Hello, the OEM screen is always the priority in aftermarket add on, we are not able to override the initial start up sequence. You can easily switch over once the CarPlay/Android auto us connected. Thank you

Hi, I did this and it was successful, but now all the lights inside the car isn't working (front and rear dome lights, glove box light, door lights) do u have any idea what happened? I have checked the fuse but they are all good
I had the same thing happen with mine, you have to change the fuse from 5amp to 10amp. It will tell you which is the correct spot in the owners manual.

Hi, I am installing my car play system and I switch the car on the wireless system works and my phone recognises that it's in car play however I don't get any display on the screen it just stays on the audi screen, music comes through but I get no picture wondering if i have missed a step thanks
I installed this but my rear camera doesn't auto switch from carplay mode when I shift to Reverse. I have to manually switch back to original car mode by Nav/Media button to see the rear camera. Is there a setting I need to adjust?

Hello, you need to plug the AMI cable that came with the unit into the port in the armrest, it does not need to be plugged into anything else. You need to switch the selection to AUX for sound. Fiber optic cable is sometimes located on a different spot. We go off by MMI version software that these cars come with. I'm 100% sure we have something that is compatible with your car.

Hello, adding CarPlay to older vehicles we will have constraints when it only has one AUX source. We have to work with what Audi has provided. We find the easiest way is to use Siri or Google assistant to look up address info. We wish Audi would have added touchscreen to these top tier vehicles, however they did not, so we have to work with what they have provided. Thank you for the comment!

Can I do this without the radio key ?
If you are referring to the key that removes the radio out I highly doubt it. You need access to the back of the radio unit for this to work.
