- We asked our Mexican Dads to rank some of the most popular hot sauces! 😭🔥🌶
We asked our Mexican Dads to taste test and rank bottled hot sauce! They tried all sorts of popular sauces like Tapatio, Valentina, Yucateco, Frank's Red Hot, Sriracha, Tabasco, Cholula! Will the Mexican papah's be able to handle the heat or will these hot sauces spice them out? Do you think they'll be able to handle all this hot sauce? You'll have to wait and see!

Do you eat hot sauce? 🥵🔥🔥
Always! Valentina, tapatio and siracha are awesome ❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Have them try the Asian spicy noodles there’s so many flavors
Oh yes
Valentina for life! It's the most balanced and delicious.
I love it! I collect them and have favorites. Valentina extra hot and El Yucateco Chile habañero Xxxxxtra hot are a couple of my favorites.
Someone buy these gentlemen a Hot Ones season box set of 10 hot sauces and send them through the gauntlet!
IM FROM MEXICO AND THEY SELL THE ONE CHIP CHALLENGE AS A SNACK HERE WE HAVE JALAPEÑO THAT ARE SPICIER
@@davidneufeld9748lol a jalapeño is not hotter than that
@@davidneufeld9748those ghost pepper and reaper taste like chemicals 🤢
@@davidneufeld9748 🧢 literally go to Mexico a lot and there’s no jalapeños hotter than the one chip
you do it then 😂
So happy to see El Yucateco get some press and respect. I love the different flavors!
So many flavors, but we had to go with the xtra hot! 🔥
The chipotle yucateco is the best, sweet and spicy
big fan of El Yucateco hot sauces but the XXXtra Hot is my favorite.
Whaaaat the green is the best for aguachiles or tuna salads !!
im a dark green guy personally
I used to have low spice tolerance, so my go to has always been Valentina. The story behind the name is very inspiring. For those who dont know, Valentina was a soldier who fought alongside men during the Mexican Revolution, during a time when women were not allowed to join the army. So in her honor, they named the sauce after her. ❤❤❤ Viva Mexico!
Dang that’s beautiful right there
Viva méxico cabrones 🇲🇽
Love Valentina! Very cool to know the history behind the name😄
Qué viva!
My great grandma fought alongside men too
As someone born and raised in Mexico, I’ll always prefer Valentina and that is what i have at home. I feel Tapatío is good but it is mostly consumed in the US, not so much in Mexico.
As someone also raised Mexican, I didn’t even know ppl used Valentina on anything other than to drown their chips in it 😂 I didn’t know ppl used it like Tabasco
I live in the states and most Mexican families I know have at least one big liter bottle of Valentina. It's cheap, so good, and versatile! It just goes on everything!
@@woopersaurusrex Giant bottles are cheap at Walmart. I like the black label best.
@@morrismonet3554by far the best, black label has a perfect balance of flavor and spice.
I WISH I could find the black label I have t seen it around here in a while@@morrismonet3554
As someone raised in Yucatán (that habanero sauce comes from here) that sauce is our pride and joy. Such a delicious and spicy flavor. Not chile in México beats habanero ❤️
Such a great sauce, my personal go to. I have to go to small Mexican markets to find it though cause big chains don't have it!
@@TheCruefan94 I feel lucky to live in Texas where my local HEB carries it. But only the red, green, and xxtra spicy varieties. I really want to try the others so I'll have to check some of my local Mexican markets.
You are right to be proud, it's the best sauce and it isn't even close
That's been my favorite since a kid, when I go to Puerto Rico for vacation I carry a habanero bottle with me 😂😅
was over at a friend's house drunk as a skunk, homie busted out his whole lineup of El Yucateco lmao he had the original, the xxtra hot, the caribbean one, and the black smoky one. threw some leftover fries into the airfryer, topped it with all 4 of the el yucateco's along with some ketchup and japanese mayo. best drunk fries EVER.
That's a real friend
hell yea bro i have that same lineup😂 lol those sauces slap !!!
Vicente cracks me up. He always has the best sound effects about food.
