to stop with the MCBR.
I agree!
IMO, they should really remove the MCBR’s if they want the Morgan hypers to be 100% flawless. I usually avoid adding a MCBR when building a Morgan Hyper coaster in RCT3. Even when I do add an MCBR, I usually have it set between 35 or 50 MPH so that the coaster isn’t slowed down too much before it could go through the small airtime hills on its way back to the station.
