Correction: The Hot Sauce is 58,100 SHU (Scoville Heat Units)
The hot sauce is made with an original blend of Premium Kanzuri chili paste aged 6 years for a deeper umami, locally grown Carolina Reaper Peppers for that extra fire and shoyu (Japanese soy sauce). The hot sauce crafting process is performed by local artisans so they can only craft about 1200 bottles at a time but this guarantees the utmost attention to detail and an unrivaled taste experience. The hot sauce will be released in limited batches, so get it while it's still available.
In my day in the life video, I wasn’t able to show you the entire process of how this one of a kind hot sauce is handcrafted, so I’m back to give you an even more behind the scenes experience and then finally have the workers try the hot sauce. The hot sauce is made by a small batch producer in Japan's Niigata Prefecture and of course they use Niigata-grown Carolina reaper chili peppers to give the Hot sauce it’s undeniable heat. A fire that I can say is in every drop.
The word Kaminari in my Paolo fromTOKYO Premium Kaminari Hot Sauce means Thunder and Lighting in Japanese, which is what it feels like when the spiciness hits you. And hence, the classic Edo period picture of the Japanese God of Thunder used on the label, but dressed in a fun and playful Zebra print. I hope you enjoy this visit this small Japanese factory handcrafting a spicy umami-rich Japanese hot sauce.

For anybody who is curious, it punches a little bit harder than Tabasco scorpion, but has a completely different flavor profile. Definitely worth having.

I gave it a try and you were right about one thing Paolo. It is fire, but not the kind that's like "I'm going to die". Certainly a hot sauce that packs a punch in flavor and heat!

@@anonymeister123 Same... I went through the whole bottle in about a week. It was perfect for everything. I was even going to try it on vanilla ice cream, but I ran out! It's probably my favorite sauce of all time, just because of how unique the profile is.
how is the taste? is it comparable to any other hot sauce or does it stand alone?
@@cristiant6566 It is taste kinda like an aged soy sauce but pack a ton of fire. It doesn't taste like many hot sauce in USA which is more vinegar base.
@@cristiant6566 It's tough to describe. It's sort of like the bite of a traditional American tobasco (with sharper heat), but instead of a pungent vinegar taste as the base flavor, there's an almost-bitter umami taste from the soy.
It's basically like the foundational flavors of a soy sauce with the sharpness of an American style hot sauce.
Like someone sewed the bottom half of a soy sauce to the top half of a hot sauce... Like a catdog, or a teleporter accident.
I'll definitely be ordering again. I've tried a ton of hit sauces and that one stands alone.

the production of each video is crazy detailed.. all the camera shots, POV of everyone, you never know where its going to be next but it flows so well.. its amazing!
My husband surprised me with a bottle two weeks ago...let me tell ya it's hot. But really what do you expect with Carolina Reapers in it? Still, it's become my favorite treat - I use it in stir fries, casseroles, soup etc I've learned though that I only need like 3 or 4 drops! And yes I totally agree with Paolo - it is HOT as hell but it's so much more than that. There are definite layers to it - totally different than any other hot sauce I've had. I totally get what "umami" is now!

I just want to add a review for the sauce. It is DELICIOUS. I wasn't expecting much heat from a Japanese sauce, but this delivers without killing your mouth. The umami from the shoyu provides excellent balance, unique to most Western hot sauces. I love the Paolo from Tokyo channel but I love hot sauces more. This sauce is legit.
I was so happy to buy a bottle and support Paolo and the business. With Carolina reaper it is too hot to enjoy, but the underlying flavor is so good! If they ever come out with a more moderate/mild flavor I will also be buying !
I purchased 2 bottles, I am loving it. 100% the spiciest Japanese hot sauce I have ever tried!!! I have been putting it on everything, bread, chicken, cheese, tacos, even my salad!! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
You, maiko and of course wolfy has brought me so much warmth through bad times so as a massive hot sauce lover and small hot sauce maker myself i cannot wait to try it! I bought a bottle for my husband who lives spicy food. He used it on his ramen and he loved it! I took a small sample and it punched me in the face! Its HOT!!!
My husband has no trouble eating hot sauce, so I decided to get one of the bottles for him. We thought it was not as spicy as the other sauces he has (because of the scoville scale in the website), so once it came (which was sooner than expected!!!!) both of us decided to try some of it directly form a spoon. We almost died but it was amazing. The flavor is good, the spice is spicy, but not to the point to just make it painful and unenjoyable. He is using a little bit of it in almost everything and everytime he thank me for the gift!! Also, we need to talk about the packaging! The box is cool but the sticker in the bottle is of such a good quality! I thought it was painted! 10/10 experience overall! Hope to purchase more if there is more!
So hard to find a hot sauce of that spice level that is also very tasty. I find this one to be one of my favorites and already thinking of ordering a few more bottles.
I just found out it is the PERFECT taco bell hot sauce.
I think the tortilla breading helps absorb a lot of the chili oil so you don't have the extreme lingering heat where the oil just stays in your mouth forever, but you still get the heat for a bit. Then the kanzuri just kinda compliments the taco bell sauces, like the quesadilla sauces. It sort of lowers the potency of the kanzuri taste while amplifying the quesadilla sauce to the max and just makes it the perfect flavor with the right amount of heat. I ended up using a lot of that really spice hot sauce and incredibly didn't end up with a horribly upset stomach or just stuck on the toilet for the evening. 10/10
Get a taco bell partnership for your sauce
I eat it a bunch with the Filiberto's burritos I get. The sauce is good. But I think I always use too much... I always end up in the toilet with regrets the next day.

The flavor is amazing! I'm happy there's a hot sauce that has an amazing taste that isn't overpowered by vinegar. The umami taste really comes through and is amazing. My new favorite hot sauce by far.

I got my bottle in the mail the other day and couldn't wait to try it! After putting some on a spoon I quickly realized two things. 1. It is one of the tastiest hot sauces I've ever had, and it has such a unique flavour thanks to the shoyu base and
2. It is maybe one of the spiciest things I've ever tried.
Got my bottle a little over two weeks ago, and it definitely is straight up FIRE!!! Delicious on fried eggs on grits, and mixed into tuna salad.
I got two bottles, and they taste great, but I have to admit they're too hot for me, so I only use the barest amount. I have trouble sensing the full quality of the umami, since the first thing that hits me is the incredible heat! If you ever do a "calmer" one, I will be all over it!

I thought I would give it a try, and ordered a bottle. It’s become my go to hot sauce. Great flavor, good heat. I’m using it on everything, and just ordered 4 more bottles. I hope he continues after the first batch sells out. Great job Paola.

Just ordered three more bottles. I mix a few drops to my Sriracha, or cocktail sauce for shrimp to amp up the heat. A few drops on my fried eggs, bbq sauce, stew, baby backs etc ..everything. Just a unique flaver with heat. Love it

We love the hot sauce! It especially goes well mixed into Heinz Kranch sauce and used to dip Fries and Chicken Tenders in it! Love the smokey umami flavor it brings about that way