The bowl of wings took me out 😂😂😂
I've been using Yucateco since I was around 6 years old haha I've gone though thousands of bottles. It's a great sauce with everything. Soups, pizza, eggs, tacos.
Such an awesome sauce! I randomly asked my mom for a bottle when I was a kid and it instantly became a favorite. You'd better stock up before the demand goes through the roof! 🤣
goes so well on pasta and pizza
Great on Ramen
Yes I love it in soup, especially if the broth needs a little help, I also like it on chips and eggs.
El Yucatuco was one of my favorites when I was a kid! Glad they (mostly) enjoyed it!!! 😂
They don’t even know the spiciest one haha still my favorite along with tapatio and sriracha
Yucateco is GOATED
"But do you like it?"
" I.
Do.
Not."
Perfect edit lol 😂
Pepinos with a lime and Tapatio... or Tomatoes as a backup. Classic childhood snack.
So good! 😋
Valentina (either regular or black-label) for light spice and great flavor.
El Yucateco habanero (any _except_ the black label, which tastes like ash to me) for heavier spice and great flavor.
I'm also a fan of México Lindo's line of sauces. _Their_ black label (habanero tatemada) is actually really nice.
Cholula, Tapatio, Franks, and Sriracha are my favorites. I like Cholula with eggs and Mexican food, same with Tapatio. Franks I like in Red Beans and rice as well as breakfast foods, Sriracha I like with Pizza, Pho, and most Asian food and even some Indian food.
Top tier comment
This guy hot sauces
I ordered a set of all of or most of the Cholula flavors.
Original
Chili Garlic
Chili Lime
Chipotle
Green Pepper
Sweet Habanero
Very much so looking forward to it as I enjoy the original and green a lot but have never tried these others.
Fun fact, Tapatio is actually an American product. Up untill recently, you wouldnt be able to find it in Mexico. Now it get's imported and costs more than Valentina down there.
That family is from Jalisco. I’ve heard they are from Los Altos. Made in America, yes but roots from Mexico.
@@nyo2828With that logic every “American” product has roots from somewhere else if you trace back roots. With the exception of Native American cuisine.
@@ShoshoneCheif The family immigrated from Mexico to the USA. The United States doesn’t have anything that came from here.
The Mamahs need to do this challenge!!! Xoci will be hilarious!!!❤ great video the dads just rock, I love how they always describe their experience 🎉
they did it already
Xoci doing the hot ones challenge
El Yucateco is best on something really fatty and rich, like a good pork pupusa! Also the El Yucateco black is the best one- super smoky!
I agree. Im not a big fan of yucateco black but their other sauces combine great with a meal…tacos, pork, chicken etc
Good to see Vicente back! 😊
I love him he’s so cute
vincente is the best!!!! 😂😂
I also use Tabasco for breakfast. With eggs, hash-browns. I HAVE to. Tapatio for chips. Sriracha for cup noodles. 😂
u have to try valentina with chips, u won't regret it
Tabasco is best with pizza and pasta. Doesn't work with chips like in the video
Valentina black label is where it’s at ❤ 🔥 🥵
Whoa, what makes the black label different from the original? 😮
Yessssiir
bruh that's the spicier one nmms@@PapahChannel
On hot Cheetos with limon. Bomb
Yup. Valentina black is the best. More spicy
I love Valentina!!! In the US it’s not well known but it great on anything. It’s almost creamy. I have no idea how they achieve that consistency. And of course, Siracha is in a class by itself. That sauce has led to a huge interest and market for hot sauce. I have mucho respect for Tobassco, but my stomach can no longer handle the high vinegar and pepper mix.
My mom often use Frank's Red Hot sauce as a ingredient for her jambalaya, and it does bring a lot of flavor to it.
Not Crystal or Louisiana?
So here's the thing. Frank's RedHot is also a Louisiana hot sauce. Was created in New Iberia! @@eVilmoogl
Yes, because vinegar based sauce is useful for cooking. The acidity brings out the flavor in long cooked dishes like gumbo or beans. Not great for table use, though.
