Thank you. We're pleased you enjoyed the video! ~ Mandy
Great video guys, wonderful exploration of this beautiful Portuguese town 😉😊 very enjoyable
Thank you, Stephen. It's always so lovely to hear from you. We had such a great time exploring Peniche, and I'm pleased you enjoyed the video! ~ Mandy
Hi Lee and Mandy, it is great to see Portugal. We are thinking of visiting Portugal, but neither of us like seafood. (Eric)
Hello Eric & Christian! Thank you for your lovely comment. Portugal is such a beautiful country, with amazing food and delicious pastries and wine. We're not really into seafood either but there are so many other tasty options! Check out a Francesinha for example, to see an incredible sandwich! 😃😁 ~ Mandy
@@FrugalTravellers thanks for the feedback, Mandy! We’re going to watch your francesinha video. Did you move there or just spending a long time there? - Christian
Greetings from Canada🇨🇦 Enjoyed your video! Too bad you didn’t have a shot of the Portuguese ladies making lace. It’s mind blowing how they spin the balls around so fast, its a real art. My husband and I have a fish mounted on blue velvet we purchased there which we treasure. They were so pleasant and accommodating to us and even gave us some antique wooden spirals they use to make the lace for souvenirs. Maybe you couldn’t get in because of Covid??
Hello Dianne! Thank you so much for your lovely comment! How wonderful to hear about your experience seeing the lace making process. The school wasn't open that day but we'll be returning to Peniche in February when we go back to the Praia d'el Rei housesit. Hopefully we'll be able to see the women display their skills another time! ~ Mandy
Thanks for the Peniche video! We actually missed some of those places when we visited. We will go back for sure.
Question: Can you please post your "buy us a coffee" link?
Hello Jay! Thank you for your lovely comment, and it's great to hear that this video showed you new places in Peniche!
We decided to put our Buy Me a Coffee link in the video description section as we didn't want to make a big thing about it. Thank you for asking about the link. We've received coffees from some very generous people already, and will make sure we have special cafe and restaurant experiences that we would normally never consider! We're currently doing Workaway in Cascais and there are some very nice places to try here! 😁😃 ~ Mandy
@@FrugalTravellers Enjoy Cascais! What a nice place! We stayed there in 2019 for a few days...kind of for the tycoon crowd ;-) but still beautiful for all to see.
@@antifiat It's beautiful, indeed... lovely beaches and amazing buildings! ~ Mandy
@@antifiat Thank you so much for your incredibly generous gift of 20 coffees! Lee and I feel humbled by your kindness and generosity! We will find somewhere nice in Cascais to have a lovely tycoon experience! Thank you! 🙏😃❤ ~ Mandy
@@FrugalTravellers My pleasure! Thanks again for your vids!
How did we miss this little gem! The is fantastic and reminds us of Sagras a bit. A beautiful day we'll spent! Thank you for sharing this with us, a definite must see we we come back to Portugal 💞 Debbie and Stijn
Thank you, Debbie and Stijn! There are so many great places to visit in Portugal - we keep coming across new favourites all the time! Peniche is a lovely little town and we enjoyed our time there! ~ Mandy
Hi Debbie and Stijn, hope you are both well. Funny you should mention Sagres... only because I lived in the Peniche area, and loved it... and visited Sagres a few times, and loved it!! This part of the Silver Coast is special, and so is the Costa Vicentina (Sagres) and West Alentejo. :)
@@JenSheaWe haven't been to Sagres yet, which seems a major oversight as I do like their beer! Fingers crossed we get a housesit or WorkAway in that region one day! 😃😁 ~ Mandy
Been following a while , thank you for your vids ! .... just a thought i would like to know the dates filming started and ended for each episode to give idea of expected weather for month x
Hello! Thanks for your lovely comment and great suggestion! We'll start putting that information in the pinned comment for each video... this video was made in November as I'm not as productive/focused as Lee, who made all the Nazaré videos! 😃😁 ~ Mandy
@@FrugalTravellers ahh thanks for extra speedy response .... my mrs wants to know if you plan or have already been ti Latvia .. .. shes loves your episodes also xxx once again thanks for your content
@@LoudGroovy We love reading comments from our viewers and try to answer them as soon as possible. Please thank your mrs for her question, and let her know that we made 5 videos during our 2020 visit to Latvia. This is the link to our Latvia playlist:

We'd planned to stay longer but something came up in the UK so we had to race back in September 2020. We loved the 3 Baltic states and would love to return! Thank you for your lovely comments and support! ~ Mandy
@@FrugalTravellers ahh bless , we still tucked up in bed ! on a chilly sunday morning in Coventry ...... in about 5 mins i will be streaming back to back ure Latvian adventures ! thanks for ure help on this ttfn
@@LoudGroovy We're the same. I try to answer all comments before getting up, especially on a slightly chilly morning here in Cascais as it's a great excuse to stay in bed! 😃 ~ Mandy
Hi, did you find out why some restaurants closed for the whole month of November?
No, we're not sure why so many restaurants were closed for holidays at that time, but I'm guessing November is the low season before the Christmas tourist season. Thank you for your comment, and hopefully a local will be able to confirm my guess 😁😃 ~ Mandy
Good content . I am Corious, what is your favorite town in Portugal
Hello Anita. We have different favourites... mine is Setúbal and Lee's is Coimbra! ~ Mandy
What was your walking route like from PDR to Peniche. I just bought a home in PDR, and I want to try the walk to Peniche, but I'm wondering if it's safe for a solo woman. 🤔 It looks like several dirt roads.
We show part of the route in our Baleal video, as that's the first half of the walk to Peniche. Yes, it's along a dirt road, and there are mainly fields along the way, but there are a few houses. I would walk it on my own, but it's up to the individual if they feel comfortable. Portugal is one of the safest of the 100 countries I have been to, but nothing is 100% safe. ~ Mandy
I would also appreciate your review at living in Praia del Ray , such as is it too remote, do most people who own homes leave for the winter? I am a golfer did you see people playing at this time of the year? Do the people that you house sitting for live there permanently and what’s the weather like ? Thank you
Hello Anita. PdR isn't too remote if you have a car. There were still a lot of people living there in November. Yes, the owners of the housesit live there permanently. The weather is mixed as is on the Silver Coast. We'll be returning in February so will make another video of Praia d'el Rei. ~ Mandy
Are there any hiking trails in Peniche or nearby?
Yes there some nice walks all around the coastline in Peniche and out along the dunes to Baleal.
@@FrugalTravellers Can we do camping there?
@@adamputh1090 We saw a campground between Baleal and Peniche but don't have any information about it. ~ Mandy
@@FrugalTravellers Aight but can we just pitch our tent wherever we find a good view from or is it illegal🤔
@@adamputh1090 We haven't rough camped in Portugal, but have heard that it is illegal.
