Hey @mr-fix, I have activated CP and AA on my car, but my car is not equipped wirh rhe USB that supports that. In other words, USB port underneath armrest is only for charging. If I plug carlink device there will the CP and AA work since it uses wireless signal?

Though, I would disagree with your statement of this DIY being a so-called "third leg", and also your claim of the car AC "freezing" your phone. So here's a quick explanation: A: You can't use wireless charging and use CarPlay at the same time on Audi models not equipped with wireless CarPlay. The car will turn off the wireless charger when it sees the phone is connected via USB for CarPlay. Most wireless CarPlay adaptors would be connected to the MMI via USB as a "phone" type device which would still cause the car to turn off wireless charging. I know this first hand as I myself have a 2019 RS3 with a wireless charger in the arm rest that I have never used because it will turn off while using CarPlay via USB or using a wireless CarPlay dongle. B: It can be inconvenient to some to always have your phone in the arm rest. Or if you just have a really big phone, this wouldn't even be an option. This is a pretty good DIY for those that are looking for a solution with wireless charging and wireless CarPlay. The fact that the AC can help cool the battery in the summer is actually an added bonus (for those of us with really warm/hot weather). AC systems in cars are not cold enough to "freeze" batteries as you claim, especially when the phone is charging. AC systems in cars usually average out around 55°F at its coldest depending on ambient temps and humidity. In extreme cases most modern batteries in mobile phone are rated approximately between -4°F to 113°F (-20°C to 45°C) respectively.
Też mam ładowarkę MagSafe. Czy też masz problem z grzejącym się telefonem podczas używania Google Maps ? Załóżmy że chce zrobić trasę 300km, używać nawigacji, janosika i jeszcze ładować telefon. U mnie? Nie możliwe :/
Wiesz może czemu carlin kit się zawiesza? mam seata leona 5f, używam carlinkit łączę się apple car play iphone 15 - działa ładnie kilka dni (3-4) i później łączy się normalnie ale przestaje reagować na dotyk, jak odłączę go i podłączę to znowu ładnie działa, tak jak by za długo pracował to się zawiesza, czy on nawet po zgaszeniu auta ma zasilanie czy jak? mib daje cały czas napięcie ?
Po zgaszeniu auta i uśpieniu MMI, napięcie na portach USB znika. Możesz próbować zrobić update softu (zarówno MIBa w aucie jak i CarlinKit) oraz możesz ustawić boot delay, żeby CarlinKit uruchamiał się trochę później - gdy MIB będzie już gotowy.
Hello mr. Fix please i have two questions unrelated to this video but i believe you can give me a solution. First, i mistakenly bought lowline emblem rear view camera instead of highline for my vw mk 7 and i have mib 1 head unit after installation the camera flips open normally on reverse but the image is dark and very low image quality that it gives almost different image than in reality. please is it possible to remove and change only the camera without the mechanism? Secondly, i later bought and installed aftermarket android radio to replace the mib1 headunit because the quality is very low and occasionally it boost up and sound become strong loud and normally after a while it goes back to weak sound and i have done all setting but to no avail so,i decided to get complete aftermarket carplay enable radio.but when i tried to access module 5f with obdeleven, it does not work anymore even though is still there works finwith obdeleven is still there so, i decided to swap to the old one i was able to access it again Is there anyway i can code it with obdeleven so that it can accept the new radio?
Have you seen the touchscreen afternarket parts for the 8V? Thinking of changing the factory unit for a touchscreen with wireless car play they look pretty good
Why not retrofit factory wireless charging in the armrest and use the carlinkit kit for wireless smartphone interface? That way everything is out of the way, all hidden and tidied up.