I new they were all gonna choose topatio, predictable 😂
Im just impressed you guys got real Sriracha during the shortage, either this was recorded a while ago or you bought some for like 20x the price it usually costs lol
my asian supermarket has Sriracha back in stock and its not mark up in price like when it was on shortage
We still can't find it :(
its still selling for $10 a bottle on ebay but i hope it starts being distributed again soon@@lt5466
This channel is lit 😂👍🏾. Love it! 💯
Valentina and limon on nacho cheese Doritos is one of my all time favorite snacks.
LOVE hot sauce my favories are tapatio, valentina and siracha! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🤤🤤🤤
Yessss!! Mine too!!
Chalula sauce is originally named Chapala hot sauce becauae its made in Chapala mexico, they change the name when they ship it.
It’s horrible and not spicy. So No one cares
Tapatio actually has no vinegar! The only water based hot sauce Ive ever liked
Because it's a mexican based hot sauce, it's the Louisiana ones such as Tabasco, Crystal and Louisiiana which have Vinegar.
I like the vinegar. It's great on eggs and soul food.
Yep, I am not a big van of Vinegar in hot sauces so I would always use Tapatio instead of Tabasco.
Vinegar based sauce is useful for cooking. The acidity brings out the flavor in long cooked dishes like gumbo or beans. Not great for table use, though.
I always keep two big bottles of Valentina Extra Hot (black label) in the kitchen, and one in my desk at work. I use that to make wing sauce. Mix it with melted unsalted butter, lots of fresh ground black pepper, and a dash of balsamic vinegar. Heat until just melted and mixed, if you cook it too hot the sauce separates from the butter and it's just a greasy mess.
Good to see El Yucateco getting some love too, I get a bottle of that from time to time also, all of them are top notch.
This was a very humble video!! First video I see Arturo give decent scores!
If you do this again do some Melinda’s hot sauce!! So good
Yes! I love Melinda's. I wish they'd make them gluten free so my whole family could eat them, though.
The tapatio and yucateco love. Those are my favorites
Valentina I grew up with, I love it and put it on and in loads of different snacks/meals by far my favorite. 2nd pick is Cholula. Tapatio 3rd.
You should've let them tried Da Bomb.
El Yucateco makes some of the best tasting hot sauces that are readily available in the american market high quality stuff.majority of other hot sauces available in the american market when compared to El Yucateco are average at best and just taste like spicy vinegar.
I agree! I love the Chile habañero Xxxxxtra hot. It's so well balanced and hot! Love adding it to my Mexican food dishes
@@Chaucer129 same here the El Yucateco XXXtra Hot is also my favorite i love putting it on everything i eat.
@@Chaucer129 Nah it's not balanced. It has way too much black pepper. I can eat Reaper sauce and Paqi chips but I cant' eat this without it burning my throat intensely.
That yucateco, the first time I tried it, it made me sweat from my bottom eyelids. Not cry but I started building sweat on my bottom eye lids. These days I put it on everything and it’s nothin. Green, Black and Maya (the one shown here) are my go to sauces. I travelled Europe for a month I took two bottles of each with me. The Spanish that saw me pull em out wanted to try em, they liked the black and green but could not handle the Extra Hot Maya.
The black and the green el Yucateco are BOMB 🔥
Valentina black label and Tapatio are the best, perfect amount of flavor and spice and you can put them on almost anything.
Agree on the black label. So much better than the yellow.
El Yucateco Caribbean sauce is Top tier
I Love papahs and this channel! 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Great video papah's! 😊❤
Ancestors comm’ for ya. 😂
Grew up on Valentina with Fritos.
Tapatío was always next to the Valentina at the restaurants.
Yucateco found me as an adult and I always keep some at home now. It’s my go to in a bottle hot sauce.
Yucateco verde is beautiful on an egg sandwich.
Tapatio is for like eggs and quesadillas and soups and Valentina is for Potato or other kind of chips
Man, i just gotta say it. Arturo has a fantastic voice. he could absolutely be a voice actor.
I agree. I enjoy listening to his food reviews.
Cholula is my favorite!!
