Thank you for your clips , very very useful . Do you find the MAO - micro arc oxidation - better scratch resistant in long terms compared to regular type II anodizing of CONVOY S2+ ?
What are some flashlight emitters you recommend for bright white light. Something in the 4500k-5700k. I really like the sst20, t40, the sft40, but I’m looking for something floody. Thank you In advance for your time and recommendations.
Hello sir. You should try big led like xhp50.2 or xhp70.2 . They are very floody. Or if your flashlight can use tir lens, this can make a floody beam. Thanks for watching sir 😊. Please subscribe 🙏.
I love the beam profile of the 519A on the Convoy S21A, very balanced ratio of center spot and side spill. The SST20 on the S2+ is almost hard to use as EDC, very throwy.
From my experience the SST emitters have a lot of green tint shift. I do not have SST 20, many SST 40 though. I prefer the Nichia emitters mostly. However, if some throw is needed the Nichia emitters might not do well for that task in an S2. I have an S2 with Osram CSLNM1 for my throwing needs, and the Osram does not appear to have the horrid green tint shift the SST emitters seem to display. Thanks for the video, very informative.
Agree with you sir. For sst40 5000k, I have a lot of them and some are different even they says 5000k. Some are quite yellow but some are not.Very strange. Thanks for watching and sharing sir 😊🙏.
@John Hooper Yes, the SST 40 is a bright LED, however, the CRI and tint are not very desire able compared to the Nichia or Samsung emitters. I have an S2+ with a 5700K Samsung LH351D, and I really like that emitter, got a good amount of white light and some neutral. The 5000K LH351D has some slight green, however, a much better improvement over the SST 40. It would be a good gesture if Sofirn, Astrolux, Wurkkos, and some other manufacturers would offer Nichia and Samsung emitters for more options with their offerings. I have an SC31PRO with 5000K and I am very disappointed with the 5000K SST 40, that particular emitter has the most horrid and awful green tint of any that I have ever purchased. Now, I might have to find a way to do an emitter swap to either a Samsung or Nichia just to be pleased with the light the tint is so terrible. The light otherwise is brilliant, just the awful tint is hard to bear. Nichia, and Samsung are the best options for most uses, and now with the 519A available, and LH351D, they will handle most needs. If more brightness is needed it seems that the triple and quad setups seem to be working well with some offerings.
Even in 2700K the SST20 has high positive duv. It has a strong yellow shift, only the old XM-L2 has a worse shift. But I also have a 5000K SST20 that is only visibly green at very low power, it has good white light in normal use modes.

Hey and thank you for your video. Im interested in this flashlight but i cant decide between this S2+ and S21a. Do u know something about the output of the S21a with 519a? Is it the same 1300 lumens like the S2+? Im searching and searching but i dont find anything about it. I would appreciate your help a lot. Thank u :)
S21a has a more powerful driver sir. It's 3v 6a. S2+ is 3v 5a. S21a 519a may probably reach almost 1300lm sir. You can check the led performance here. Thanks for watching sir 😊. Please subscribe 🙏. www.reddit.com/r/flashlight/comments/scntbw/nichia_519a_light_output_compared_with_other/
Yes sir. A reflector also affects throw. However, sst20 itself is a thrower. For the S15, you asked a good question sir. I don't find it on AliExpress. I find it on Shopee, Lazada. Some Thai sellers also sell it. Thanks for watching sir 😊🙏.
I got S2+ with 519a 2700k. I want to change the 2700k to 3500k. Do i have to remove the entire plate and use an iron like your video then solder the plate back in?
Actually when I bought a new led, I bought it together with the board sir because it is easier when you want to change the led. However, I also use my hot iron if the base of my new led can't fit in the flashlight. Thanks for watching and your support sir 😊🙏.
@@weerapatkiatdumrong Do you know the size of the board ? Also does it just fit in without soldering? I've never done this before. I never even have taken the led out or looked at that inside ever. I'm just learning.