Nothing compares to Yucateco at all. They have their place but Yucateco is just phenomenal
Anyone else taste each one through the screen while watching? 😄
Love the videos!!! My favorite gotta be Louisiana crystal tho,I was expecting to see it🗿💟
El Yucateco is definitely my favorite hot sauce. All the Mexican restaurants where I live have em at every table
4 in a yucateco is wild..
Lol I was looking for a new hot sauce to try thanks guys!
This one could throw hands with tapatio LoL
Most store bought hot sauces are sub par.
Cholula has a good taste, but no spice.
Tabasco, while delicious on sausage pizza, tastes of vinegar.
Tapatio is probably as good as you’ll get from mass produced sauces.
I’m working to perfect a homemade hot sauce.
Very likeable guys. They gave all the sauces a fair chance.
En mi casa we keep, yucateca on deck, Frank's red hot for buffalo wraps, tapatío for the chips, Siracha cause it's good, y Melinda's Ghost pepper sauce! Put Melinda's or yucateca on chicken, fish, burgers, wraps, salads it don't matter. They always add a good flavor 😁
El yucateco is in a league of its own.
Where did you find an actual bottle of Huy Fong sriracha? Someone's got connections. Can't find that anywhere anymore.
Would like to see them try the Hot One sauces
I have all of these in my refrigerator, and enjoy them often. I also like Pico Pica, La Victoria Salsa Brava, and Bufalo Chipotle...mainly because I grew up with those
we always have the black valentina and El yucateco
mexican dads try buldak spicy noodles next please!!!!
I am an American of Eastern European descent, Polish to be exact. I love heat though. El Yucateco and Sriracha are my go to hot sauces. Tapatio is really nice too. For exotic, I go with Gochujang or Sichuan chili crisps, no particular brands.
El Yucateco has the most complex flavor (and heat) but for everyday use, you can't beat Tapatio and my other favorite: Pico Pica.
I've been eating el yucataco for years. I'm surprised they never heard of it. Great stuff.
I got the last one once here in london. I can't find it anymore. Hands down my favourite. Wish you could get it here😢
I'm insulted that they all picked Tapatio over Valentina out of nostalgia. Pull out the black label Valentina. Or some Walkerswood scotch bonnet, Jamaican Firestick, and the last dab. Punish these fools.
I have all of those in my pantry except for Tabasco and Cholula.. i need some kick in my salsa. I'm used to making mine homemade with Chile de arbol so I can handle some heat but when I'm in a hurry all of those are fair game especially the tapatio, Sriracha , and yucateco.
The dude putting 10,000++++ is me for sure, El Yucateco is one of my all time favorite underrated hotsauces for putting with Mexican/TexMex food, especially tacos al pastor. The green chile habanero one has a phenomenal flavor, and the black one is nice, but I also really enoy the really spicy one, Exxxtra Hot, for a great kick. 🔥👌
I had a Mexican friend that I met in a restaurant in a small town called Livingston in Texas, the restaurant is El Taquito, and he was such a cool waiter, older and respectful. He had been with the owners for a long time and brings great vibes there, he's the one that showed me this sauce for the first time around 2020 at the restaurant, and I fell in love with the sauce on my al pastor tacos, he'd always hook me up with more meat and that special sauce they didn't keep out. Not many Americans like the spicier stuff around there I guess, so they keep it in the back for the Mexican guests that know about it. After I had it and found out it was at Walmart, I started buying it and using it on all kinds of things at home. 🤤
There's other good choices there, Tapatío and Cholula are really nice, and I absolutely love Valentina hot sauce, both the regular and extra hot. 😀
I remember trying Valentina sauce for the very first time at a chain Mexican restaurant when I was around 10. It made my burrito taste like a cheeseburger.
And for a ten year old boy: Cheeseburger = good. I’ve made sure we had a bottle in the fridge ever since and now that I live on my own, I got a GIGANTIC bottle of it that I’ve been using for years. And it’s become a staple ingredient in my homemade chili recipe.
I haven't tried Valentina so I'll definitely give that a go. El Yucateco is one of my favorites.
I was taught to put Tapatio on popcorn by the workers at an old job. Try it! My hot sauce stash consists of Tapatio, Chipolte Cholula, El Yucateco Salsa Negra, Rooster Sriracha, Sriraja Panich (extremely well balanced), Crystal Louisiana Hot Sauce, and a green jalapeno Tabasco that is better than their tabasco. (What is real sriracha is a whole other story.)
All my favorite hot sauces in one video.
I love the green habanero El Yucateco. Favorite hot sauce.
this video made me really happy
The regular red El Yucateco is my all time jam. Just right when I want spicy kick, Sriracha when I want to use a lot of sauce.
Nobody even mentioned salsa huichol smh
Dude. Found this in the grocery store by chance. It's so good. This def should have been on the list.
El Yucateco is my go to sauce at Mexican spots that have it. So good. I keep it in my cabinet along with my Iguana gold. I can't believe the one rated it so low haha. I'm a gringo and even I recognize the greatness.
My step father is Half Mexican /Mayan, speaks native tongue, and that last sauce is his favorite! I tried a dab of it on an oyster. Bomb, but hot af! For me at least 🤣
I love Valentina on my chips, tostadas and popcorn! I like Tapatio mixed with tartar sauce for my camarones empanizados! I love Sriracha for soups and on all Asian foods! Cholula is perfect on my eggs! Franks is great for wings and pizza!
I love Tapitio!!!! But if I want that flavor and not so much heat Valentina is perfect! Sriracha is perfect for eggs!! Good video! Love me some hot sauce!! 🥵
Not me using the yucateco like it’s tapatio in my house 😅
Love the videos but each hot sauce goes with certain foods. Like Tabasco is not going to taste good on chips, it’s used more for pizza, burgers, pastas. Tapatío is more like seafood tostadas. Tapatío is more popular in California.
That Mayan sauce is good on specific dishes in my opinion definitely a must try.
But at my house I have all except Tabasco that shit nasty lol
Top 3 always
1. Tapatio
2. Valentina (Black Label) preferred but the OG is great.
3. Cholula
🔥💯🙂
!! Where did you find a bottle of Sriracha?! I can't find it anywhere - that specific brand is my favorite on eggs and it's always missing from shelves.
Also, I would put Tapatio at the very bottom of my list. I don't understand the love for it. Cholula is a little better but I prefer El Yucateco (delicious), Sriracha (my go-to), Tabasco (on pizza or mixed into ketchup for my fries) and better than all of these is my aunt's homemade salsas.
Heck yes! El Yucateco Exxxtra Hot is always my go to US grocery store hot sauce
Valentina and Franks red hot go into my meals, vinegar based goodness keeping the cals low and their cheap and make my healthy meals spiced up
The XXXtra Hot Yucateco is my favorite on tamales. It is a rich sauce full of flavor and heat
Cholula to me is the most mild out of all. I’ve used it only for breakfast to add some chili flavor. Out of all of them Tapatio and Tabasco are my most used. I love the vinegar flavor 🤤. I love Yucateco but I usually don’t purchase it since I don’t like fake coloring added to my foods.
The legendary Sriracha😮
I have both Valentina (red) and Yucateco (orig.) here that I brought from the US.
Much love from the Philippines 🇵🇭
As someone who tried to branch out from Franks Red Hot and eventually settled on El Yucateco after trying dozens, I have never felt more validated.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS love El Yucateco, especially that particular one
Amazing video! Love myself hot sauce and please consider tasting colombian food and desserts! 🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🙏🙏🙏🙏
I love Tapatio and Valentina, but I always buy the extra hot Valentina. The El Yecateco is good on a breakfast burritos or huevos rancheros
I trust them. I want to try Tapatio now. Rooster Sriracha is literally impossible to find in my area I haven't seen a bottle in years. It used to be a staple in my house. They rated Cholula pretty high. That stuff is everywhere I don't remember it though I haven't had it since I was a kid. 🌶️
I have currently in my fridge: Zaaschila (Chipotle), Perrona (roasted, Roja and verde), Amor (con límon) and Valentina (extra hot), oh and fake Sriracha because I can't find the real stuff anywhere.
